The online gaming behemoth earns a huge pile of cash from its initial stock offering, but its value is already sliding down.
Initial public stock offerings, or IPOs, are usually a good indicator of how valuable a certain company is. When the IPO goes well, it shows that investors have confidence in the company and in its future profitability. When it goes poorly, it indicates that the company has a long way to go before earning the trust of potential shareholders.
Nexon, the Korea-based online gaming company responsible for the enormously successful MapleStory and Mabinogi, made the jump to public stock earlier this week. The company, which claims 1.2 billion registered players, has a bright financial future and a demonstrated record of keeping players around for months at a time, leading to a massive $1.17 billion haul as investors rushed to pick up stock.
Nexon’s IPO ended up being the largest to hit the Tokyo Stock Exchange in 2011, and thanks to this huge success, the company is now riding high with an estimated valuation of between $7.69 billion and $8.97 billion. Of course, it wasn’t all roses and champagne – Nexon’s stock dropped by around 4 percent on its first day of open trading.
Nexon is probably a strong buy for the short term, but freemium companies have yet to demonstrate they can stay competitive over longer periods of time. One need only look to Zynga for an example of that principle in action. Then again, Nexon’s entrenched user base and attention to its community certainly put it in a strong position.
Do you play any Nexon games?

American Nintendo President sees console for every demographic.
What about the Western Rabble Rouser console, how's that coming along?
Nintendo have had the family market cornered for years. Cornered and had a bright ribbon attached around it's neck which pulls so tight that money falls out of their pocket in droves, and whilst, other video game consoles have tired to put their bucket under their pockets, it seems that Nintendo's American President Reggie Fils-Aime, has plans to make sure the momentum keeps going when it comes to Nintendo's continued success.
Despite the postiing of a the company's first Japanese loss in over two decades, the American head says that with having four systems on the market, Wii, U, the DS and 3DS, isn't too bad and that they can have a share of the same market space for some time, as long as they appeal to the right markets. The right markets according to Fils-Aime, is the core gamers, lower-income homes and the classic, small children.
Of course, with Christmas coming up, all of those are taken care of on Nintendo's consoles,  Fils-Aime says that Nintendo thinks the "DS is going to sell well" this holiday and that it's going to "appeal to a different consumer," adding that the christmas memory of buying the first console for your kid might be an idea this christmas.
Reggie talked with Time Magazine adding that the Wii has really gone for a core market but also trying to hit a lower income bracket with the Wii being less than $150 for the first time, this year. He notes that the console being $200 or even $250, may have been "out of their reach" but now it looks like it might be at the right price.
Regarding the Wii U and the 3DS, Reggie talked mainly about the core gamer audience and how the people who buy the "Wii hardware today" may be different from the people who buy the "Wii U in the future." He also noted he was aware the lack of pricing for the Wii U had been a concern for some people, but that you would be expecting different things from the Wii U and therefore would need different pricing.
That being said the Wii U would be a dedicated experience, but regarding this holiday season's spending, we already know that Microsoft slaughtered the competition over black friday and other than my girlfriend's family of non-gamers, I don't know anyone who doesn't own a Wii...Reggie might be hopeful but not stupid, I think it might be high-time for the Wii U to be rolled out and let Nintendo rest the Wii's flag for now.
It was a great console, some memorable games and experiences. Remember the first time you played Wii Sports with friends and family and how amazing it was, till someone said that the swinging in Tennis wasn't matching up...yeah good times.

One common fan wish is put to bed, as Nintendo confirms it won’t be releasing either of the Galaxy games for its handheld console.
Super Mario Galaxy 2, if you haven’t played it, is joy on a disc. It captured all of the simple, bright fun of the Mario games before it while still managing to add new features and challenges. This is likely the reason for it being one of the best-reviewed games of all time, falling behind only the original Super Mario Galaxy and Ocarina of Time.
There were whispers, and indeed hopes, that Super Mario Galaxy 2 may eventually find its way to the 3DS handheld in some form or another. Unfortunately for Mario fans and 3DS owners, it looks like Nintendo has officially put the kibosh on those rumors.
Super Mario 3D Land’s director, Koichi Hayashida, confirmed that the company did test Galaxy on a small screen, but due to the way the game is designed, Mario appeared more like a small speck on the screen. This made many of the game’s levels nearly impossible to play, and created a frustrating experience all around. But, on the plus side, the company used what they learned from those play tests and designed Super Mario 3D Land to work around such problems – it seems to have worked, considering the game’s epic success.
Still, the news comes as a bit of a downer for anyone looking forward to enjoying Super Mario Galaxy while on the train or waiting for the bus. There’s always the Wii, right?
Would you have wanted to see Galaxy on the 3DS, or is it too port-heavy already? I wouldn’t mind getting a port of Super Mario Sunshine, but Galaxy does seem a little too expansive for such a tiny screen.

Will Wright, the once-infallible creator of SimCity and The Sims, has a new project up his sleeve. And it’s weird.
There was a time when Will Wright could do no evil. Developing games like SimCity and The Sims for some reason led to him being seen as some sort of visionary, and many gamers and developers alike considered him one of the best in the business. Until he released Spore, that is, and it all came crashing down.
Now Wright is back with another bold idea that takes your social data and incorporates it into your gaming experience. But will it work?
The new game, titled HiveMind, is being developed by Wright’s new studio (of the same name). The concept is certainly interesting: HiveMind uses your phone’s location data to figure out what sorts of things you do, then builds those routines into gameplay. Wright says, “If we can learn enough about the player, we can create games about their real life. How do we get you more engaged in reality rather than distract you from it?”
Basically, the idea of HiveMind is to use your interests and habits to form new real-life experiences, putting you in touch with the things around you that you might have missed. Like every other Will Wright project, this one won’t make any sense until we see it in action.
Based on the info I can find, I’m not sure this is the bright future of gaming Wright seems to think it is. What about you?

The indie game managed to best big-name opponents like Portal 2 and Pokémon to take the top prize at one of the Europe’s biggest games festivals.
GameCity is a massive video game convention/party that took place in Nottingham, U.K. last week. The festival, which is more than a trade show, is focused on connecting gamers with developers and exploring the nooks and crannies of gaming culture. Each year they award one game a grand prize, and this year a bright-eyed newcomer managed to snatch the title away from some of the biggest brands in the business.
Face with competition from games like Portal 2, LIMBO and Pokémon Black/White, Minecraft took the show’s top award. One interesting element of how the game is chosen – GameCity puts a jury together of people that don’t usually play games, comprised of celebrities and academics that play each game over a certain period of time preceding the festival. This gives the grand prize award a special twist, since it’s mostly free of the influence of brand loyalties or media hype.
While it’s fun to see an independently developed game earning some recognition, it’s also not much of a surprise – Minecraft is already a critical darling and has been downloaded millions of times by gamers that developed an immediate passion for its free-roaming content. The game is technically still in development, but look for plenty of other awards to come its way as soon as the retail version goes live.
Would you say that Minecraft is better than Portal 2? Better than Pokémon? Sound off in the comments.

Ó

Let’s talk about some of the issues with Battlefield 3’s multiplayer, and why it sometimes feel like DICE may have released the game a pinch too soon.
I’m not a huge Battlefield fan. When I say that, what I mean is that I didn’t play the older games and don’t have any extreme allegiance to the brand. I do prefer Battlefield to Call of Duty due to the more realistic sniping mechanics and a greater focus on team play, but I’m not the sort of person that runs around preaching about which game is superior. I like Battlefield games, but I wouldn’t call them my favorites.
I picked up Battlefield 3 on launch day and have since been playing multiplayer whenever I have some down time. I should probably note that I have the Xbox 360 version, so some of the things I’m talking about may or may not be applicable to your personal experiences with the game. I’ve never put the campaign disc in the tray and I doubt I ever will, so I can’t really say much about the single player.
For the most part, multiplayer feels like a well-oiled machine. Most maps seem well planned and I’m getting a fair amount of fun from earning unlocks and capturing points. Though I’m focusing on complaints in this post, I do want to mention that I’ve had a good experience with the game overall.
Except for the following:
Origin/EA/Battlelog/Online Pass
I understand that creating loyalty is one of the key elements of managing a player base, but I play on a console. Having to create an EA account link it to an Origin, and then register an Online Pass via a website getting slammed by new players was a frustrating and unnecessary experience. I pay for Xbox Live – let me put my game in and play. I must say that I do really like Battelog, but the upfront inconvenience in getting started was pretty lame (and seems to be worse for PC players).
Scope Glare
Look, I play Recon. In fact, I play almost exclusively Recon. But, I play Recon – not “Camping sniper.” I spot targets, paint vehicles with the SOFLAM, capture points when I can and drop Radio Beacons. Anyway, in BF3 certain riflescopes have been given a glare effect to help limit the potential for camping. While I understand the mechanic, the glare is ridiculously bright, even in low-light situations. When I’m charging through a pitch black tunnel and I see something that looks like the north star shining out of the darkness, it shouldn’t turn out to be a scope. Needs to be toned down a bit.
Operation Metro CQ
If anyone out there has played Operation Metro in Conquest mode, you’ve probably noticed that the map is insanely unbalanced. Due to the map’s linear design and lack of flank routes, it’s much easier for the Russian team to capture point B and hold it. I would say that the majority of games I join for CQ end with Russia winning and the US losing – getting up and into point B can be quite a difficult feat. It’s also, for some reason, the only map that requires you to pass through one point to cap another – you can’t simply run around B to cap point A and put some pressure on, you have to go through point B first. Needs a little love for the US.
Jets
Jets are cool, I get it. But when I’m in a level with jets, it often seems like they’re playing a completely different game. I’m sure this is a failing of my teammates somewhere along the line, but all I ever see jets do is chase each other around and ignore everything that’s happening on the ground. Somewhere, someone has to have made a tutorial on how jets can apply to the ground game, so please watch it before you jump in the cockpit.
Technical issues
While the release version of Battlefield 3 is nowhere near as buggy as the beta, there are still a significant number of minor glitches and bugs. Texture pop, screen tear and a variety of weird clipping issues have shown up in my matches, with one in particular getting me killed (a two-inch step that has to be jumped over, since the character apparently can’t step). Also, the game often “forgets” which pistol I have equipped. Oh, and let’s not overlook the server issues – I always get a failed connection the first time I try and join.
So that’s a brief rundown of the common Battlefield issues I’m noticing. The list certainly isn’t comprehensive, but it’s made up of what has stood out to me as a player. Like I said before, they’re having a relatively minor impact on my play, but it’s still quite a few issues for a game that was supposed to be one of the best FPS experiences of all time.
If you’re playing Battlefield 3, what problems have you noticed that didn’t make the list?

The Man of Steel is looking to make a comeback, with a new movie in the works and a classic return to form headed to the iPad and iPhone.
While the success of the Marvel movie franchise is hard to overlook, DC Comics has had a much more mixed experience at the box office. The Batman series is trucking along as a hallmark of superhero filmmaking, but the remainder of the DC properties just haven’t seemed to catch on with viewers.
DC is looking to change all of this with the upcoming Superman film, titled “Man of Steel.” Taking a page from the Dark Knight/Captain America playbook, the film will be gritty and rooted more in reality that previous Superman adventures. Superman will also be making a new appearance on you iOS device, though the game doesn’t seem to be based at all on the new film.
Superman: iPad (the name I’ve just given it) is being developed by Chillingo and Tiger Games, and looks as though it’s taking its cues directly from the Superman comics of old. Bright colors and familiar villains are on display here, with players suiting up in the familiar blue tights and using Superman’s many powers to protect the city of Metropolis.
You’ll earn medals for your performance in each level, generating a bit of replay value for perfectionists and Superman fans alike. Beyond that, the rest of the game is essentially a mystery. Superman titles in general have a legacy of failure, especially the much-maligned Superman 64. Here’s hoping Superman: iPad can escape those previous mistakes and create something memorable and fun.
Do you think this new Superman game is the Man of Steel’s chance to shine, or is it going to be a disaster?

The graphics card developer touts brighter colors, comfortable glasses and a more immersive experience than ever before.
Today seems like the day of 3D news, first with the announcement of 3D support for Assassin’s Creed Revelations and now with an update from NVIDIA regarding the next iteration of their 3D Vision accessories. The company is promising a much more enjoyable experience, with a greater field of view, less eye strain, and reduced ghosting from monitors.
I’ll let NVIDIA explain what they’ve changed, straight from their press release:
"NVIDIA 3D LightBoost technology makes 3D games, movies and photos more stunning and life-like than ever before," said David Wung, senior director of product management of Open Platform Business (OPBG) Group for ASUS Computer International. "With 3D LightBoost and our new full-HD monitors, colors are richer, textures and subtle image details virtually jump off the screen, and the overall quality of the experience is something to behold. We are thrilled to be the first desktop display manufacturer to bring this new level of 3D visual quality to our customers with the ASUS VG278H."
That certainly sounds promising. Of course, it’s a press release, and press releases are designed to sound promising. What we know for sure is that the current generation of 3D technology simply isn’t that great, and it’s going to take a major innovation in image quality and comfort to push 3D from a fringe passion to a mainstream habit.
On the plus side, you can check out NVIDIA’s new 3D system for a relatively low cost, depending on how much money you prefer to invest in gaming experiments:
The 3D Vision 2 glasses kit, which includes one pair of 3D Vision 2 glasses and a wireless USB IR emitter will be available from the leading retailers/e-tailers worldwide in October for $149 (USD MSRP). It will also be available on the NVIDIA online store
Look for the new 3D Vision system to hit shelves sometime in October of this year.

For the first time since it was announced, we will now be getting to see a glimpse of what awaits us in the final three years of Harry Potter and the gang's Lego-fied adventure, thanks to this very first trailer for the LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-
Of course we all know how the story went. A lot of important characters died in the book, and shown in the movie as well, of course, such as Dumbledore and Snape. Heck, even Harry died. But he did go back to life and in the end defeeated Voldemort.
Oh, you didn't finish all the way to the end of the series? Come on, even the movie is finished already, and that's after the book came out some couple of years back! I suggest you go finish it before this game version comes out.
Not that it's going to matter in how you play the game, but am guessing it's just going to be more fun seeing the words from the book, and the scenes from the movie, transformed into these adorable building blocks.
LEGO Harry Potter: Years 5-7 comes out for all platforms conceivable (really!). As in, for the PS3, Xbox 360, PC, Wii, PS Vita, PSP, NDS and 3DS later this holiday season.

Bastion and Big Companies
I was gonna play From Dust this week but sadly my router screwed me and I was left almost gameless for a good two hours. So instead I called up my bro from last week and asked if he'd gotten anything new. Bastion lept forth from his mouth and I was in my car and over in minutes. My mate was busy with a coding assignment and I was reserved to being quiet and to only have the sound of the music up a little bit. As a writer, the conditions were not uncommon, but still I decided to write something good this week...well, objectively good.
The game starts off and the loading screen looks like someone trying to uncover elvish ruins and then the narrator speaks and it is glorious. I want to fall asleep to this man's voice cradling me and telling me every story known to man and I want to serve under his every golden voiced whim...but I keep playing the game and it is incredible in every way imaginable, without him holding me.
I start off with a gigantic hammer, which in the book of gaming, almost all great characters have gigantic hammers. Super Mario, Ramona Flowers, Tomba and now Bastion, and you can destroy everything in your path. Blocks just crumple under the weight of mighty hammer. You are Thor's tiny narrated brother and your whim is the world's way. So yeah, the game is a highly stylised, beautifully narrated and cleverly designed hack and slash.
The narration is not only soothing but it's helpful. In a comparative note, you would have Portal's GlaDOS, a mean-spirited but contextually justified character voice, whilst Bastion's narrator is calming but casually reassuring as the game's linear world forms around you, so does his words, creating an audible scenery to match the colourful block-filled world.
The collectables in the game, other than your weaponry, are tiny little crystals, which at first seem fairly arbitrary, but become incredibly useful regarding the RPG elements later on and even finding them is half the fun. The landscape forms beneath your feet and as such, secret areas will pop up by just wondering around and leading you in a path of danger or delight. Also destroying blocks around you, free-form GTA style will find a few more bits of fun and a lovely bit of narration, such as "The Kids just rages for a while...", I smile with delight and continue to punch the B button.
The difficulty curve of the game is interesting to say the least, but using the right weapons, skills and heals you can get yourself through any battle with the salty voice of the narrator peppering you through the worlds.
The RPG elements of the game really help with adding a bit of flavour to the game. The elements range from little things such as levelling up to building brand new places on the Bastion such as a forgery and distillery. The distillery promotes some minor underage drinking musings but nothing harmful...as long as a kid doesn't know what a distillery is. The forgery brings you new weapons so you can kick more arse and before you know it, you're hacking and slashing like never before unless you fall off the edge of the floating world...which happens a lot.
When you die, you fall into the Bastion. It's a beautifully green landscape. The call of a crow, the hum of the cicadas i nwhat looks like the freshest brightest spring day you've ever seen and somewhere standing on a golden and freshly cut pasture...is someone simply called Stranger...the narrator calls, he finds "another...he finds me", you can actually talk to the narrator and a beautiful guitar melody begins to play. Something akin to Neil Young or early Willie Nelson and I just want to sit here and turn up the soundtrack. It's monumental and oddly moving, but I must continue my quest. But actually it's here where the greatest plot element is revealed. It's a bit of a spoiler so if you want you can just play the first 30 minutes of the game or the demo and just wait for the words "subtlety is key".
Upon plot-assisted-death or what anyone who played the first Silent Hill and understood the opening without going, "Dude, wtf do I have to die, srsly, lame?!" the Bastion is essentially an overworld that actually helps you to different parts of the game world. The world itself acts as a land slowly growing and renewing, much like the game's landscapes during the gameplay. It's a beautiful landscape in a beautifully constructed game.
Subtlety is key here...with people who are made of ash, who when you smash to pieces the narrator gives a minor backstory to them and you either go "Sorry, my fault", or you chuckle unevenly. The game's key is playing with established video game and narration tropes and playing them with and against the player. Whilst some bits of narration and gameplay are expected, they're played into the story and atmospheric strengths, except for a few minor naming issues...such as "Something Heavy" and "Something Stringy", which I find lacking in creativity rather than subtley humourous, but I'll get to my gripes later.
Healing in the game is represented by fountains and tonics and the first time you hear the narrator talk about it, it seems real and almost like an advertisement for a fictional drink with the tagline "Sometimes you need a drink"...take all my money, now, magical narrator man.
"And then he falls to his death...I'm just foolin'" had me laughing so hard I annoyed my friend anough to throw a wireless mouse at me. I returned it sullenly and was told to keep writing or otherwise he'd not take my job as seriously. My friend is a coder and his work is serious business, whilst I takka takka away.
Some of the story elements, whilst almost non-sequitor like adds to the feel of the world. I'd use the word atmosphere a lot, but I did last week so I'm just gonna write the words Shabadoo instead. The Shabadoo works so well in this game that the little embers that burn in the opening world and the creatures you encounter seem to just add so much more to the game than just the narrator's voice. The crafting of the character and the narrative elements and how they seem to drip slowly and poignantly like water from a tap into a long deep echoing well makes for one hell of a Shabadoo-ic experience.
Weaponry such as The Fang Repeater, a shark-looking weapon - that's right SHARK-LOOKING - and the Breaker Bow - which the narrator tells you after you fall on it - "it breaks his fall, but it ain't broken - is given to you and the narrator professes delicately how they should be used. Not mockingly, not annoyingly, just subtlely with a bit of an onscreen flash of a button tutorial. This is barely half an hour in to the game and you're just riding the wave and the Shabadoo of the experience - that'll become clearer later on . You're just into the narrator's voice and the mood of the game; you just feel like it's right, that the gun or the voice will never steer you wrong...and this is where my first problem comes into the game. Nothing to with the gameplay or the game itself, this is where I'll become mildly analytical and you can tune out till I write the words, 'so the game'.
The tone of the game is strictly, speaking all over the place. Whilst thematically, there is little to draw on from the get-go, the game's style and over-arching story-based narrator-heavy theme leaves me high and dry sometimes, but the gameplay and humour just slides me back into a forgiving mode. I'm not sure what Bastion wants to say about games or narrative or characters or if they creators wanna say anything at all...all I want to say is that the game is amazing looking, great to play and also structurally beautiful...literally.
So the game does a lot of things amazingly and I've found the testament of a true game is that it keeps me wanting more of it. Resident Evil 4, LA Noire, Plants vs. Zombies and Half Life 2 all have kept me - and a million other gamers like me - wanting more and more like a battered lover. The look of the game just is amazing from the character design, overworld and parchment style menu design, the game has a very distinct style like a mix between nature-based artwork and naturalistic writing.
Like last week's Audio Team for Dead Island, this week's Handshake Award goes to the Design team for Bastion as they have created stunning architecture which is both eye-catching and never boring, some points in the game I feel bad for a micro-second for destroying things with a gigantic hammer.
A repetitious soundtrack - which isn't annoying - pumps in a lovely low bass as I pause the game, continue to type and it doesn't annoy my mate. The game has heaps of tracks and they all do follow a fairly similar progression but it never gets on your nerves. My mate was trying to code quietly and calmly, but when I pause so he can focus, he just grooves and hums along with it. We smile and clink our drinks together and go back to our prospective mediums, his "real work", my....uh...this. The slow strings of a guitar whine in as I enter a saloon, the narration is slow, perfect and much like this sentence ends on a sarcastic but humourous note, damn.
Falling off is an inconvenience, but is even greater so when dodging an enemies attack. The game treats death like "it ain't no thang", but really that "thang" does become quite annoying after a while when you wish you hadn't destroyed the barrier around the land looking for more crystals to level up your stuff. Aiming can also be a serious pain in the arse. You may be a fraction of a degree off and end up wasting a Fang shot or two or just simply miss a crucial shot instead of healing and it's Game Minor Inconvenience for you, buddy.
Whilst the enemies are fairly varied, they all have two or three attacks and one of them is a strictly "Come at me bro" strategy, to just run directly at you, you can usually expect it, but it does become mildly annoying.
The voice for The Kid is mildly unfitting, I imagine more of a young Link voice, but he sounds like a whiny 20 year old who just found out he's got a term paper due in a fortnight. There are more unexplained things such as where do my weapons go when I obtain new ones and why couldn't I switch them out with the D-Pad and when I defeat the big Gas guy in the second area how all those guy love me and then disappear...I want them to be my slaves and to build a posse rather than turning up randomly...well I did free them...maybe I shouldn't have slaves...slaves are bad.
Picture of THE MORE YOU KNOW (with Kirby)
The life point system for enemies is a intriguingly redesigned circle beneath the NPC and disappears with every swift ring of the hammer towards it.  Bastion is not a perfect game and whilst the experience is enjoyable some minor things like the AI being too easy, a lack of co-op, a slightly meh RPG, XP system and a leaderboard system (something I've personally never cared for) do not keep this game from being perfect, but just feeling a bit undercooked. I wish the game was a bit more creative or exciting in those elements.
I know I spent a good 90% of this article praising the heavenly voiced angel which descends into our mortal audio realm, but maybe having a secondary voice or another voice to play off would have been interesting. A finely-tuned weapons upgrade system, rather than just pictures and purchasing. Buying stuff in-game almost always makes me feel cheap. Oh and according to the game, you fly to each of the Skyway levels...I would have loved to have seen a bit of that, even in an opening cut scene.
Actually that being said I'm glad there are no cut-scenes in this game, it would have ruined the flow and fun...but flying would have been nice and interesting, but maybe a bit too much. To be honest, when I find flaws in a game I know it's just apart of me, not as a reviewer, but just knowing my tastes vs. knowing my standards as a gamer. I feel at a loss when I see potential and finances wasted on mediocrity.
And Bastion is not mediocre, it could be better, everything could be better, I could be a hell of a lot better...what I'm saying is...I just want a Bastion 2, I want to meet the developers and thank them and I wanna work on anything they make in the future, if they'll have me...and I know that's asking a lot. It's like asking for a shark to borrow it's gills and to be bros or for a volcano to not erupt and to be quiet, but I do love this game and I expect more amazing things from these guys.
Games like Bastion rarely get everything right and I do have to commend Warner Brothers for publishing a title, letting it be made and it being amazing in almost every domain. It's rare that a game will inspire me or at least enlighten me, entertain me and brighten up my day like Bastion does, the only other  games I can think of similarly is the visual poetry of Flower or the blocky-creativity of Minecraft. The narrative, gameplay and music fit so perfectly together, you'd think three pieces had been scattered across the globe and the developers had put them together perfectly. So I do implore you, nay, beg of you to get this game on XBLA or Steam, it's worth every single dollar as I want these guys to make another game or for the narrator to come to my house and give me a lecture about quantum mechanics and their relation to the Futurama Universe.

It's still not confirmed yet, but it should be a spot of bright sunshine for awaiting PlayStation Vita fans all over.
As rumors would have it, Sony is actually going to send out their downloadable titles for a cheaper price than those being sold at retail. That's certainly good news, particularly because the handheld won't be including a memory card when it ships out to retail.
Much complaining has been made once this bit of news was  confirmed by Sony, and really, it does beg clarification as to why Sony would require it to be a separate purchase, considering that it's an integral part of the system.

A new Kinecxt title is looking to bring to life on video game the infamous mercenary company, Blackwater.
Under the tutelage of Zombie Studios, the mercenary game was crafted in partnership with no less than Blackwater founder, Erik Prince.
Curiously enoug, though, when you talk of a mercenary game, one would think that it's going to be full of blood and gore. Not quite the scenario here in Blackwater, though. Zombie Studios said that they have in fact turned those elements down, instead going for sub-human enemies for  players to hunt and shoot down.
Blackwater is expected to come out for Kinect by next month, October. In the meantime, do check out this video of the game in action below.
