Final Fantasy XIII-2 Opens to dismal sales

Probably not the final, fantasy, but still worrying enough.

FFXIII-2 came out last week in Japan to the tune of half a million sales, which is around a third of the sales the original XIII saw, just over two years ago.

Whilst anyone who makes games would love that amount to shift, the game cost a couple million to make and half a mill is quite a low sale count when shooters are blowing up the market with almost a billion dollars in just a matter of weeks.

Squenix's franchise of FFXIII Titles continues into the nwe year with FF Versus XIII, and this recent lack of sales comes only months after Square said that their brand has been "greatly damaged" due to the troubled release of the MMORPG, Final Fantasy XV.
