Capcom has announced over in the E3 their plans to create a movie based on Lost Planet (PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC). As if that's not interesting enough, the company also detailed that the writer in charge of this production is somebody plenty of you should be very familiar with. It's quite sad that the Japanese won't be having a launch party in honor of Konami's opus, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, but for those who live in the US, the show must go on. If you've played any of the Metal Gear Solid games, you can't possibly miss the distinct voice that Snake has in the game.

Well, even if it isn't a Metal Gear game, it's been confirmed that David Hayter will be reprising his voice acting talents as the gruff special operations agent in Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl for the Wii.

Hayter has been bringing life to Snake's character through his superior voice acting for nine years now and it looks like he won't be giving up his role anytime soon. Ever since the first Metal Gear Solid game, you can't possibly mistake his voice for any other by now.

It's pretty nice to know that the new game will be featuring fresh dialogue instead of rehashed sound clips from the previous Metal Gear Solid games. Either way, Snake will definitely have his hands full trying to go head-to-head with his fellow brawlers in Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

We can expect to hear from Snake and the others when the game ships out this December 3 exclusively for the Wii.

The good news is it looks like the Metal Gear Solid movie is still a go. The bad news is that David Hayter won't be involved with the project.

According to IGN, the man who gave Solid Snake a voice will not be a part of the film. Hayter reportedly pitched his take on the Metal Gear Solid movie project to Konami but the company "opted not to hire him to script and/or produce it".

Konami also reportedly passed on a Hayter-penned big-screen treatment, which according to an insider was kind of like Metal Gear Solid meets "Apocalypse Now" with Snake in the middle of a "swirling whirlpool of Genomic/military madness".
