Takashi Miike working on Ace Attorney movie

This news just literally made my jaw drop. There's going to be an Ace Attorney movie -- and it's going to be directed by Takashi Miike?!?

Yes, the interrobang is clearly called for in this situation. See, not only is Ace Attorney one of the tightest games ever to come out on the DS, but it's Takashi Miike!

He only happens to be the Japanese film director director who brought us the epic Dead or Alive (not the ones with the beach babes), and the Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai at this year's Cannes Film Festival. He's known for his controversial films, thanks to his generous use of extreme violence and perversions. In 2001, at the Toronto Film Festival, he premiered Ichi the Killer. The movie staff gave away barf bags. Majority of those who went most probably used it.

Anyway, enough of the gushing and let's get our focus back on track. Ace Attorney. Phoenix Wright. Takashi Miike. This was revealed by no less than the acclaimed director himself, saying that he is working on a "court drama, based on a videogame."

Meanwhile, Phoenix will reportedly be played by actor Horiki Narimiya. He should be familiar, or at least his voice and likeness, because he wasthe one who played Masayoshi Tanimura in Yakuza 4.

Said Capcom on the film, it will be featuring a "single content, multiple usage" strategy that should forward their objective of maximizing their brands to "bring maximum satisfaction to as many of our users as possible."

I cannot wait to see this! For a game as wholesome as Ace Attorney, it should be very curious to see how Miike tackles this while staying true to his directorial form.

God of War Portable Collection incoming?

Buzz is hot that a new God of War game will be coming out for the PlayStatoin 3.

Actually, it's not exactly "new". Rather, it's said to be a collection featuring the PSP titles of the franchise: Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. Of course, as it's going to be making its way to the PS3, you can expect that it's going to have "enhanced graphics" for the power console.

The Magic Box further asserts that the God of War Portable Collection will be making its way to Asia on July 7th. As to whether or not it will also be seeing a release in other territories, it's yet to be seen, although it's most likely happening.

We're going to have to tag this as a Rumor, though, since SCE has not made any formal
