PlayStation 3 - Image 1Nope, the PS3 most certainly has not been pushed to its limit yet. Karl Hilton, Crytek UK's managing director, is of this opinion, as divulged in an interview with Develop. The best is yet to come, and we're all waiting for it.

Crytek UK - Image 1The acquisition by Crytek seems to be going great for Free Radical, er, Crytek UK. Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli has revealed that they've pretty much given the developer free reign in what projects they're pursuing.

QJ.NET - Image 1We've entered into a new month, and you know what that means for our weekly feature articles. That's right, it's time to get zipped! And just to recap, this month marks a rather special one because we've branched out beyond the PSP handheld, and has, for the first time, done both QuickGuide and How-To issues for the iPhone. Just do note, too, that this won't be the last either.

TimeSplitters 4 concept art - Image 1As it turns out, neither Codemasters, Monumental, or those interested companies outside the video game industry were able to buy Free Radical Design. Instead, Germany-based Crytek was the one who ponied up the cash to get their hands on the Haze and TimeSplitters developer.

Free Radical's TimeSplitters - Image 1It looks like Free Radical - and, by extension, the TimeSplitters series which a lot of you readers seem to be fans of - may still have a future after all.

Leaked: Dark Obiwan character art - Image 1You know he's evil because he has creepy, yellow eyes that stare at you from beneath a dark hood. That just screams Palpatine. But wait, that's not Palpatine, it's... Obi-Wan Kenobi? Looks like Free Radical was planning to put a twist on an old story (and an old Jedi) for Star Wars: Battlefront 3. Too bad they got axed before we could see more.

Yoda - Image 1With Free Radical biting the dust, some footage for their cancelled Star Wars: Battlefront 3 game has just reached the Internet. We hear this footage was taken from an alpha meeting with the team - now since this is from alpha, that means it's taken from an early build of the game. Though that might be the case, it does sure look impressive as it is (err, was). It's a shame, really. Too bad we'll never see what Battlefront 3 will eventually look like would it have been released in the future. *sniff*

Free Radical - Image 1Contrary to some rumors that sprang up a while ago, Haze developer Free Radical is still in business. Well, they haven't exactly shut down yet, but it's getting pretty damn close.
