Mirror's Edge (Xbox 360, PlayStation 3) just gets cooler by the minute. Not only does it have a cool gameplay, it's also got a cool soundtrack. DICE has announced that they will be releasing a Remix album in conjunction with the game's release, and it'll feature the world's best DJs. |

DICE's Mirror's Edge is unquestionably a very "physical" game. Lots of jumping around and scaling from one building to the next -- definitely not your typical daily exercise routine. But it seems like the team sees this physicality going beyond Mirror's Edge, say like even in future Battlefield games. |

Bambi, Evanescence, and video games. Bet you can't find the connection. At the DICE Summit, Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat presented a video featuring Bambi clips set to an Evanescence track in order to demonstrate how games aren't all about the technology. Rather, technology is simply a tool to express a message, one that produces an emotional response from the gamer. More on this in the full article. |

There was a time when developing games in your own garage would have made you rich beyond your wildest dreams. That dream is getting farther and farther out of reach as the video game industry is becoming larger and more complex. EA CEO John Riccitiello remarked in his DICE keynote speech that by 2010, the garage studio dream will no longer be possible. More in the full article. |

Microsoft Game Studios Vice President Shane Kim discussed several choice topics during the recent DICE Summit in Las Vegas last Thursday. Among the things he mentioned were the company's move to expand its userbase into the casual gaming market, more Halo projects and some other small tidbits discussing the state of the gaming company and its plans for the future (a portable handheld gaming console, perhaps?). Read more about what Shane Kim had to say in the full article. |
