The enormous online retailer offers a pretty sweet deal for gamers looking to pick up more than one of the biggest titles of the year.

Let’s face it, 2011 is a ridiculous year for games. There are so many great titles coming out this year that it’s a wonder we’ll find time to play them all. And, unfortunately, it seems that a large majority of the best titles are hitting shelves all within the same general timeframe. While it makes sense for developers to target the holiday season, it’s pretty tough on passionate gamers who have to think with their wallets.

On the plus side, Amazon.com is making it a little easier to get the games you want with a limited time buy two, get one free promotion. They’re not junk games, either – I see Arkham City, Gears 3, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, Pokémon Rumble Blast, Dark Souls and Rage on the list, in addition to plenty of others.

All is not lost for Jade Empire

Jade Empire fans can cling on to the last, tiniest remaining shards of hope for a new Jade Empire. Developers BioWare have once again expressed their intent to come out with a new one in the future.

Said BioWare co-founder and CEO Ray Muzyka, "We've been talking a lot about that actually on and off over the years. It's an IP, and it's a setting that we're really passionate about, and we still are. Both Greg [Zeshuck] and I were big believers in the IP."

So what's keeping them from just doing it? "We're just looking for the right way to deploy it," he said. "You never know. We don't have anything to announce on it right now, but it is a franchise that's near and dear to us."

But we want to know. Fans have been clamoring for a revival of the said IP, especially after its astounding performance when it launched a few years back. At least we're certain that they're still interested in it. Even back in March, BioWare has expressed that they are not closing their doors on a comeback for Jade Empire. Hopefully, though, they'll act on it, and fast.

South Korea downloads their games fastest

For a country who considers online gaming as a national sport, with people willing to jump off buildings for their online characters, this news doesn't really come as a surprise.

According to Pando Networks, research, South Korea ranks the number one country in terms of speed in downloading games. Based on their data gathered from January to June 2011, from 27 million downloads by 20 million computers in 224 countries, South Korea's average speed is at 2,202KBps.

The following countries take runner-up spots to South Korea:

Romania (1,909KBps)

Bulgaria (1,611KBps)

Lithuania (1,462KBps)

Latvia (1,377KBps)

Ukraine (1,190KBps)

So where does North America stand? Surprisingly, a bit farther down the line, with the US clocking in a speed rate of 616KBps, and Canada registering 579KBps.

Said Robert Levitan, Pando Networks' CEO,of their findings, "The disparities we found were striking. While, in general, developed economies outpaced the developing world in average download speeds, big names such as the US, UK, France, china and Canada were not even close to being the fastest."

That is a surprising turnout, considering that the assumption is that first world countries will have the superior technological infrastructure. Then again, they're not mutually exclusive, so it appears.

While south Korea's basking in the top spot for this particular study, their Northern counterpart was recently involved in serious allegations that North Korea is stealing money from MMOs through hired hackers.

Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta extended

Well if this isn't swell luck. Naughty Dog has announced the fantastic news that you'll get to play the multiplayer beta for Uncharted 3 a day longer.

Originally set for closing today, the publisher has instead decided to give players another day to enjoy it before pulling it out completely tomorrow morning, July 15th, at 9AM PDT. Okay, so it's just a full day. Still, it's another full day to join Nathan Drake in his latest action before it officially comes out on November 1st in North America, and November 2nd for Europe.

Actually, this is the second day of extension already as it was originally set to end officially yesterday, July 13th. Well this is one delay fans surely won't mind.

Uncharted 3 recently was under fire over Naughty Dog's decision to not have dedicated servers for the game.

Naughty Dog has announced the fantastic news that you'll get to play the multiplayer beta for Uncharted 3 a day longer -- again.

Bodycount gets new release date

Codemasters did say it was going to be rescheduled for a "Spring 2011" release.

Bodycount, the upcoming shooter beset by production problems, may very well be on its way out, finally. Publisher Codemasters has now announced that the game will be hitting retail stores in North America by August 30th, while EMEA regions will be picking it up come September 2nd.

It's been a while since we've heard anything of Bodycount, and really, who could blame the fans who thought it was vaporware already? Stuart Black was originally the creative director for Bodycount, but left the company late last year, throwing the game's develompent off-course. That changes today, though, because Codemasters also sent out this new gameplay trailer for Bodycount, to accompany the good news of the said release dates. Enjoy!

Far Cry 3 development started immediately after FC2

Here's a bit of a cool trivia for all you Far Cry fans out there. Did you know that the third installment of the series, Far Cry 2, has been in development since way back 2008?

This was the revelation made by lead narrative designer Jason Vandernbergh. In fact, "four or five years, we started right after Far Cry 2 shipped." Okay, that's just some three years ago, so just pardon him for the miscalculation.

Anyway, he also talked a little bit about the hang gliders, although he kept it to a bare minimum. "We can't tell you about that, but it is a marquee feature. One of the things we heard from fans on Far Cry 2 was it was hard to get around, so we're looking at new ways to fix that."

Far Cry 3's first started being rumored to being in development as early as 2009. It was only at this year's E3 that it was officially announced by Ubisoft.

Halo 4's been in development for a long time already

After denying it for ages, Microsoft's now come clean that Halo 4 has indeed been in the works for quite a while now.

In an interview with Gametrailers, Don Mattrick revealed: "Well it's been in development for multiple years, so I guess that counts as a secret." If that's the case, then there's a huge possibility that they started developing the game just around the same time as Halo: Reach, if not simultaneously with.

Rumors have been consistently strong that there will be another Halo on the way, despite Microsoft's repeated denials. They even went so far as to claim that they "almost went for Halo: 4 instead of Halo: Reach."

If anything, we have to give props to Microsoft for managing to keep it tightly under wraps.

Video: MX vs ATV Alive Bar to Bar Racing trailer

It was only earlier this year when THQ announced and confirmed the arrival of their latest off-road racing title, MX vs. ATV Alive. It won't be coming out till next month, but I guess it's only fair that we now get to see what's going to be waiting for us in it, right?

This new gameplay trailer comes in good time, therefore. It's the game's Bar to Bar Racing trailer, and it's sure to get you all pumped up with adrenaline.

So what does "Bar to Bar" mean? James "Bubba" Stewart helps us out, explaining that it's when "you actually come in, hit a guy, and the guy comes back in and hits you." The bar being referred to here, therefore, would be the bike's handlebar, and not where you go drinking liquors from one place to another.That's a different sport altogether.

Plainly, it's all about getting even, making sure you don't get knocked out of the race. Check out the video below.

MX vs. ATV Alive comes out May 2011.

MX vs. ATV Alive won't be coming out till next month, but as early as now, you should probably be forewarned of the dangers that come in the off-road biking circuit.
