A little while earlier, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) strutted its lineup of PlayStation Network downloadable games with names in tow. There were about 10 games mentioned by the games division of Sony, and if you weren't familiar with all of them, this update should keep facts in check. But what a huge update it is! Every game comes complete with screenshots paired with their respective primers - a collection spruced up just for the E3 Media & Business Summit. Covering all these is a valiant undertaking that could only deserve a pizza and a can of ice-cold, refreshing Coke, and you know we deserve it. Below, we've got Blast Factor: Advanced Research, Nucleus, Pixel Junk, and Super Stardust HD. Take a deep breath, then dive into the first four of the eight games that you are most likely unfamiliar with right after the Full Article jump. |

Brace yourselves PlayStation 3 gamers, for Sony has lined up tons of downloadable games coming to the PlayStation Network soon. During their lengthy conference at the E3 Media & Business Summit, Sony talked about titles soon to be distributed over PSN including that of SCE Liverpool's WipEout HD, Idol Mind's PAIN and even Incognito Entertainment's Warhawk. In a previously released announcement over press wire, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) named Bluepoint Games' Blast Factor: Advanced Research, Jon Mak's Everyday Shooter, Yuke's Go! Sports Ski, SCEA San Diego's High Velocity Bowling, Kuju Entertainment's Nucleus, Q Games' PixelJunk Racers and Super Stardust HD, among others, as games soon to be available over PlayStation 3 via the PlayStation Network. Trailers of PAIN and WipEout HD were provided during the presentation along with some commentary, while PlayStation Home was mentioned for a fleeting five minutes, which included mention of it's fall release to be on target. Evolution Studios' MotorStorm and Ninja Theory's Heavenly Sword had features presented during the conference which were Home-related, showing off Home's ability to launch any PlayStation 3 game and host virtual spaces for Sony titles. |

We mentioned yesterday that Sony Japan will be updating its roster of PSOne games to be played on the PSP. As we all know, these titles can be accessed via the PlayStation Store. Moreover, the online store will not be called that if it doesn't cater to PS3 titles too. With that said, gaming site Kotaku has a heads up for everybody about future microtransactions for Genji: Days of the Blade and Blast Factor. Accordingly, Genji will be getting a costume pack while the other download, which is for Blast Factor, involves a "Co-op Play Download Pack." According to reports, the said costume pack will be readily available for free for a limited time in the Japanese market when the game launches on December 31. As of now, there is still no available information regarding the date they will go live as well as price points. Genji was developed by Game Republic and is about the historical battles in the feudal days in Japan while Blast Factor is a download-only shooter by Bluepoint Games. |

The PlayStation Network is rooting into stuff for the PS3, and so far, there seems to be a solid backbone of games that will be available. One of which is flOw (Flow, flow, FLOW - whichever way you'd want to spell it), a simple and straightforward game that gets addicting once you get the, umm, flow.
Another game of the "straightforward but addicting" category is Blast Factor from Bluepoint games. Threading old school and new school in a game, the game plays like a space shooter, but with a twist. There's still the sci-fi feel of it, but instead of planets, you explore specimens. In each specimen there are cells in which you'd have to decontaminate. Your goal: eliminate the free radicals and survive. Simple enough? Think again and watch the video! Thursday was supposed to be the announcement to the Press of the game titles for the PS3's online service. But apparently, someone got way lucky over at NeoGAF and was able to get hold of not only infos about the game, but also of a whole bunch of screenshots. The game titles leaked are Blast Factor, FlOw, Go! Sudoku, Lemmings 2, and Swizzleblocks. Though not all have screenshots and game info, we're nonetheless glad to have stumbled upon this treasure.
Have your fill of the upcoming e-titles for the PS3 below. Blast Factor: This arcade game puts together the "old school" and "new school". From Bluepoint games, gamers will be given a treat with the stunning visuals as they go through specimen by specimen, cell by cell, "exploring an all-new world and gameplay experience." The full article awaits after the jump! |
