Haven't checked in to your inFamous 2 game? Then you might be surprised to find a new patch waiting for you when you do.

Sucker Punch sent out this new patch to get rid of that bug which lets players buy powers at a cost of nothing. You can't just go picking up stuff for free, you know. Anyway, apart from that, the new patch should also prep your game's UGC for additional content coming your way soon.

Aside from those glitches, however, everything seems to be running smoothly for Cole's latest adventure, despite having been leaked before it officially launched at retail. A couple of weeks back, Japan also got a shiny new trailer for it.

inFamous 2 copy out on the streets?

This weekend past, two gameplay videos, which looked like they were from the inFamous 2 demo, surfaced on the Internet. It looks, though, as if that won't be the only leak that Sony and Sucker Punch will have to deal with because an actual copy of the game has reportedly leaked out on the streets.

This image here below is allegedly a retail copy of the PS3-exclusive, inFamous 2. A guy named Martin Angeles posted this up on Twitter. Checking up on the account however, we were greeted with a notification that the said picture no longer exists on Twitter, which can only mean that it's been taken down already.

The boxart is the same one as the North American version's. If this be true, then they certainly have a lot to worry about. inFamous 2 won't be out till a good couple weeks, after all, on June 7th to be exact.

There are a good number of other plausible explanations for the existence of this box, though. It could be that somebody just printed out the boxart, and put it nicely inside a box, or it could be one of those display boxes from retailers.

We're hoping to hear from Sucker Punch or Sony regarding this alleged broken street date. If and when they do, we'll be sure to keep you posted, stat.

ESRB describes inFamous 2

Cole McGrath's latest adventures on inFamous 2 garnered a T for Teen rating from the ESRB.

As always, the ESRB's rating summary should provide for another look at what you can expect from the game. Here's wha tthey have to say about inFamous 2:

"This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Cole, a man who must stop a monster from destroying the planet. From a third-person perspective, players roam around 'open-world environments and use element-based projectiles (e.g., lightning bolts, ice spikes, power grenades) to kill mutated monsters, animal-like creatures, and gun-toting soldiers.

Combat is often frenetic and includes explosions, cries of pain, and brief blood splashes to indicate damage. Players have the ability to attack pedestrians wandering through the city and Bio Leech them while they are lying on the ground; this electrical attack sucks the life out of the injured character.

In one comic book-style cutscene, a character uses a rifle butt to strike a civilian, resulting in a blood-splatter effect. As the game progresses, players can explore a red-light district that contains advertisements infused with sexual references/ innuendo (e.g., 'Sex', 'Live Nude Girls,' 'Erotic Peep Show', and 'Latch It and Skank'); some neon signs also depit silhouettes of pole dancers.

During the course of the game, players can create their own missions and assign 'drunk' characteristics (e.g., "Happy', 'Sloppy') to non-playable characters; in one cutscene, two men are depicted drinking beer until they fall asleep. Another cutscene contains a brief drug reference (e.g. 'What happened, old guy slip you a roofie?'). The words 'sh*t' and 'b*tch' can be heard in the dialogue."

inFamous 2 official boxart reveals more deets

The official boxart for inFamous 2 is officially out now, thanks to Amazon.

Not only do we get to see the awesome artwork for it, we also find out new details about it, such as the install size and whatnot.

As it turns out, the game will be requiring you 2.5GB worth of space in your PS3 drive. Other features of the game include add-on content, trophies, and of course, 480p and 720p outputs.

inFamous 2 isn't only about Cole, however. Nathan Drake squeezes in a bit of promotion for his own adventure with Uncharted 3. Those who buy inFamous 2 will be getting early access to Uncharted 3's multiplayer beta. That's what it says so right at the bottome of the front cover. The voucher's only good until July 13, though, so make sure you get to use them before that deadline.

But, back to inFamous 2. These boxarts will ship out with the actual game disc on June 7th, and has been rated with a T for Teen rating by the ESRB.

At the Game Developers Conference, Sucker Punch was in attendance, tagging along with them no other than Cole MacGrath himself. At their presentation, Sucker Punch revealed that PS3-exclusive inFamous 2, published by Sony, will be featuring a mission creator. That should be great for those who have the "if-I-could-I-would-have-done-this-for-this-level" complex.

At the Game Developers Conference, Sucker Punch was in attendance, tagging along with them no other than Cole MacGrath himself. At their presentation, Sucker Punch revealed that the game will be featuring a mission creator. That should be great for those who have the "if-I-could-I-would-have-done-this-for-this-level" complex.

This spankin' brand new system essentially - and as the name simply implies - lets you build your own levels. With the mission creator, you can fill your level with your preferred enemies, construct the environment with more objects, plot out your own storyline and more. It will also be up to you what kind of challenges, or how much, you'll be putting in it, as well as the limiting of races, and assigning XP for quest completion.

The video presentation also pointed to a variety of missions, including the following: Defense, Escort, Search and Destroy, Survival, Shooting Gallery, Platforming, and Obstacle Course. That doesn't mean, however, that you will be only limited to these choices. As you are the creator of the mission, you can add in whatever that may catch your fance.

And since you will most certainly be working tirelessly at creating that perfect level, which you can show off to the rest of the gaming world, Sucker Punch has also come up with a way for you to publish your creation. As soon as you finish your level, you can then upload it to the map so other players can have a whack at it.

When it's up on the map, players can choose from among the choices of criteria auto-populating the map, according to their own preferences. When they've chosen, they just need to walk into the green cone of light, check out the information, and then get the party started. IGN notes, however, that "if a player hasn't cleared a story mission and a created mission uses an enemy or something from it, the player won't be able to access that created mission until he or she has unlocked that part of the story."

After the fun with your level, the player will then be able to give its rating of your work. Of course, the higher the rating, the more probability that more people would want to check out your home-made level. If you get enough good ratings, then you will find your content categorized under the "Famous" ranking. This simply means that your content will then be appearing in other players' games even with the filtering mechanism on in your game's criteria.

There's also another category, the "Sucker Punch Featured Content". This one means that it's not only other gamers who are appreciating your work, but that Sucker Punch itself is wowed by it that they are recommending it to other folks. That should be a big incentive for wanna-be developers to do their best, being lauded by a big-time dev company. Not only do you get Sucker Punch's two-thumbs up, this will also earn you the top spot on the created missions list as soon you load the game.

We bet you can't wait to get your hands on this mission creator feature. You just might be able to do that, too, what with the public beta for inFamous 2 now officially announced and dated.

Sucker Punch is slating it for an April outing, although they say that there will be more specific details on it that's yet to be announced come March 14th. If you're lucky enough to get in on the beta, you might want to warm up with your level creations as early as now. If your creation edges out the competition, you will be among the first wave of the Sucker Punch Featured Content. Beta creations will be uploaded only for a limited time, and will be subsequently deleted before inFamous 2 officially hits on June 7th. Still, it should be nice to see your work featured before anybody else's does.

Just last week, we reported that a Collector's Edition for inFamous 2 was spotted in one online retailer's site. Apparently, that sighting was no fluke as even Amazon posted earlier the details of the said Hero Edition.

Amazon has now pulled out the said listing, but it was up there long enough for other people to see what's supposedly in the pack.

Said the full description for inFamous 2's Hero Edition product page:

inFamous 2 is the second chapter in the best selling franchise for the PS3. This immersive open world adventure offers a powerful, emotional, and visceral take on being a super hero.

Blamed for the destruction of Empire City, Cole must make a dramatic journey to discover his full super-poewred potential.
