A Game of Thrones: Genesis coming out later this month

Game of Thrones is just way too hot to ever just stay on TV alone, that's why it comes as no surprise that Cyanide Games is bringing it over to the PC platform. That makes George R.R. Martin's Song of Ice and Fire novel now a multimedia threat.

Entitled A Game of Thrones: Genesis, the game version touches on more than 1,000 years of family (mis)management amongst the royals of the Kingdom of Westeros. Here, gamers will be able to strengthen their forts, either by military conquests or diplomatic missions.

PC gamers can now have their fill of the extended dramatic action come September 29th. Apart from that, Cyanide also confirmed that A Game of Thrones: Genesis will be headed off to retail shelves in Collector's Edition SKU form. Watch out for that.

Uncharted 3 multiplayer in development even before Uncharted 2 released

You'd know the Naughty Dog team is dead serious about getting Uncharted 3's multiplayer mode right when you find out that they've been working on it even before Uncharted 2 launched.

Yep, that's right. That was the revelation made by lead designer Richard Lemarchand in an interview with Gamespot.

"We've been working on it since almost before we finished Uncharted 2. Building out new multiplayer maps, and coming up with ideas for new both competitive and cooperative game types," he explained.

"We've added in a ton of customizable content, including customizable symbols that people can use for their clans, and that appear in-game, and a whole tiered unlocking system of boosters, which players can buy with in-game cash to give them a little bit of a leg-up in the multiplayer sphere."

Indeed, there's no other way for them to move but forward, especially after the satisfying success that the multiplayer mode of the previous title yielded for htem. "Uncharted 2's multiplayer was the first time we'd made a multiplayer game in about five years, and we really, really liked what we'd been able to achieve with it."

"We have a big, very enthusiastic player base who are still playing a lot a year and a half after the release of the game. So that gave us an excellent springboard to make the multiplayer component of Uncharted 3."

Naughty Dog co-founder Evan Wells was recently quoted as saying that they would have no qualms about killing off a lead character in the franchise, if the story eventually calls for it. They've also said that for as long as they can churn out good ideas for storylines, they won't mind making some more Uncharted games till, oh, just forever.

Uncharted 3 is slated to come out this November exclusively for the PS3.

Kinect support confirmed for Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary

E3's long been over, but until now, details continue to trickle out revealing more treats from our favorite publishers. Say, like Micrsofot.

In Gamespot's interview with Microsoft Game Studios' Phil Spencer from the event, the executive confirmed that Halo: Combat Anniversary Edition will indeed have Kinect-support to a certain extent.

"Core focus for us in our press briefing this year with Kinect actually came from two sides. As a first-party, we believe that Kinect will be important to all genres of games, be it racing games with Forza, combat games like Ryse. Even games like Halo Anniversary has Kinect integration."

"The interesting thing with the amount of original content that creators came to show with - things like what Mass Effect did, Ghost Recon - we didn't know that was going to be on our stage when we started our E3 planning," he continued.

Despite being a teeny bit forthcoming about details on Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Microsoft is keeping mum on Halo 4. Recently, they debunked alleged leaked details on the fourth iteration, brushing it off as a mere figment of a fan's overactive imagination.

Uncharted 3 devs keeping Drake grounded

If there's one thing that the team behind Uncharted 3 are most careful about, it would be the retention of the game's adventurous spirit.

Creative director Amy Hennig explains in a recent interview with Gamespot just how exactly they do that. "If somebody comes up with an idea that seems like it fits, and you see everybody sort of spark on that, that's meaningful."

"On the other hand, if somebody comes up with an idea that maybe would be awesome in another game, but everybody's kind of like 'meh'... that's meaningful too."

Hennig also reealed that adlibbing is very much encouraged from the cast, and fortunately, the script allows for that to come out naturally. Ultimately, their goal is to keep up with the traditions of pulp adventure while telling "a story about believable characters who are flawed and charming and all the things that go along with that."

As for Drake appearing like a superhero of sorts, Hennig says they're not up for that.

"The adventure genre is more about kind of groundedness, and there's a sort of retro aspect to it without making it old-fashioned and corny. We always have to check ourselves to make sure we're not making a kind of modern action movie."

Red Faction: Armageddon pre-order bonuses

These new videos for Red Faction: Armageddon don't only show new gameplay, but also the pre-order bonuses that will come included with the pack.

First, there's the Commando Pack, which should bring in the armored Commando uniform on top of two new weapons.

Apart from that, there's also the Recon Pack. Here, you'll get the clandestine Recon uniform. Wearing this should be a total statement as this uniform is exclusive for Red Faction snipers and spies.

If you can't decide, then that's all the more reason for you to watch the videos so you can have better discernment of which one you'd like to get more.

Red Faction: Armageddon comes out on June 7th for the US and on June 10th for Europe, for the PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

New Crysis 2 glitch found on Xbox 360

Crysis 2 may be the prettiest looking game to ever land on current-gen consoles, but that does not keep it immune from glitches, definitely.

Apparently, a new one had been spotted, and this time, it appears to be exclusive for the Xbox 360 only. The glitch found is a grain filter one, which covers the entire screen, defying all laws of graphical superiority.

While some say that it was probably deliberately put there to add to the feel of the game, those who have seen it point out that the lines definitely debunk this argument. In fact, what other gamers who have experienced this are doing as a quickfix is to reload the game.

It's good that there's a quickfix and all, but it sure is much of a hassle to have to reload the game just to get rid of the grain filters.

Pro driver disses Test Drive Unlimited 2's handling

Test Drive Unlimited 2 is being hyped as one heck of a driving and social experience. Insofar as the social aspect is concerned, it looks like the devs really had that covered. But what of the driving bit of it?

A professional driver got his hands on the game, and to say the least, he did not mince any words verbalizing what he really thought about it.

John Boston, the professional driver who tried out the game at the TDU 2 event at Pete's Ridge in Australia, said that the handling is "very similar" to that of a "real car." The catch, though, was that when he said this in an interview with Gamespot, he said so with a wink, and a follow-up statement of "Of course, you have to say that."

So really, what's the score for John Boston? Needless to say, he didn't think the handling of the game in the race does not match up to the real thing. "I've been thrown into a couple of simulators over time, but they're still all very different to a car.

There's no dubt about it. Just the way they behave -- especiallly with the steering side. You really can't feel the weight distribution."

He also says that while racing sims can actually be helpful in preparing potential drivers for real-world driving, it's just not the same because the experiences being offered are just very different. But of course, it's but logical to expect that, right? After all, you can't "reset" and start over if you flip your car on the highway and crash on the side road, running at 120kph.

"I've found a lot of people that play games, they come and drive cars and they find it extremely different. [The hand-eye coordination] is abonus, but it's just the controls and everything are just a little bit different."

"One of the main things is just the sudden change of direction, like if you change the direction too suddenly in the game the car might slide, but normally it's not sliding as much as what a real car would. People aren't smooth enough when they get into a real life car."
