Sony may be enjoying a good start with the Vita, but also in the world of successful mobile gaming comes the next game from Rovio; no, it's not Angry Birds Universe.

The developer of Flower and Journey is ready to expand beyond PSN.
If you have a PS3 and you enjoy indie games, chances are good you’ve spent a little time with flow and Flower. Both titles, developed by thatgamecompany, were instant successes with both critics and players alike. Their next title, Journey, has just been given an official release date (March 13).
So what’s next for thatgamecompany? Well, for starters, they’d like to expand beyond PSN. According to co-founder Jenova Chen, the studio’s primary goal for their next titles is finding a wider audience. Chen noted that the studio had a three game, Sony-exclusive contract, but with Journey set for release, thatgamecompany is now free to pursue other methods of distribution.
Chen said that the studio is currently in negotiations to bring its games to other platforms, but that discussions were still in the early stages and no public announcements could be made quite yet.
Have you played any of thatgamecompany’s titles? Would you like to see them on Steam, or XBLA?

Despite claiming the contrary just a couple of weeks ago, the Entertainment Software Association has officially backed off both SOPA and PIPA.
SOPA/PIPA fallout continues to roll across the web, with every day seemingly bringing a new renouncement from a former supporter. Today’s news, however, is the biggest yet – the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), which represents industry bigwigs like Nintendo, Sony and Microsoft, has officially reversed its position on the controversial legislation.
In a statement issued early this morning, the ESA noted that while it is still important to find ways to protect the intellectual property of its members, it was swayed by concerns over the “unintended consequences” presented by the current drafts of SOPA and PIPA. The ESA was, by far, one of the most powerful lobbying organizations that stood in favor of the bills; their retreat, though late, marks a big win for both the gaming community and SOPA/PIPA opponents in general.
As we mentioned last week, SOPA and PIPA have both been postponed – for now. Congress and organizations like the ESA are still looking for ways to control piracy, though now they adamant about finding a solution that addresses both the concerns of the entertainment industry and the worries of web users.
There is still time to make your voice heard on the issue, if you’re so inclined. You can do so here:

What do you think about the ESA’s reversal? Better late than never?

Contrary to previous reporting, it looks like the PS Vita will support more than one PSN account. Sort of.
Earlier this week, we reported on the news that Sony would be limiting the Vita to one PSN account. The decision sparked a bit of anger in the gaming community, but it’s not much different from the PSP’s current setup and overall wasn’t that huge a deal. However, Sony has recently made a statement with the intent of clarifying some of the news that’s been flying around – namely, that Vita will in fact support more than one PSN account.
But before you get too excited, there is one catch: you’ll need a separate memory card for each PSN account you wish to use. According to Sony, your account bonds to your memory card – not to your device. If you have more than one memory card, you’ll be able to bond separate accounts to each card and swap back and forth without resetting your system. If you have only one memory card, you’ll need to perform a factory reset every time you want to change accounts.
It’s not the best use of multiple accounts, but it’s certainly better than what we thought we were dealing with. This way, if you have one PSN account for yourself and one for your children, you can save each account to separate memory cards and switch back and forth as you play.
Assuming you want to shell out for more than one of Sony’s ridiculous memory cards, that is.
What do you think of Vita’s PSN support?
