LCS CheatDevice v1.0g - works with DevHook, CFWs SE, OE, and M33 - Image 1LCS CheatDevice v1.0g - works with DevHook, CFWs SE, OE, and M33 - Image 2

Homebrew developer Edison Carter rolled out a new build for the much-loved application LCS CheatDevice, bringing it up to version 1.0g. This particular program is to be used with Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and allows gamers to use certain cheats.

Given the previous version of LCS CheatDevice, the most important feature of this build is that the cheat application's PRX is now compatible with DevHook and custom firmwares SE, OE and M33. Edison Carter provided as well the following reminders:

Works with the original or patched U.S. disk and the unpatched UK/EU disk. Sorry, the patched UK/EU disk is not currently supported. Some features are not implemented in the PRX version. Version 1.0g PRX adds support for 3.10OE-A and up. You must use lcscheatdevice371.prx for 3.71 M33 or higher.

LCS CheatDevice v1.0g comes with a Readme.txt file that should provide you with all necessary information regarding installation and usage. Browse through that first before doing anything to avoid problems.

Sony PlayStation Portable - Image 1

One previous release of homebrew developer Weltall's CWCheat made a lot of CFW users weep in happiness. CWCheat Lite Beta 2 was made compatible with M33's (Dark AleX) CFW 3.71 with its features tweaked and updated to work with the said CFW. Now the homebrew dev informs us that CWCheat has been updated again, bringing it to version 0.1.9 Rev. F from Rev. F Beta.

Weltall tells us that this release makes CFW 3.71 compatibility complete, with Home working fine. Fixes that were not included in Revision E, other glitches such as "a little glitch in the function checking the code type if pointer codes were in the same game db entry with other type of codes," and placement of files in archive have been addressed.

Here's the changelog for CWCheat version 0.1.9 Rev F:
  • [ALL] Added support for 3.71m33 firmware
  • [ALL] added prxes for the 3.71m33 kernel lite and full for pops and game. Also an irshell one, although irshell is not available right now.
For 1.50 homebrews use the prx for 3.52m33 and minor even if on 3.71 kernel.
  • [GAME] fixed a little glitch in the function checking the code type if pointer codes were used. Now the pointer codes will work also if not alone in the db
  • [ALL] Removed a delay in the manual cheat apply which resulted in the application waiting 30 seconds before letting the user gaining back control
  • [ALL] Reworked operations being made just before psp reboot (eg: home menu exit). This avoided crashes during this procedure as seen in the betas for 3.71
  • [PACKAGE] Added an MS_ROOT_371 for easy installation on 3.71+ firmware
  • [PACKAGE] now the prx for the various firmwares are on the 3.60- and 3.71+ folders
You can download the file by following the link below, but before installing this latest version of weltall's CWCheat which can cheat every DevHook-compatible game running on CFWs, check out the readme first. Most of it's in Italian, but you can still understand it. Babelfish, people. Enjoy!

PSP Gold - Image 1

Homebrew developer Weltall himself dropped us a line about the latest version of his CWCheat program for the PSP. DevHook-compatible games, look out. It's a new update for our trusty prx and hopefully you've still got your cheat codes with you.

As Weltall says, this revision is mostly for further optimizations and bug fixes to the previous one. He continues with: "Other than these now you can get to the start of an opened text file in the text editor by pressing START and now USB MASS is supported even in game mode of 3.5x firmwares." Check out the full changelog for CWCheat v0.1.9 Rev D:
  • [PACKAGE] removed lite and normal homebrew prx as now it's useless
  • [ALL] Now it's possible to go to the beginning of the opened text file by pressing START
  • [PACKAGE] fixed some errors in the readme
  • [ALL] removed all remaining things about the homebrew build in the source
  • [ALL] various optimizations in the builtin strings
  • [ALL] various optimizations in the text reader
  • [GAME] Fixed USB MASS support in 3.5x game mode. Now you can access again the memory stick while playing you favourite game
If this is your first time to use this homebrew application, all relevant instructions, notes, and information are found in their respective text documents included in the download. Make sure you take a look at the readme. For those who've requested for some way to show support and donate for Weltall's continuous project, he's also provided everyone a PayPal link.

CWCheat v0.1.9 REV C - Image 1 Homebrew developer weltall dropped by QJ.NET PSP Development Forum and rolled out a new version of pet application CWCheat.

If this is the first time you've heard about this program, note that CWCheat is actually a prx which works under DevHook and can cheat every DevHook-compatible game running on custom firmwares.

Anyway, the latest update brings the program up to version 0.1.9 REV C and aside from the usual bug fixes, the biggest addition to it is the possibility of loading up to 128 text files per game id by easily putting a number after the id for the files 1-127.

Here's the complete changelog for this version as provided by weltall:
  • [ALL]
    • Now the text reader supports up to 128 text files per id:
    • Press L/R to go to the previous/next text file.
    • The name is similar to how the cheat.db name works: The first file is named with just the id.txt (just like now), all the others are the id + the number + .txt eg: with SLUS_12345 as id. The first file is SLUS_12345.txt, the next SLUS_123451.txt, SLUS_123452.txt~SLUS_12345127.txt
  • [GAME]
    • Improved disc id detection runtimes and by putting a
    • New check for the mount status of isofs.
    • This improved cwcheat startup speed (were applicable) and compatibility.
    • This should also reduce the risk of the cheat list being corrupted.
  • [ALL]
    • Added detection of vsh mode. So now vsh has it's own id different from the one for homebrews.
    • Cheats for vsh/vsh homebrews which were previously under the "HOMEBREW" id were moved in the new "VSH" id
  • [ALL]
    • Removed redundant code from the function which cleared the screen upon entering the cwcheat menu (if enabled)
    • This fixed also the brave story crash problem as before, most probably, some data stored in the vram was being overwritten.
As always, read first all the included documentation in the download package below (Readme.txt, FAQ, How To's, etc.) before installing CWCheat v0.1.9 REV C on your PlayStation Portables.
