The news that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots' street date has been broken isn't exactly new, but to everyone who still believes such a thing isn't possible, we've got another thing coming. It seems that reports and comments about Wal-mart selling the PS3's 80GB MGS4 bundle seems to be true as you can see in the image after the jump. |

For those of us who couldn't make it to the Nintendo World Store with our dads in time for the Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree tournament, here's a chance for all of us to catch a glimpse of what we've missed.
The brief clip shows son-and-dad teams working hard together to get as many points in the game as possible - after all, with prizes of brand-spanking-new Nintendo hardware, who wouldn't? Of course, it wasn't all about the prize, as there was much bonding between parent and child to be had, as well as crucial life lessons like sportsmanship and patience - things people never thought a video game would actually teach. It's certainly good that Nintendo's holding events like these - no mere contest of skill, but also of intellect and camaraderie, as well as developing bonds in families. Let's hope Ninty holds another one, and we'll be sure to cover it as it happens. To all dads out there, Happy Father's Day! |

A lot of families celebrate Father's Day in different ways. Regardless of what people do, it's a given that people celebrate and bond with a person that they hold dear, their father. For father and son gamers, what better way to spend the day together than playing a couple video games? Apparently, Nintendo feels the same way and held a father and son event at the Nintendo World store in New York. This event called "Biggest Brain" had 30 contestants playing Big Brain Acadamy: Wii Degree in a bracket-style playoff format. The champions for the contest Rick and Michael Singer, walked away with a "hot Wii." Interestingly enough, Rick Singer gave word that they just happened to be there. He said, "I asked my son to come to New York with me for Father's Day, but he said he'd only come if we could go to the Nintendo World store." They're probably both glad that they stopped by. |

DS and Wii owners, your attention please. Just in time for Father's Day, Nintendo has a few suggestions on what to give dad on his day. You may want to take down notes because dad may be sick and tired of receiving the same old tie, or the same old shirt. To get your brain juices running in thinking up of a nice gift, here are some suggestions to chew on:Brain Age: Train your Brain in Minutes a Day: Your father may find this Nintendo DS gem quite useful in avoiding memory gaps. He may also thank Brain Age for making his brain sharp enough that nobody's going to one-up him at work. That goes for you too, unfortunately. Wii Remote: Your dad may love getting his own Wii Remote. Personalize it, heck, paste a cheesy sticker that says "DAD" in big letters on his Wiimote. Big Brain Academy: Wii Degree: You can take the Father's Day challenge together at Nintendo World New York, from 1 to 5 P.M. on June 16. You may want to get this chance to bond with your dad. Software discounts: Just in case he's hankering for some games on his Nintendo Wii or DS, it'll do him some good to make a short trip to Nintendo store, if you happen to be living in that area. He may even buy you that Wii or DS game that you've always wanted. Virtual Console: We all know that our parents were kids too. With that in mind, you dad may become sentimental when he gets the chance to play games that he has known and loved in his days. If you have a Wii, what could be better than getting games from the Virtual Console? It's not a bad deal considering that the prices start at, 500 Wii Points; it may also put him in such a good mood he'll let you drive his car on Saturday night. |

An official announcement by PlayNC on the City of Heroes website has pegged a special weekend for gamers just coming out of school and entering the lazy days of summer. In celebration of the lapse between schooling (and Father's Day?), PlayNC will be doubling your experience points in one weekend. The special weekend will begin on Friday, June 15 on 8:59 a.m. PST (11:59 a.m. EST) and will end on Sunday, June 17 on 8:59 p.m. PST (11:59 p.m. EST). Gamers who don't have an account and want to take advantage of a special opportunity that happens only twice a year can get a friend to refer them to the game for a 10-day free trial. And those currently active on City of Heroes might want to take advantage of the Referral Program for free game time in return. And not limiting only to the good side, City of Villains players will also enjoy a double experience weekend in parallel with the protagonist experience. |

If you've always wanted to try golfing but don't have the energy, equipment, or enough discretionary cash for what are often extravagant greens fees, you might want to check this one out.
Shot Online is a golf simulation MMORPG developed by OnNet Company Ltd. Combining role-playing with virtual sports (and an animation/physics engine that is nothing short of amazing), this one features customizable characters that bear an odd resemblance to the hugely popular Japanese "anime" figures. Like other MMO games, one increases their skill by a combination of experience points and the purchase of ability-enhancing equipment. The game is free to download and play. If that's not enough, you can now fulfill your fantasy of being Tiger Woods by joining their 3rd Professional Tournament. At stake is $2,000 in total cash prizes, plus an additional $5,000 in virtual in-game currency.Prizes will be awarded as follows: 1st Place - $1,000 Also, one lucky winner will receive two pairs of Impact Pants. |
