Annual event Apple Expo is generally considered as the European counterpart of Macworld Expo. Both events boast of sales conference and technology exposition organized by Apple and some other exhibitors. To those of you who have been following this, be informed that registration for Apple Expo 2007 is now open.
As always, the show will be held in Paris France, specifically in Porte de Versailles. It will run from September 25 to 29 and entrance fees are pegged at 12 Euros or roughly around US$ 16.33 for each individual. We looked at the conference's official site for further info but Apple hasn't listed any yet. We believe that this year's event is going to be very exciting. Last year's expo saw the introduction of two new iPods as well as a new iMac. And you might be intrigued to know that Apple Expo 2005 didn't have any keynote speeches and Apple didn't drop big bombs save for a lone .mac bundle. So this could mean that they're saving their big guns for this year. The Read link should take you to the event's site where you can register and read other details. |

iPod aficionados, listen up! Apple has just unveiled the latest reincarnation of one of their best-selling products, the iPod Nano. Currently being advertised under the tagline "Completely Remastered", Apple couldn't have been more accurate with their description as the new generation of iPod Nanos have received a complete overhaul.
The new iPod Nano, which has been informally dubbed as the iPod Nano Color, now has an even thinner body and now looks more like an iPod Mini because of its rounded edges. Also, the display of the new Nano is now 40% brighter than that of the model it replaces, and the battery has also been modified to allow up to 24 hours of continuous use. These Nanos are also available in Black, White, Green, Blue, and Pink and comes in capacities of 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB, with the 2GB model expected to retail for $149. So as we wait for these little babies to make their way to our nearest electronics shop, here's the new ad for the product for you to enjoy in the meantime. Buy: [New iPod Nano] |

According to sources, Apple are going to take advantage of their media event on September 12th to introduce two new iPods and a new iMac. The new iPods includes the second-generation of the popular mini MP3 player that goes by the name of the iPod Nano and its bigger brother, the updated fifth-generation iPod. Apparently, additional members of the media will be invited to attend the September 12th event during this week. Th event will be big, as Apple has gone through lots of trouble to get worldwide media attention. The event will be held near Apple's Cupterino, Calif. headquarters and will be carried by a private satellite feed to a central London location for members of the European press. The items revealed on the day are expected to be on show at the Apple Expo Paris - which also kicks off on September 12. The new nano will sport increased capacities and be available in multiple colors with a metal finish. The upgraded iPod, meanwhile, is expected to sport increased capacities at the same price points. As far as the iMac goes, expect to see faster Core 2 Duo processors inside and the addition of a new, high-end 23-inch model which we are interested in. Stay tuned to QJ on September 12th for updates. |

OpenOffice is a popular alternative for Microsoft Office, and can run on multiple platforms. It's an open-source project which is compatible with major office suites and is free for downloading and distribution. (Dontcha just love open-source?) Well, if you're already an OpenOffice user, we got some good news for you.Next month, OS X users will be able to get a "Mac-native" version of OpenOffice. What's the diff, you say? Well, previous versions of OpenOffice required users to install the X11 Windows System. This graphical interface allows Unix-based applications to run on Macs. But now, the new version of OpenOffice won't require this anymore and will become a "true" Mac application - a native. This updated build will most likely make its first appearance during the OpenOffice.org Convention in Lyon, France, in mid-September and will also grace the Apple Expo in Paris from September 12 to 16. |
