One word that can really stir up excitement is the word "tournament." Incidentally, that's exactly what GGL Global Gaming will be holding for players of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War: Soulstorm. The prizes at stake are nothing to sneeze at, either. For more contest details, just check the full article after the jump. |

For the fortunate fans that managed to get their very own tickets to the BlizzCon event this August (we won't ask how...), there's much more than just Starcraft II goodies, souvenirs, and other delectable freebies that await you. Blizzard has just sent word of three competitions that are expected to take place at the event: the costume, character sound-alike, and dance contests. And in case you're wondering what's in it for the competitors, the site posted some rather tempting prizes for each event's first-prize winners:

Dell has recently announced that it would be updating its Inspironand XPS product portfolios and LCD monitors with some new products. In addition to these new laptops, desktops, and LCD monitors, they have announced a new service they are providing called the Dell Online Backup. This provides 12 months of complimentary online storage space of up to 3 GB for every Inspiron and 10 GB for each XPS product. So what are the new products that the company is introducing? Well, they're coming out with some new laptops and desktops for their Inspiron line, a new ultra slim laptop, and a pair of LCD monitors. Of particular note is the new ultra slim laptop that is being advertised as the world's thinnest 13 inch laptop. The XPS M1330 (pictured in the upper right) happens to be a relatively light 4 pounds and is running on Intel Core 2 Duo Processors. At an initial offering of US$ 1,299 it's not the cheapest of the bunch, but one that you can probably carry around with no difficulty. If your in the market for a new notebook, desktop, or monitor, be sure to head over to the Dell Website to check out their newest products. You might find something you "need". Now if I could only find a way to convince my wife that I needed that ultra slim laptop... |

Most laptops aren't known to be great for gaming, most are used for office purposes, typing, surfing the net, answering emails and stuff, but a few are really up to the task of being a gaming notebook. Eurocom aims to change that. Most of Eurocoms creations are not just suitable, but advisable for gamers everywhere. Take for instance their M590K Emperor which is recommended for serious (not to mention filthy rich) gamers. Now, Eurocom is at it again with the D900K F-Bomb, which promises to be the monster car of gaming notebooks. In a recent review about the said gaming laptop, it was compared with the Dell XPS M1710, another laptop suitable for long hours of gaming joy. Although the author mentioned that "the notebook is large and heavy and, at the peak of gaming action, is noisy and generates lots of heat" those are well compensated by the fact that Eurocom laptop's Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX graphics subsystem is one generation behind the current Go 7900 GTX (the one that the Dell laptop has). Still the D900K provides enough frames per second to power most games, especially at a display resolution of 1024x768. At the end of the comparison, the Eurucom's D900K F-Bomb's main weapon against its Dell counterpart is the fact that is $200 bucks cheaper, but the quality and performance of the cheaper Eurocom gaming laptop is still at par with that of Dell's. Definitely the Eurocom D900K F-Bomb will give the Dell XPS M1710 a run for its money. |

Dell being as popular as it is, any new line that is released will be
closely scrutinized. Some of you may remember my post a while back
about Dell's concept M2010.
Well, D-day - or maybe that should be M-day - has come and Dell have
released the details and specifications of their new lines.M2010 This laptop, set to begin a new style of semi-portable desktops, has one hell of a feature list, but with a hefty price to boot. The starting mark is set at $3500, with three units having base prices up to $4000. For your bucks, you get some of the best hardware to hit large scale computer manufacture. Take note that the unit does have a battery, which means that for those that want to try, you can lug your 20.1", 20 pound, system around. Another impressive feature is the gyroscope enabled remote, possible idea from Wii?:
