Sony's going on a break, guys. Well, it is Thanksgiving after all. But while you may miss their updates on their site, the upside is they're not leaving you empty-handed. That's right, the PlayStation Store Update comes out early today, so you can enjoy those treats sooner and you'll be busy enough to not even notice they're away. Will you guys miss us if we go on a holiday? |

You've got Nicole Kidman endorsing Brain Age, the two American Idol Davids dancing in their underwear for Guitar Hero TV spots, and then there's... well, Jade Raymond promoting Assassin's Creed. OK, the last one technically doesn't fit in the category of celebrities endorsing video games, but now, here comes Natasha Bedingfield to lend her diva power to Boogie SuperStar. Plus, EA's also revealed the full tracklist for the game. (which, unfortunately for some people, includes the Jonas Brothers... o_0) |

Speaking words of wisdom: let it be, let it be. Well, we do hope it will be - because if recent news holds out, we just might get a Beatles release for Rock Band or Guitar Hero (maybe for both games, if Lucy's diamonds shine down on us just right) - just like how Aerosmith got their own version for Guitar Hero. Back in March, ATV Music (in partnership with Sony) already expressed interest in bringing the Fab Four's music to GH. Recent accounts, however, report that a deal may finally be settled in the coming weeks. |

Guitar Hero World Tour finally gets tagged with a price, as listed on GameStop, with various bundles across the platform versions. The complete band kit includes the game, the guitar peripheral, drums, and microphone. And since it's a weekend, we've included something special for the American Idol fans: as seen in the finale, David Cook and David Archuleta are advertising for Guitar Hero... in their undies. Wait. What?! |

Have you seen the latest TV ad for Apple's iPod Touch? As expected, it was slick and stylish as are most things Apple. The presentation was a nice experience with light music. Best of all, it debuted on American Idol. If you missed it, don't worry. We've got it for you and you can play it when you visit the full article. |

Championship Gaming Series

Gamers turning pro aren't rare anymore, and guys spending lots of time to improve their game are more cool than geeky nowadays. If StarCraft is almost South Korea's national sport, it's not impossible for other countries to realize that video games can be good spectator sports. UK broadcasting company took notice, and will now feature the Championship Gaming Series on TV.Big tourneys have been on TV before, sure. What makes CGS a lot more epic is how the top 20 players will walk away as pro-gamers earning bread by playing games. Still not exciting enough? "Pro-gaming has reached a level of maturity and reach that makes it a natural fit with Sky's entertainment business," said Adrian Pilkington, director of Enhanced TV and Games for Sky. In other words, CGS aims to capture not only current gamers, but also intrigue others that aren't into gaming yet. Skeptics would say it's not fun when you're not playing, but Pilkington has something in mind. He told GamePro in an interview: People will watch CGS for the same reasons that sports fans like
watching football or golf - because they want to watch the best players
make the best plays. Pro-gamers have incredible hand-eye
coordination that you wouldn't believe unless you see it. It's
important too that viewers get to know the players and their
personalities, so we'll be following the gamers outside of the games as
part of each show. Sounds like American Idol, much? Apparently not, because no reality show can beat massive competitions on TV where we can see the best plays in FIFA, Dead or Alive, Project Gotham Racing, and even the classic Counter-Strike. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem like PS3 games are on, while the Wii is still under consideration. "The online qualifications have been open to anyone with an Xbox or PC," Pilkington continued. |

Dropping screenshots like it's hot is Electronic Arts: more pics for Boogie have just limelighted onto the scene. And because Blake Lewis didn't win American Idol, some of us might think that we don't stand a chance to bust out our grooves anymore. Leave it to EA to come up with this booty-shaking game. Whether you're the type of performer who sings, dances, or does both, Boogie will fill you in with the juice. Heck, you can even create your own music videos if you want. In the screenshot above, you can see the interface of how to do just that. You can add your own effects, play with cuts, add some lyrical text of your own... The whole world's your playground dance floor, kid. Catch the disco fever with more pics below! More screens behind the Full Article link below! |

Nintendo's pride and glory, Shigeru Miyamoto, was nominated more than a week ago by the people behind TIME Magazine to be one of the Most Influential People of the Year in The TIME 100. After an introductory write up by Quake's own Johnathan Wendel, a.k.a. Fatal1ty, the man behind the phenomenal Mario and Donkey Kong is now pegged at the 92nd spot of the Top 100 list. Now we do know that the spot isn't as impressive as PC World's placing of Blizzard's Mike Morhaime in the recent Top 50 Most Influential People on the Web, but seeing as he went up against the likes of Paris Hilton and titans from other industries other than the video game, we say 92 is definitely a big slice of the pie. In fact, bagging the 100th spot at the Top 100 list of TIME is already way too good to pass up. In other news (or just FYI), top spot was filled by philanthropist and Hollywood hottie Angelina Jolie, honored for her major influence on the needy. But top on the readers' lists is Korean pop sensation Rain, with (surprise!) American Idol's Sanjaya Malakar on third place. According to all you gaming readers out there, Shigeru Miyamoto is number nine in your book. Photo courtesy of Makoto Ishida for TIME Magazine. |
