Emeric0101 of the XtreamLua forums has come up with a patched version of Lua Player that runs under Team M33's 3.71 M33 custom firmware. For those new to the PSP homebrew scene, Lua Player is an app that interprets Lua scripts for the PlayStation Portable. It allows PSP users to use applications or play games coded in Lua. Now you guys won't have to go through great lengths to get your Lua programs to work on the PSP Slim. If you need more help or information, you can either click on the Via link below (if you understand French) or head on over to our PSP Development forums. Keep checking back here on QJ.NET for more homebrew news and updates. Download: Lua Player for Team M33's 3.71 CFW |

French homebrew developer Emeric0101 just came up with a space shooter called Eliminated. While the first public build is still in beta phase, the game is very playable and is quite enjoyable. You might need to translate some French words, however, to fully enjoy this PSP homebrew. The coder said that a final version will be released after he has collected all bug reports and suggestions from the users. Here is the current features of Eliminated BETA translated in English using an online language engine:

XtreamLua Compiler

Emeric0101 from our forums released today a Compiler for Windows to stop people from stealing your Lua code. Named XtreamLua (no, that isn't a typo) Compiler v0.2, this handy application encrypts Lua code (which could otherwise be easily accessed using a simple word processor) so that nobody can steal your source and try to pass it off or using it in their own application/game. According to Emeric0101, this application is much faster than encoding the Lua file yourself and is pretty easy to use and from what we can tell by the GUI. The application has been originally coded in French but it also has English language files included. When you run the installer, just click the button which says "Suivant" and then select "English". After that, the rest of the installation process will continue in English along with the application when it runs. There are a few grammar errors such as the button which says "Do a file", but I think you can easily determine that this means go to a directory. If you are fed up with people stealing your code or you have a very big project coming up soon, this could be for you. Download: [XtreamLua Compiler 0.2] View: [Forum release thread] |

If you've ever wanted to make a PSP homebrew game but can't quite wrap your mind around any of the programming languages available then you might want to try out this release from Emeric0101.Called LuaDev, this homebrew app is similar to RPG Maker. It helps users create LUA games quickly and easily. Some new modules included in this release are a Load and Save module as well as a Battle module a la Final Fantasy. Give it a whirl. If you have any questions and suggestions, just click on the 'discuss' link below to head to the QJ forum thread for this release. Also, don't hesitate to show us any of the games you create using this app on the QJ forums. Download: [LuaDev 2.0] Discuss: [Forum release thread] |
