Nintendo and ELSPA have called on the popular flashcart R4 and its tendency to bring about the piracy of Nintendo DS games in the UK market. A recent article on MCV revealed that the Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association, or ELSPA, is considering taking actions to stop the proliferation of flashcarts such as the R4 and M3 in the UK. Learn more after the jump!

The vice president of Electronic Arts' Jeff Brown said some pretty strong words regarding Activision and Vivendi's decision to leave the Entertainment Software Association (ESA). The ELSPA anti-piracy unit was hard at work once again as it found two more illegal video game traders at the Bradford Computer Fair. Over £100,000 in goods were seized by the joint operation conducted between the West Yorkshire Trading Standards Service (WYTSS) and West Yorkshire Police. The recent Byron report released in Europe gave the different classification groups in the region something to think about. Despite advocating a medium between both the BBFC and PEGI rating systems, ELSPA had its own opinion regarding the matter by favoring the PEGI Age Rating System as the sole classification system for video games in Europe. Nintendo wants to send a message that you can't always get away with hacking and pirating. In a recent raid, authorities in the UK cracked down on a website and traced the source of the modchips that it sells. Two people were arrested and some 2,000 chips were seized to be destroyed later.
