A Chaos Chosen Champion wields both magic and weapons - Image 1As we continue to wait for EA Mythic's Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning to follow through on a worldwide release, it seems we could only bide our time by continuing to plan our first avatar in the game. We've all been primed on the two major sides in the game, so now's a good time to consider what role in Chaos or Empire you would want to be.

Today, let's preview one such class from the Chaos side. Aside from the Chaos Knight's swords and Chaos Zealot's Chaotik sorcery, you might want to consider dedicating your duty to the Lord of Change, Tzeentch.

Such fanatical followers are known as Chaos Chosen Champions, and they are hand-picked by Tzeentch himself. Each avatar takes on a life-long duty to forever seeking favor in the eyes of Tzeentch.

Of course, to do so, the heavily armor-clad Chosen wield devious and manipulative Dark Gifts in order to instill fear and confusion to those who dare stands in the way of the Raven God. They are often called to the front lines, offering their gifts to the weaker ally, while fending off enemies with their heaviest blows.

Succumbing to the twisting thoughts of the Lord Tzeentch? Consider dedicating your life and duty to him and become a Chosen Champion, a master of both magical arts and melee combat.

Electronic Arts announced today that id Software's Orcs and Elves is now available for download all across Europe. The award-winning title from id Software and Fountainhead Entertainment was developed exclusively for mobile phones.

Orcs & Elves - Image 1

Following the success of Doom RPG, Orcs & Elves is an epic mobile adventure title that utilizes the next generation Doom RPG graphics engine, resulting in absorbing gameplay coupled with breathtaking attention to detail. Gamers are immersed in an original fantasy universe, combining both first-person action adventures with mind bending puzzles in the ultimate example of good versus evil.

"With Orcs & Elves we were able to take what was great about Doom RPG, and bring tons of new features to the experience in a brand new world," said John Carmack, founder and technical director, id Software. "The pace of development in mobile gaming allows us to evolve by leaps and bounds each year, rather than stretched out over four years like a high end PC or console game."

With over 35 vicious enemies to defeat, each with their own unique A.I. and personality, Orcs & Elves offers hours of continuous spellbinding gameplay and even more hours of replayability. Players will explore an ancient Dwarven fortress riddled with legendary beasts and untold treasures. Wielding mystical weapons, gamers must use their wits to solve the devious puzzles and deadly traps to survive the dangers in Orcs and Elves.

Devious

Devious is a project in the beta stage from Kevin (kid101skater; if we remember correctly, he helped with the Mario Don't Drop the PSP project) and Tarek (over at Deviant PSP). Feedback from a lot of users is that this baby will be better than IR Shell if the improvements keep on coming, but there's still a lot of things that need to be done.

Some of you may already know about this project because Devious was released a while back (October 6) and an update was released several hours later to fix some bugs. As it says on Kevin's post: "I decided to stay up all night last night and work on this. I added some great features. BIG thanks to DreaDNoughT for helping me even more getting this running and with the coding." (You might remember DreaDNoughT's HvS and other games.)

For those of you who want to beta test this, here's what's in Devious beta 0.5:
  • only tested on 1.0 and 1.5 does need kernel
  • MP3 player
  • USB support
  • options (shows battery info as of now)
  • multitask (you can listen to music while doing other things)
  • you can now exit features by pressing both triggers
  • exit gui via start - takes a min
  • a couple bugs but it will get worked out
    • known bugs: sometimes crashes when going back to MP3 or USB for a second time
