Naughty Dog co-president Evan Wells recently revealed that Trophy support for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is coming to us by Mid-August or possibly sooner, depending on the speed of Sony's testing of the patch. Learn more about the implementation of Trophy support in Uncharted after the jump!

After a pretty impressive release and solid reception, a sequel to Naughty Dog's Uncharted: Drake's Fortune has always seemed like a foregone conclusion. While nothing has been set in stone yet, Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra has given what could be the closest  thing so far to an official confirmation for the game's expected sequel. Evan Wells, co-president of Naughty Dog, was willing to take on all comers as he answered a lot of questions in a live text interview with the Eurogamer community about his recent game Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, as well as the possibility of upcoming projects on the PS3.

In a recent interview with Evan Wells, co-president of Naughty Dogs, he stated that the demo for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune coming this November 8 will contain the first part of the fourth chapter (a sizable 1.2 GB chunk of the game).

Wells also expressed how he continues to be impressed with the hardware and performance of the PlayStation 3 and (more than) suggested that a future Jak and Daxter game would appear on the PS3.

In a recent interview with Evan Wells, Co-President of Naughty Dog, he talks about various details for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune which just recently went gold. In the interview, Wells also explains why the game was only possible for the PlayStation 3.

First of all, Wells confirmed both rumble and use of SIXAXIS in Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. Also, the game will play from 10 to 12 hours on the first run but like any good game holds enough secrets to get you going the next time around (and the next, and the next one after that.)

The game has also been written to make way for sequels to the game. While the game doesn't end in a cliffhanger, Wells explains that the game is open to a lot more "opportunities to explore other Uncharted parts of the world." Gives an all new meaning to the title, doesn't it?

Wells also explains why the game was meant only for the PlayStation 3, saying that it's primarily the use of a hard drive, which allows you to play the game from start to finish without having to wait for anything to load. Not only that, but the data couldn't fit on anything else but a Blu-ray disc.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is huge: 24GB huge. It would have been larger but they're currently only utilizing one layer of the disc. This would change in future games though. Wells says that future games (the sequel maybe?) might utilize the second layer and would use more than 25GB worth of space.

Wells was also asked how much of the PlayStation 3's power they actually utilized. Wells answered: "As far as the Cell processor and the SPU's are concerned we were only using about 1/3 to 1/2 of the SPU's at one time and so there is still quite a bit more we can do."

Sony PlayStation 3 fans looking for another major exclusive will get their fill come November 20 because Naughty Dog has announced that all systems are go for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune's launch. This was reaffirmed in a recent post by the developers in the U.S. PlayStation blog.

"We went 'gold' last week," reveals Naughty Dog animation and AI programmer Christian Gyrling. "Right now the game is in other words 100 percent done and is currently going through the approval process."

"Most everything is in the game, and we are just chasing down the last bugs and making a few minor balancing tweaks here and there," adds Naughty Dog Co-President Evan Wells.

Uncharted: Drake's Fortune is an action-adventure title that tells the story of Nathan Drake who travels to a forgotten Pacific Island where the riches of El Dorado are allegedly hidden. Following the guidance of ancestor Sir Francis Drake, Nathan must advance through the plot in a slightly more realistic style than conventional platformers to unravel the mysteries of the past.

Naughty Dog is among the most prolific development groups in the gaming business with success in their work with the Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter franchises. Watch out for Uncharted: Drake's Fortune in store shelves because it's bound to be a blast.
