blast from the past wood clock - Image 1 Just because it's not metal doesn't mean you can't call it a gadget. Sometimes organic stuff can be more complex than mechanical gizmos. If you want something classy, organic and biodegradable, this timepiece is for you.

This early 1900's pocket watch from Mother Russia. It's all wood from the shell, to the gears and even the hands, and don't say that it can't tell the date and years, because it can do just that- just look at the rings.

Anyway, if you're one of those people who are into antique-y stuff, then maybe this timepiece could just be the thing for you. It will certainly take you back in time. Oh, and you might want to bring out your bifocals for this, too.

Box ArtLast time, Emily Bello gave us some info regarding Neverwinter Nights 2 pre-release toolset. Now, she just informed us that the Neverwinter Nights 2 Limited Edition will be available for pre-order at participating retail stores nationwide.

The said pack will include numerous collectibles such as the following: the Blessed of Waukeen feat that grants bonus to all saving throws, 2 special items, unique weapon access, a magical golden aura that surrounds PCs, detailed cloth map, a Book of Art, and 2 silver antique rings: Good & Evil. Quite a lot goodies and it ain't even Christmas yet. Unfortunately, there were no other details included in the tip. Looks like we'll have to wait until this little beauty actually ships.

This game has all the looks of a successful franchise. The first installment sold more than 2 million copies in over 40 countries, and translated into at least 10 languages. Players have also done nearly 4,000 modifications of the game, using the famed Aurora toolset. A more feature-rich set will be released with the new game this October.

A lot talk is going on about the Blu-Ray and its viability as a new medium. Despite detractors saying that Sony is once again putting all of its eggs in one basket, it's nice to see that Sony is making a decent push for the medium.

Below is a "high concept" advert for the Blu-Ray that Sony has released. It starts out slow, following a guy walking into what looks like an antique shop. Nothing much happens really, the camera just focuses on really old stuff. It then transitions into an AVP like presentation of the advantages of Blu-Ray. Nothing you haven't already heard about the Blu-Ray. Play the video to see for yourself.

They really are pushing the "DVD is antiquated, The Blu-Ray is the future" angle of theirs, aren't they? Will the format fly? Only the consumers will decide.

Samsung E500 VersusSamsung and Versace's Versus brand have teamed up to come up with stylish, innovative, and practical phones that will be original enough to appeal to the younger generation. The first product of this alliance is the Samsung E500 Versus, which applies the stylishness of Versus to Samsung's original SGH-E500.

As it is based on SGH-E500, Samsung E500 Versus will have a 1.3 megapixel camera, Music Player, and Bluetooth squeezed into its clamshell form. What will mark the Samsung-Versus phone is the color - while the Samsung clamshell came in champagne gold, the Samsung-Versus creation offers three color combinations: white and gold, white and antique pink, and black and silver.

Samsung E500 Versus will be out in the Italian market by the end of August.

car deskNothing reveals a person's true personality than a personal desk. If it's an antique table named after some dead member of European Royalty, you know the person sitting behind it either reeks with old world class or just overly pretentious.

The Mini Statements Car Desk, on the other hand, says its owner loves car in way that is illegal in many states! Just kidding! This baby has got to be the coolest thing with four legs (or wheels). The entire desk is designed to look like real Mini yet functional enough not to be classified under "toy for people with too much disposable income."

Disposable cash is what you need to buy the Mini Statements Car Desk: $4,400.  And even if you can afford it, will they let you park it at your work station assuming you don't sell second cars for a living?

Antique Radio Speaker for your iPod

I don't know what it is about mixing old with the new when it comes to the iPod, but there have been numerous numbers of retro and vintage inspired docks and speakers that have been featured here on the site. Now, how about just skipping all that era and making a classy antique speaker for your iPod. Hopefully, the price value for this project will be like that of a certified antique.

1. Obeyken bought an Art Deco 1947 National Union G-619 for $25 at a flea market. A good buy considering that all the knobs, feet, glass and dial windows are original. The mahogany cabinet may be a little scuffed and the grille fabric a little frayed, but we are gunning for the antique look aren't we?

A 001

The rest of the steps await after the jump!
