Similar to what's being planned for the Xbox Live Arcade service in India, an edutainment game is reportedly being prepped for release on the Korean Xbox Live Arcade. This edutainment title will be part of Microsoft's push to bring more casual gamers into the Xbox 360 fold and will be released in the region along with six other Korean-developed Xbox 360 retail titles. How is the console race doing in South Korea? According to Microsoft Korea's marketing coordinator, the Xbox 360 is doing much, much better compared to its rival, the PS3, which sold 200 units in a record time of 3 minutes upon launch. The Xbox 360's estimated total sales numbers? 100,000 units.

In the GSTAR Game Expo held in South Korea, Nexon Korea’s international business division general manager Jamie Kang has revealed that they've been working on an Xbox 360 port of the MMORPG Mabinogi for over a year now. He also shared some details about Maple Story DS, which he said will not be an MMORPG like the original Maple Story but an action-adventure RPG.

With Unreal Engine 3 in its arsenal, Parabellum is sure to wow the Korean audience when ACONY goes on tour at GStar from November 9 to 12 at the Kintex Korea International Centre. If you would recall, the game received an incredible response when it debuted at the Games Convention in Leipzig. The game continues to impress audiences after subsequent video footage received one million views worldwide.

Korea's GSTAR (Game Show & Trade, All-Round) is poised to take over the spotlight that used to shine on E3. Recently, E3 organizers said the famous fanfare will be scaled down and be limited to members of the press from various media. GSTAR is taking the opposite direction by building itself as THE world's attraction park in the game sector.

A big hit last year, GSTAR had 160 exhibitors and over 150,000 visitors at its first show. This year GSTAR will focus on building up a "pleasant business environment, intensifying business supporting programmes (conferences and seminars)." It will also form various public events like amateur game league, game music festival and celebrity's show to attract more visitors ranging from gamers to families.

The second GSTAR will be held on November 9 - 12 in Korea. Oh, and so you don't end up buying plane tickets to the wrong place, that's South Korea.
