Developer qw3rky has recently released a homebrew map detailing the routes used on Cleveland's rapid transit system. We imagine the DS owners in that area will want to give this app a look. Details are available in the full article.Download:Cleveland Rapid Transit Map |

It won't take long for 2K Sports to have its All-Pro Football 2K8 soundtrack release kicking off after the game's release, but before they let it loose on the gridiron, they're making sure it makes a stylish entrance, and that's why they called in DJ Z-Trip to do the job.DJ Z-Trip, one of the more popular names in his field, has come up with some killer mixes to get you riled up and set the mood for hard-hitting, fast-running, in-your-face football action on the Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360. The Entertainment and Leisure Software Publishers Association (ELSPA) is happy to announce that its anti-piracy raid yesterday in the Billingham area and in Lingdale North East of England was successful. Modified consoles seized include Wii, DS, Xbox 360, PlayStation 2 (PS2), and the PlayStation Portable (PSP). The raid was done with the help of police officers from from the Cleveland Police Economic Crime Unit in conjunction with Stockton Police. Two Trading Standards securities were also at hand during the operation and a total of three individuals were caught in three different areas. Aside from the consoles, modchips and modified games were also recovered. "We were delighted with the outcome of this operation, finding and bringing criminals to book. We now call on all police and trading standards authorities to act with the same level of commitment in order to protect legitimate businesses and consumers against these exploitative criminals," shared ELSPA Managing Director Michael Rawlinson. Likewise, Cabinet Member for Community Protection Dave McLuckie is satisfied with the way the operation was carried out. He added that this raid is for the people after all, "People should be aware that by buying pirated equipment they are buying something that is unlikely to be of good quality and ultimately leads to a complete waste of their money." |

Heads up, NBA Street fans! Perkins Park, the playground that saw the makings of LeBron James as an NBA superstar, is coming to you via Xbox Live on April 2 so you can brush up those playground moves and break some ankles with that killer cross-over.
Nike and Cleveland's very own LeBron James helped the developers bring the famous playground to life. The wait for the new court to be available via Xbox Live can be a pretty long one for the hardcore hoop fan, but the people over at EA Sports made sure that there will be something on March 26 to keep ballers preoccupied. Dropping to the 'hood on the March date are NBA Street legends Stretch, Bonafide, Drake and more. When you get these characters, you'll be glad to know that Jordan gear will be included in the package so you can customize your jammer with everything from the classic Air Jordan I to the new Jordan Melo M3's. With so much new stuff getting ready getting ready to make the b-ball experience with Street a better one, you and your homies ought to stock up on Microsoft points so you can be among the first to flash the new blings. |

The Eastern Conference All-Stars, powered by 2006 NBA All-Star MVP LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, is expected to "reign supreme" at the NBA All-Star 2007 in Las Vegas in a final score tally of 136-129. The Cleveland Cavalier star and the Miami Heat scorer took control of the game early and kept the Western Conference at bay, even with a late rally led by Los Angeles Lakers' and NBA '07's cover star Kobe Bryant. Also simulated was the Skills Challenge, where Kobe Bryant still proves why he is a sure win for the Most Valuable Player of the Year award, even with the first round won by Dwyane Wade. For the 3-point Shootout Simulation, Dallas Mavericks' Dirk Nowitzki just barely won over Gilbert Arenas of the Washington Wizards. The simulations were carried out by using the AI incorporated into Sony Computer Entertainment America's NBA '07 and the hardware processing in the Playstation 3. The demonstration shows the state-of-the-art AI and authentic gameplay from motion-captured and realistically-modelled NBA players. Take a look at the screenshots captured during the simulation. |

It's not often you see an educational app on the PSP, with the exception of those brain training games. Well, we're pleased to see SuperbatXS' foray into educational homebrew media with the beta release of Biographies of US Presidents. As the name connotes, the application gives you a basic biography of the first 29 presidents, from George Washington to Grover Cleveland. Some of these presidents did happen to fall through the cracks of history, but they do manage to get some kind of representation here. We're not too hot with the use of Wikipedia for the information on some of these entries, as Wiki has a tendency to be wrong on certain occasions, but it's still a worthy try (as far as we can remember of US history). As always, check the readme to find out how to install and use the application. You can expect him to update this one if he gets enough support and constructive criticism, so let him know what you think, alright? Here's some good news for those who have obesity problems but are afraid to go under the knife. Over at the Cleveland Clinic where a three-day meeting on obesity is being hosted, Dr. Philip Schauer has revealed that soon they just might be able to cut the fat without cutting patients up.Normally, in order to do such operations, doctors would have to open up the patient to gain access to the organ. But now, they are looking at new technology that will enable them to get into the patient's digestive system by merely inserting a tube through the mouth; hence requiring absolutely no incision at all. This method, known as Natural Orifice Transendoscopic surgery (NOTE), shall make use of long tubes with robotic arms and staple guns snaking down the esophagus. Supposedly, this is much more safer, and also comes with a lower-cost proportion compared to doing surgeries with incisions. They are also looking into it as a preemptive operation for those patients who are less obese than those currently being considered for surgery. Dr. Schauer also shares that another possibility could be the insertion of a sleeve, or a tube, into the intestines that would interfere with calorie absorption. Or, if the procedure necessitates work in the lower portion of the intestines, the instruments could be inserted through the rectum. However, all these are still mere possibilities, as they expect technology to be developed for it in about five to 10 years' time. So until this happens, those who need to shape up for their health would just have to brave it out at the operation table. But hey, at least there's something to look forward to, right? |
