Polish site GRY-Online has said that a sequel for Atari's Test Drive Unlimited is currently in the works, and this time, it will be making its rounds on both the PC and the Xbox 360. It is also alleged that the game will be up and running come March of next year, with lots of new surprising tricks and turns for all you racing aficionados out there. For one, the supposed TDU 2 will feature hot rides from makers such as Ferrari, Bugatti, Pagani, Saleen, McLaren and a whole lot more. There will also be a couple of new off-road cars to be introduced in the sequel, along with SUVs, 4WD, enduro bikes, and even buggies. According to the information trickling in, courses will be roughly about 1500 square kilometers, with winding streets and long stretches of highways, as well as, off-road tracks for your off-road vehicles. There will also be several online modes, just to keep that fun flowing. However, don't get too excited just yet. We haven't gotten any confirmation on this, so we'll be tagging this only as a rumor for now. But not to worry, we'll be right on it as soon as we hear any more official word from Atari on the supposed Test Drive Unlimited 2. |

Feel a need for speed?
Whether it's on land, air, or water, some people just crave the adrenaline rush and the wind sheer when going at insane speeds. Here's an homage to the fastest civilian vehicles you can get to reach that speed high. On land: Bugatti Veyron 16.4 It's the fastest and most powerful street legal car in the world. This supercar has 10 radiators, 16 cylinders, and a 7-speed dual clutch. It can go up to more than 400 kph (an insane 407.5 kph to be exact or 253.2 mph). Breakneck subsonic speeds requires a special key. Upon activation, the car lowers to be more aerodynamic and the spoiler retracts to reduce air friction. It's W16 engine is capable of getting up to 1,000 horsepower, taking it from zero to 60 in 2.5 seconds. With the pedal to the metal full throttle, this two-ton, mid four wheel drive coupe can guzzle up its full tank of gas in 12 minutes or 80 kilometers (just under 50 miles). See the fastest on air and at sea after the jump! |

This post is for all the guys out there who like to live fast: fast games, fast rides, and fast death. Nah, I'm just kidding 'bout the last one but anyway, what we're really here for today is to bring you the latest issue of Road & Track, a magazine which you can view on your PSPs and tackles everything you need to know about the upcoming hottest rides of the big two-oh-oh-seven. I'm no expert on cars, but when I browsed through the mag and saw the cars featured in this issue, I must say they definitely are drool-worthy. But sadly, they're also oh-so-expensive, so I guess for hardcore car fanatics, having them hot rides on your PSP could be enough for that much needed autorgasm. Included in this month's issue are in-depth profiles of the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 and the very hawt Toyota FT-HS. The Comparison Test portion of the mag also pits the TT Quattro and Cayman against each other to see which one's faster, and more deserving of your attention. That said, we bring you guys the January 2007 issue, which you can get right now by clicking on the link below. Download: [Road & Track - January 2007] |

Another luxury car is in trouble yet again. Tsk, tsk, tsk.Given the new airbag regulations imposed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Bugatti's only car Veyron will need some tinkering for it to make the grade. And this "some tinkering" we're talking about will add at the very least, ten percent to its cost. Company President Thomas Bscher even went the distance in saying that this could put them out of business. "The new regulation, which go into effect in September, would cause Bugatti 'substantial economic hardship' and have a 'catastrophic' impact on sales." Curiously though, in a similar case back in May, Ferrari was granted an exemption from the new rules for its F430 super car. Bscher added further that this could delay, if not stop, the development of the next-generation Veyron due in 2009. He promised, though, that they will meet the regulation by then. |
