The 80s and the 90s can be considered as the golden era of cartoons.
It's the time when the concept of mutant turtles were born, robots as
tall as buildings were created, and talking bears with cute drawings on
their chest was considered cool.Entertainment media has spawned new avenues in modern Earth, but we're sure these old-school cartoons can still kick ass. So in this article, we look at old-school cartoons and wonder how great it would be to have them as a video game. |

Zombies. Can't live with them... period. Thankfully, we have the Onechanbara girls in their cute cowboy-bikini outfits and ridiculously-sharp katanas to take care of business for us, and this time they're doing it on the Nintendo Wii. We get a dose of that sexy blood-splattering action with D3Publisher's Onechanbara R, in this TGS 2007 gameplay video update. While we all know that the Wii isn't as powerful as its competitors, Onechanbara R on the Wii looks strikingly superb. There's no discernable slowdown from the video that we could see, even when the player character is clearly getting mobbed by the game's various monsters. The gameplay mechanics seems to be intact as well, with you requiring to shake off the blood from your sword after you've stuck it in a zombie or two for maximum efficiency. Onechanbara R is definitely looking sweet. Here's to a US release, and enjoy the video!

Thankfully, there's the Retractable Wii Sports Cuff For Remote control. Made of neoprene this time and not cold metal anymore, you attach the cuff to the Wiimote and slap it to your wrist. It is retractable up to 13 inches, with an adjustable wrist band, and it's available in black. Come to think of it, the retractable 13-inch cord could be of help when using the Wiimote as an innovative weapon, ala rodeo cowboy. Haha. The cuff doesn't come in different colors; we'd appreciate a Wii-color scheme. And a bad thing is that the price tag reading US$ 5.99 is already a discounted price. |

Calling all cowboys: Saddle your horses and get ready to ride as Activision games has announced that the PSPs very own cowboy 'simulator' has shipped to game stores across North America today. If free roaming in the nomadic lawless west back in the good old days with drunkenness, prostitutes, and gun slinging is your thing, then you should definitely give Gun Showdown a try. This game gives much more than the title would like to suggest though, with the action-adventure hybrid having much more proportion than your average first person shooter as the 'bullets fly, people die' trailer shows. Gun Showdown expands on what previous games have left behind, allowing you to take control of the untamed West on both sides of the law. Firstly as a gunslinger, you must shoot, knife and dynamite your way through an epic story. Good cop or bad cop, it's your choice. You'll be overjoyed that you bought your PSP when you get to see the game's list of features, taking full advantage of the PSPs technical abilities with a brand new wireless multiplayer and Quickplay modes, exclusive missions, and gameplay features that you won't find on any other console. In Gun Showdown, players have a licence to dish out vigilante vengeance as you face-off against corrupt lawmen, a murderous preacher, a renegade army psychopath, and merciless outlaws that won't listen any other way. In a world where greed, lust and murder reign, the only way to survive is to wage war on horseback, hold up banks, collect bounties on prisoners dead or alive, and commandeer trains as the lines between good and evil are drawn in blood. If you fancy a break from all the killing and bloodshed then you can settle down with multiplayer modes which allow you to team up or go head-to-head in Showdown mode; includes Deathmatch, Golden Cross and Texas Hold 'Em poker gameplay modes via the PSPs wireless network capabilities. Now doesn't that sound fun? What are you waiting for, it's out today! Preorder: [GUN Showdown] |

Okay, let's take a horde of zombies. Then let's add in a girl dressed in a skimpy outfit. Throw in a cowboy hat and a sword for the girl and we've got Oneechanbara X. Oh, and don't forget the lacy pink underwear. This zombie-infested action game is D3 Publisher and Tamsoft's new offering for the Xbox 360. Oneechanbara X (also known as Chambara Beauty X: The Devil Evolution Human, Chambara Beauty X, and Oneechanbara X: The Devil Evolution Human) for the Xbox 360 will be released in Japan on December 31st. US release date is yet to be announced. While we wait for more info on when we can hack, slash, and mutilate our way through all those zombies, check out the screenshots.

Monkeyboy1916's mod for DeNitro and Devin923's PSP Revolution, Anime Style,
is saying sayonara for now. Maybe, you're thinking that he has already
announced that in version three, but because of some bugs that were
found in that game's release, he continued to refine his work. This
time though, it's the real deal.
"Unfortunatly this is my last version this time, only because there aren't many more songs worth adding, but when a new version of PSP Revolution comes out I will be here to update Anime Style, and maybe throw in a couple songs," says Monkeyboy1916 on the letter he sent QJ. However, the recent additions to his mod would make it a farewell to remember. Since the last release, there are a number of new animes added to the pack like Samurai Champloo, Ruronin Kenshin, Ghost in the Shell, Eureka Seven and Cowboy Bebop. The previously included anime packs were given new tracks as well. Download: [Anime Style v4] The full song list awaits after the jump! |
