Mii versions of Shuzo Matsuoka and Sanma Akashiya - Image 1

Two Japanese comedians are making an appearance on the Wii - or at least their Miified selves. This is part of another exclusive Japanese promotion from Nintendo Japan. There are no reports that this will also be done elsewhere. (*insert collective moans here*)

Shuzo Matsuoka (formerly a pro tennis player) and Sanma Akashiya have been a part of Nintendo Japan's Wii ad campaign for some time, and now their Miis are going to be sent to Wiis all over Japan. They have also been in various commercials where they show how to make a Mii. Their Miis will be sent out automatically to those Wiis set up to the Wii Connect 24 and will be available until March 29. They are sort of limited, as they will disappear if you send them to another player.

Hmm... That would make Mii parades more interesting, wouldn't it? Too bad the promotion's exclusive. We'd love a Miified Angelina Jolie or Brandon Routh.

Supes does a photo opIGN managed to interview Brandon Routh about Superman Returns: The Videogame from Electronic Arts (Xbox 360 and Nintendo DS), voice acting for games, making money on games, and Iowans.

Brandon said some interesting things (he said a lot of things, but let's get to the game-related points):
  • He said he's not worried about the fact that every other Superman game has sucked. He thinks this game stands out because of the team that worked on it.
  • You have to overact a little or put in more energy when doing video game voices because you're not seeing a real person speaking.
  • He only gets paid for the voice acting if the game sells.
  • You don't make a lot of money on your first movie.
  • He said EA has fantastic games, many of which he owns and plays.
  • He owns a PS3.
  • Brandon thinks it's only in Ames (Iowa State University country - go Cyclones!) where people put honey on their pizza crust. Yes, I know this isn't game-related.
Speaking of Iowans and our strange habits, let me share a bit of Iowan humor. OK, I came up with this joke - please don't flame me.

Question: Do you know Superman Returns: The Videogame?
Answer: Why? Who did he borrow it from?

Get it? Superman returns the videogame! Hahahaha. Admit it. That was funny.

Superman Returns

Superman Returns will be landing soon on your Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, and PSP, but not before these new videogame screens. Indeed, Clark Kent's alter ego seems to be in a really good shape to save the Metropolis from all kinds of looming disasters and catastrophe. Join this Krypton local as he flies around in his classic red cape (fine, even his classic red drawers) combatting villains out to do no good.

With a storyline derived from the movie and more than 60 years of comic book content's worth, this game is sure to keep you up and about. And with actors Brandon Routh (Superman/Clark Kent), Kevin Spacey (Lex Luthor), Kate Bosworth (Lois Lane), Parker Posey (Kitty Kowalski) and Sam Huntington (Jimmy Olsen) reprising their roles from the film for the video game, saving the world has never been as breezy as this.

Superman: Returns

It hasn't been long since Superman once again invaded our movie screens with the release of Superman Returns featuring newcomer Brandon Routh; whose presence was mesmerizing on film. The same analogy goes for Team Blackbolt and their MC360 themes.

Coming from a long hiatus, the team finally made an announcement on what has been keeping them busy over the past weeks as is fully covered in an earlier article. In this article, the first updates on the Superman: Returns theme was also mentioned. And finally, the long wait is finally over - the Superman Theme has returned.

Brandon RouthOkay, let's get one thing straight - Brandon Routh is NOT a "superman." However, he does play a Superman in the impending film release, Superman Returns.

This is no small thing. Despite the fame, fortune and glamour, being an actor is hard work. When one is on the set, they're working 12-16 hours a day, often having to do a shot several times - or worse, having to just stand by with nothing to do. Small wonder then, that folks in the "profession" look for an escape. Sadly, in too many cases, this "escape" takes the form of drugs or alcohol.

In Mr. Routh's case, that escape is World Of Warcraft. "I just like that world. I love medieval time and swords and horses and that kind of thing," Routh says. "It's fun to live that out, and I can play with some friends who also enjoy the game. It's challenging and mentally engaging. It's just fun."

Mr. Routh declined to say who his character is, or on which realm he plays.
