The iPhone DevTeam has released a new update for PwnageTool, a tool to jailbreak your iPhone 2G/3G/3GS and iPod Touch 1G/2G. The latest update, available only for Mac OS X users, jailbreaks the latest iPhone OS 3.1.2.

The App Store broke the two billion download mark the previous week, which may say a lot about how successful the platform is. David Braben, on the other hand, minces no words in saying that Apple's online store front is a "high pile of rubbish." The iPhone DevTeam is back once again to release a new version of their excellent PwnageTool for Mac OS X which now adds OS 3.1 support for the iPhone 3GS and iPod Touch 2G.

Good news for the iPhone jailbreak community! The iPhone DevTeam has release a jailbreak for the latest iPhone OS 3.1, just barely a week after Apple released the official firmware update. The application will support the iPhone 2G, the iPhone 3G and the iPod touch 1G.

Homebrew coder ZodTTD has released a new update for gpSPhone, the Game Boy Advance emulator for the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch. The latest update is a bug fix release to fix certain issues brought about by the previous release.

Great news to all iPhone 3GS owners, the iPhone DevTeam has confirmed that the 24kpwn exploit used to crack open the iPod touch 2G is also applicable to the bootrom of the iPhone 3GS. This means that by using the redsnow tool, the team can jailbreak and unlock the iPhone 3GS.

The RipDev team has released a new version of  InstallerApp.  InstallerApp is a native Mac OS X application that will soon be available for Windows users that allows you to easily download applications for your iPhone from Installer and Cydia directly to your computer.

Apple finally pulled back the curtains on iPhone 3.0, and it looks like Digg's Kevin Rose was spot on. The new firmware is coming with loads of new features, as well as new stuff for developers to play with. Even the iPod Touch 2G is going to benefit. 3.0 will finally unlock the capabilities of its Bluetooth chip.
