Gears of War 3 street-broken in Norway

They're not exactly sure how it happened, according Norwegian online retailer Elkjop.no, upon news breaking out that folks were able to successfully purchase and receive their copies of Gears of War 3.

The game, of course, isn't supposed to be out till September 20th. News first came out on Norwegian site PressFire, who received reports, along with picture evidence, of purchased copies of the game.

The store insists that they are "keen to keep these deadlines", however, and has already informed Microsoft about the situation. Said their official statement to the press, "Now we [are] examining what has happened, so it does not happen again."

Meanwhile, Microsoft Norway offered their own say on the matter: "Gears of War 3 shall not, under any circumstances be sold before the launch date on September 20 and violations of this is something we look very seriously."

Broken street dates, unfortunately, are very much a common occurrence, especially when there are big titles involved. It should be worth mentioning, however, that Epic Games has had quite a lot of trouble with leakages of this game from the get-go. Somebody obviously wants this game out so bad.

It shouldn't be too hard to imagine. After all, Gears of War 3 has been topping pre-order charts. Microsoft also recently confirmed a Subscription Pack for Gears of War 3 on XBL.

Microsoft 'looking into' launching Gears of War 1 & 2 in Germany

Gears of War is already on its third installation, but it was only the third title that got approved by the German authorities.

Now that Marcus and friends are welcome to come in, Microsoft is now reportedly gearing up for a possible re-release of the first two titles for Germany.

A German Microsoft rep present at Gamescom 2011 was reportedly caught to have said that Microsoft "is looking into it," sparking up hopes that the franchise can now be complete for all of Germany to enjoy.

Mike Capps added fuel to the fire when at GDC this year, he said, "We were surprised that Gears of War 3 was rated here that we really didn't have an action plan [for Gamescom]. I'm very happy that the marketing team at Microsoft was able to put together a booth presence for us at Gamescome with a couple weeks notice."

Epic Games is supposed to have "something major happening" tomorrow for Gears of War 3. We have no idea what it could be about, but we'll definitely be keeping our eyes peeled for it!
