Tom Morello - Image 1Living guitar legend Tom Morello of Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave has confirmed in a recent Rolling Stone interview that he's going to be one of the bosses in Activision and RedOctane's upcoming Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. He said he loved the game and is hoping to be a competitive character.

"Whenever I play Guitar Hero, my opponent always kicks my ass on my own riffs," says Morello. "Now that I'm actually in the game, I hope the digital me will win once in a while!"

Morello has been distinguished because of his trademark synthetic riffs and politically-charged numbers while with Rage Against the Machine. He continued to play mean melodies in his stint with super group Audioslave alongside former Sound Garden frontman Chris Cornell.

Brett Michaels of Poison and Slash of Guns n' Roses have earlier been named as bosses in Guitar Hero III. RedOctane promises more legends to challenge when the game launches later this year for the Microsoft Xbox 360, Sony PlayStation 3 and Nintendo Wii.

AugustanaThe "Artist of the Month" feature over at Xbox Live is a result of the year-long agreement of Microsoft with Epic Records. The program gives members access to exclusive HD entertainment content from today's stars. Previous artists featured include Cartel, The Fray and Audioslave. The list becomes even more exciting this October as Microsoft goes with the young band Augustana.

The five members of Augustana hail from different locations all over the country but they are more known as the band from Greenville, Illinois. This former college band is thrilled to be this month's chosen pick. "Being the Xbox Live ‘Artist of the Month’ is a great opportunity for us to play against and chat with our fans around world," shares vocalist Dan Layus.

Xbox Live members can download three free Augustana videos which include "Boston," "Boston Live Performance" and "Stars and Boulevards." Select Xbox Live Gold members will also have the opportunity to play with the band during the Xbox Live's "Game with Fame" 90-minute session.

Sudoku is a big hit and we still don't know why we're so addicted with it, considering most people hate Math. Sudoku most likely will stay on as long as the Crossword puzzles had.

We've got Carol Voderman's Sudoku Video for you so you can have a taste of the gameplay before you buy the game. What we liked about it was that unlike other games, it gave us an option to find out the game's history without going on the internet. We tend to like such subtleties. At least now we know more about the game, let's go on to the game play itself.

We see that you can choose a profile for this game. There seems to be five profiles available. In this case Mikey chooses his profile. There's a main menu where you can choose single, multiplayers options. There are helpful tutorial videos, a Sudoku Solver, the high scorers, and options.

In the single player option, you're given the classic, arcade, career, and (ehem) Challenge Carol Option. I don't know about you guys but Carol V. has an IQ of 154. So let's move on to the Classic Sudoku shall we? There, you're given difficulty options such as easy, medium, difficult, and super-difficult. Let's choose easy.

As you can see and hear, it has a nice layout to it. When you've entered the right numbers they just pop up all over the screen like crazy. If we were standing behind someone playing this, we would've sworn he was playing an FPS with all the clicking and explosions abound. We wonder what the Arcade version looks like, we expect it to sound and look even noisier!

When you pause the game, options are available again. Resume game, assists, controls, audio, auto highlights, auto save, active, and quit. We also see, the multiplayer version with the following options, head-to-head, quickfire, and time-attack. We'll try to get more info as soon as we get them, the quickfire option has us stoked.

Thanks to Mikey for this cool video!

And for those (still) not in the know, Audioslave is an alternative rock group headed by Chris Cornell (of Soundgarden fame) and the musicians of Rage Against the Machine. Audioslave

Today Microsoft announced that their Xbox Live Artist of the Month for August is rock band Audioslave. During the course of this month, there are going to be numerous giveaways for Xbox Live members, including a free version of the group’s latest video for “Original Fire,” a chance to play and chat with Audioslave over Xbox Live in Madden NFL 07 when it ships later this month, plus the chance to win an Xbox 360 and a copy of Audioslave’s latest CD, Revelations. As an added bonus, fans can download exclusive behind-the-scenes video footage of the band at work and play.

Audioslave began recording its third album, including hit single “Original Fire” almost as soon as it came off the road last winter after touring behind 2005’s Out of Exile. Love, life and loss are all themes on the new album. Audioslave’s song “Revelations” will also be featured on the Madden NFL 07 video game soundtrack.

To count down the days to Madden’s release, Xbox Live Marketplace will offer new Madden bonus materials every day starting the 1st of August until the game launches on the 22nd of the same month, including game trailers, NFL gamer pics and themes, as well as behind-the-scenes development interviews and downloadable stadiums. So if you're into Audioslave go ahead and check out all the goodies that will be available this month.
