Capcom's Christian Svensson finally opened up about the reasons behind the PS Store lockout of Breath of Fire III, and based on his explanation, there are a lot of legal entanglements that aused the problems.
"Guys, I don't get sent a list of issues by the IP legal review team in Japan so the exact reasons I couldn't tell you," he started.
"If it doesn't clear, it doesn't clear. There's some sort of legal exposure to us either from potential risk to someone else's IP or there are lapsed or non-covered middleware, voice work or soundtrack contracts.
No, you can't just 'pull these things out' and resubmit. There is no provision for new development in the PS1 re-release program. One needs to submit the ROM exactly as it was released. Trust me when I tell you, we'd love to make you happy and for my business purposes, I'd love to have the revenue. We aren't holding these things back just to upset you."
The reasons are still rather vague, but their sincerity in apology is palpable. Perhaps there just are too many factors involved that makes the release of Breath of Fire III on the PS Store not for clearance.
Anyway, we're still keeping our fingers crossed that a breakthrough will happen so that fans can get their Breath of Fire III fix soon.

DS homebrew developer Yannoulu isback with version 1.3.1 of his LUA-coded mini-game for the DS, The ASCII's World.
"The goal is to avoid the ASCII characters that tumble from one corner to another of the screen while using the stylus to move from a very special way, you'll see," said the developer in his note. As for the changelog for this version, he said that he "Fixed various minor bugs and reset the player's position between two parties."

Change the color of the enemies
Prevents the player out of the screen (Thanks Papymouge!)
Fixed an error aurtohgraffe
Improved movement system (now take into account the speed of slip of the pen)
Speed limited to enemies 3+3 pixels in x and 2+3y
Changing the logo and buttons
Add the name of the author
Fixed bug in the canvas overlay when changing the character between two parties
