Anato Wo Yurusanai - Image 1Those who are into gaming just for the stories can check out AQ Interactive and ChunSoft's "sound novel" Anato Wo Yurusanai (I Won't Forgive You), and according to the latest TV spot for this sound novel, it promises to provide more entertainment compared to just reading plain black text over white background. This short TV ad shows a row of women reading, with one of them blissfully poring through Anato Wo Yurusanai in her PSP, reading as well as playing at the same time. Hmmm... It sounds an awful lot like playing through Phoenix Wright.

Anato Wo Yurusanai website updated with new videos - Image 1Sound novel fans may want to check out AQ Interactive's website for some new updates on their upcoming title Anato Wo Yurusanai (translated as I Won't Forgive You) for Sony's PlayStation Portable (PSP). In the website are some new videos for this PSP video game.

You can access the new videos by clicking on the rightmost button on their menu. Once there, you'll be able to view what looks to be a webisode for the game, entitled "Satin Doll", as well as a promotional video. We've had a look at both them and we must say that it features more of the gorgeous artwork for the sound novel, as well as some delightfully dramatic musical scoring.

In any event, you'll have to wait a little longer to import this PSP sound novel from Japan. Anato Wo Yurusanai comes out on November 15 and will set you back 5,040 yen (US$ 44).

Blue Dragon - Image 1

Mistwalker has finally officially confirmed that a Blue Dragon (working title) game is scheduled to come out on the Nintendo DS next year. Though the Xbox 360 version of the game has long been released now, DS owners finally get in on the action.

On top of the V-jump scan from a few days ago, only a minor few details about the coming game have been revealed now, and the folks at NeoGAF have been able the information out. The game is to be developed by FreePlus+ and published by AQ Interactive. In Japan, it's going to come out by March 2008 - no mention of any Western release.

The game is categorized under the RPG genre (could this mean that it's not a card game after all?), but whether it'll be the same kind of RPG system as the 360 counterpart had is yet to be revealed. Right now, no one really knows if it's a remake or a sequel of the 360 version, but what's clear is that the DS version will not be based on the original manga anime.

Hironobu Sakaguchi is in on the project, but strangely, there doesn't seem to be any mention of Uematsu and Toriyama.

Sony - Image 1The Tokyo Game Show this year brought on a number of happy announcements, one of them being the DualShock 3 and the list of games that are and will be made compatible to it. Well, Colin, a former writer at PS3 Fanboy took a good look at the list of games and found some new ones squished in between the others.

Here's the list:
  • N-Cube - Creat Studios
  • Warbit - Creat Studios
  • TNA Wrestling - Midway
  • To End All Wars - Ghostlight
  • Cops (codename, title name TBD) - Pyro
  • The Crucible - Sega
  • Rat Race - Sony Computer Entertainment
  • Vampire Rain - Altered Species - AQ Interactive Inc.
  • Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back - Activision
So far, there hasn't been any information or announcements regarding the said titles. Oh-kay, we've been seeing and hearing about TNA Impact! and Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back for a while, but as we said, info is thin. Anyway, we're wondering whether the Vampire Rain - Altered Species listed refers to Vampire Rain or another upcoming title. Expect more news when we get them.

Here are a couple of screenshots for the upcoming Japanese PlayStation Portable title Anato wo Yurusanai. It is being developed by AQ Interactive and Chunsoft and will be available in the Land of the Rising Sun on November 15 for 5,040 Yen or roughly around US$ 44.29. There's still no word if it's going to be released in other markets.

In case you're a bit not sure if these are indeed screenshots for Anato wo Yurusanai, we're telling you they are. It's just that they are a bit different in style and texture because the title is going to be a sound novel and those who want to play it will have to turn their PSP units vertically.

A sound novel is basically similar to visual novels. But the thing is Chunsoft has already coined the word and that's why other developers have referred to the genre using the latter term. Anyway, Anato wo Yurusanai is backdropped by an interesting story featuring Takeuchi Ririko and the death of her father as well as the mysterious disappearance of her husband.

We hope AQ Interactive decides to make the title available in English-speaking markets. We guess it's about time we get to try a different kind of game for our dear handhelds. In the mean time, just enjoy the screenshots below!

Anato wo Yurusanai - Image 1AQ Interactive has launched the official website for Anato wo Yurusanai, its upcoming sound novel game for the Sony PlayStation Portable handheld gaming system.

Since our last post on this title got a few "What's a sound novel?" comments, here's a short backgrounder. According to Wikipedia, the term "Sound Novel" is a trademark of Chunsoft for use in their novel games like Otogirisou and Kamaitachi no Yoru. Sound novels and visual novels are essentially the same thing. The latter is just the term used by non-Chunsoft developers.

Anyway, back to the game. The story revolves around a woman called Takeuchi Ririko who works at her father's private investigation firm. Things take a turn for the worse when Ririko's husband leaves her and her father mysteriously disappears. It's now up to Ririko to look for her father while she takes care of his P.I. firm at the same time.

The website doesn't have a lot of content at the moment, but there is a brief guide there on how the game can be played. You can also check out a few screenshots of the game there. Those interested can take a look at the official Anato wo Yurusanai website by clicking on the Read link below. The game goes on sale in Japan on November 15.
