It's been a rather busy seven days for the PSP homebrew community. The great homebrew hope is still burning bright thanks to Freeplay's hack for the PSP Go (that was fast, wasn't it?), and custom firmware users who don't want to upgrade to non-M33 firmware have steadily been given better and better chances of playing new games on their old firmware thanks to Yoshihiro's frequent Game Decrypter updates and the arrival of a new app called Eboot Patcher. All that and more homebrew goodness in the PSP Homebrew Weekend Warrior!

Ok here's a first for you all! Over at Acidmods, roro3030 has released the first ever modded PSP Go. The simple mod consist of nine bright LEDS strategically placed on top and on the back of Sony's latest entry in the PlayStation Portable lineup. Check it out the after the jump.

Now we've certainly seen our share of PSP mods over the years, from the sound reactive mods to the over the top custom PSP's, but check out this uber-cool mod courtesy of JoblessPunk. The JP Edition PSP mod features two analog nubs, 32GB flash memory, second USB port for charging and internal camera all all rolled into one neat package.

PSP homebrew dev pen is back with another update for his Macrofire plugin for the PSP, upping the versions to 3.0.5. If this is the first time you hear of this app, it allows you to record button macros, adjust the analog nub sensitivity level, remap controls, and enable rapid-fire on select buttons. Sony's press conference today at E3 2009 saw the official announcement of the new PSP Go. Now here's John Koller with a quick walkthrough of what the new device brings to the handheld table. Hit the jump for the video and some more details about the PSP Go.

Here's some good news for the PSP community, homebrew coders Xenogears and Becus25 has released Custom Firmware Enabler. This program will enable the functions of M33 CFW using ChickHen except for Recovery and Pops. It also works with TA-088v3 motherboards, but sadly it doesn't support the PSP 3000 yet.

Ready for more PSP2 rumors? Yes? No? Well, ready or not, here we go. This latest batch of rumorlicious rumors comes from 1Up, who apparently has some sources "directly involved with the new system". Some of them we've heard about, some we haven't., so I'll just distill all the rumors into a list so it'll be easier for you guys to wade through, okay? Okay.

After posting their financial report and showing a decline in hardware sales, SCE Europe boss David Reeves had quite a lot to talk about - PSP future hardware, current PS3 hardware, their game library (or the lack thereof), etc. And so says he about why the PS3's high price is worth it: "PS3 has got all the games, it's free to go online, it's got a Blu-ray player. I know I'm not going to have to ring up the customer careline saying I've got three red lights."

The Wii's always been getting a lot of flak from its critics who say that it's not really "next-gen." Well maybe this piece of news will keep them quiet. According to a report from What They Play, the second generation Wii will bring HD visuals, and improved storage capacity. More after the read more link.

PSP developer Akop Karapetyan (also known as uberjack) has released a continuation of Flavor's PSP port of the RACE! NeoGeo Pocket and Pocket Color emulator. Save state support is still disabled, but it does support zipped roms. More in the full article.
