The Windows 8 Release Preview may be the operating system that's getting all of the attention right now but there's another that deserves it's share of fame. The newest multiMAN is expected to incorporate a new file manager called mmOS. No official release date has been posted but a changelog of the upcoming build has appeared. You know what that means.

ifcaro is here, pumping updates to his PKGView application for Windows. PKGView allows you to extract the contents of .pkg files of the PS3, PSP, Vita as well as those for the PSX. For those who are running homebrew on any of these devices, this tool may prove useful to you. Game patching, modding or whatever the case may be, PKGView can help you get the job done.

The PS3 scene has a plethora of tools available to get your console running custom firmware or dongles, if that is your thing. Unfortunately, there's always a bad bunch of people who just aim to release tools with the intent of bricking consoles. HwapX and Overx fall into this category with the recent release of their Venix GUI downgrader app.
