Because without new Angry Birds levels, the games industry would surely collapse.
If you ask any serious game about the one thing they wish they had, chances are good they’d say, “More Angry Birds stuff.” Angry Birds is, in many ways, the best game ever made, and it’s ridiculous that anyone would play any other game. The immense depth, completely original concept and truly marketable characters set it above and beyond pretty much any other title.
If you, like the rest of the world, simply can’t wait to get your hands on new Angry Birds content, today’s your day. Or, well, March 7 is your day. Rovio, the luminaries behind Angry Birds have confirmed that the next groundbreaking update for Angry Birds Seasons hits digital stores on that date.
The new update, titled Cherry Blossoms, borrows a few themes from Asian culture. Beyond that, there aren’t many details available. But this is Rovio we’re talking about, so the new content is sure to be incredible.
I’m rapt with anticipation for yet another mind-blowing entry in what I would hands-down describe as the most compelling experience any gaming platform has to offer.
Thank you, Rovio.

Insert basketball-related pun here.
It’s been three years since we last visited the NBA Live franchise. NBA Live 10, released in 2009, was the last chance fans of the Live franchise had to get their LeBron James on. While a new basketball title under the name NBA Elite had been planned, it was scrapped back in 2010 after it turned out to be terrible. Since then, players have had to rely on updates to NBA Live 2012 to keep their NBA fantasies alive.
Well, update no more, basketball lovers. EA has announced that it’s bringing the NBA Live brand back this year, with NBA Live 13. According to EA Sports, Live 13 will be a brand new experience that “captures the future” of basketball. Whatever that may mean. Space Jam, maybe?
Details are relatively scant at the moment, but EA has promised an update on the game’s official Facebook page sometime next week. So stay tuned for more information.
In the meantime, you can keep an eye on the EA Sports NBA Twitter for a steady stream of NBA players playing early builds of the new title.

But it runs on the Frostbite 2.0 engine!
If there’s one thing we learned from 2011, it’s that people will buy pretty much anything as long as it’s a first-person shooter. And since DICE isn’t likely to release another Battlefield title this year, somebody is going to have to stand up and take a (very small) bite out of Black Ops 2. That somebody appears to be Danger Close, and their strategy appears to be Medal of Honor.
The next Medal of Honor, subtitled Warfighter (creative), will hit shelves in October. The game is being built with DICE’s Frostbite 2.0 game engine—the very same one that powers the exceptionally pretty Battlefield 3. DICE, however, will not be involved in development; Danger Close has elected to build the entire game in-studio.
EA is planning to drop more details on the game at GDC in a couple of weeks. For now, we’ll just have to be satisfied with the promise of yet another brownish FPS.
Stay tuned for more updates, and in the meantime—do you prefer Medal of Honor over CoD or Battlefield?

Players under 18 may only be allowed three hours of game time per day.
You’re probably familiar with South Korea’s gaming shutdown law, which went into effect late last year. The law essentially blocks gamers under 18 from accessing online games during a six-hour block late in the night. The nation’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, however, is looking for even steeper measures.
MEST believes that the danger in gaming doesn’t come so much from when kids play as it does from how much time they spend playing. It makes sense when you think about it – what’s worse for your health, ten hours of daytime gaming, or one hour of late night play? With this in mind, the agency is currently reviewing a new program that will limit all minors in the country to only three hours of game time per day, with only two hours being allowed consecutively.
Resistance to the proposed rule has already reared its head, with many critics noting that South Korea is regulating gaming from three separate government agencies. Whatever the concern, South Korea has shown its willingness to interfere in the lives of gamers before, so there’s no telling whether this particular rule will or won’t be implemented.
We’ll keep you updated. In the meantime, do you think the government has a right to tell you when you can play games, and for how long? Is it right to try to protect young gamers from bad habits?

It goes without saying that if you’re releasing a popular game, you almost have to create an additional collector’s edition with some extra goodies. This is certainly the case for The Witcher 2, which is scheduled to hit the Xbox 360 on April 17. The Dark Edition, which runs a relatively fair $79.99, is packed with the accoutrements we’ve come to expect from collector’s edition boxes.
Here’s what you’ll get with the Dark Edition version of the game:
World map
Quest book
Making-of DVD
Soundtrack
Stickers
Art book
Wolf head medallion
Pretty standard fare for a CE. Art book, soundtrack, some sort of game-related trinket. But that’s not all! Depending on where you pre-order the Dark Edition, you’ll also receive some of the following loot:
Comic book
Two wolf head t-shirts
Medallion keychain
Xbox Live Avatars
Avatar pet

EA plans to include DLC download codes with series two of the Mass Effect action figure lineup.
Do you like Mass Effect? Do you like DLC? What about action figures? If you said yes to all three questions, then man have we got a deal for you. It looks like EA, the publisher behind Bioware’s upcoming space-RPG Mass Effect 3, has an interesting plan for delivering DLC to gamers: toys.
According to information posted by the Big Bad Toy Store, series two of the Mass Effect action figure series will come packaged with special codes, valid for special “in-game bonus content.” Every figure apparently comes with its own bit of DLC, so it’s safe to assume the updates are limited to weapons, armor and other small accessories.
Here’s a list of the figures coming in series two:
Miranda
Mordin
Garrus
Legion
There’s no information available on whether you’ll have to buy the toys to get this DLC, or if it will be made available to regular players without a penchant for plastic. In the meantime, it does seem to be a cool way to sell DLC – who wouldn’t want a mini Miranda on their desk?

EA announces partnerships with brand new developers for its expanding download hub.
EA’s Origin service is still relatively young when compared with other digital download services, but it is also powered by enormous AAA games like Battlefield 3 and Star Wars: The Old Republic. These massively popular hits have helped to launch Origin high into the competitive stratosphere, even as continuous customer complaints roll out about the service and its support network.
EA is looking to expand their hold over the digital distribution market, and is now bringing on a few third-party developers. These developers will make some of their most popular games available through Origin, further increasing the flexibility of the software and its appeal to gamers (in theory).
Here’s a quick list of who you can expect to see on Origin in the near future:
Trion Worlds
CD Projekt Red
Freebird Games
Recoil Games
Autumn Games
1C Company
inXile Entertainment
Paradox Interactive
Core Learning Ltd.
N3V Games
With the one exception of Trion’s Rift, which is available starting today on Origin, there’s no information available on which games we can expect to see from each developer. EA only stated that games would be appearing over the next few months.
We’ll keep you updated as details roll out. In the meantime, how has your Origin experience been so far?

The gaming luminary is developing a brand new, top-secret project for the Wii U.
Shigeru Miyamoto is a busy guy. He’s in charge of pretty much every important franchise at Nintendo, and has confirmed that he’s currently working on Pikmin 3 and Luigi’s Mansion for the Wii U. However, he seems to be working on a brand new franchise in addition to the games that have already been announced.
In an interview with Zoomin Games, Miyamoto discussed the expectations that have been placed on him by fans, and how he strives to live up to their demands. He also noted that despite the pressure to hit grand slams, he has no fear of developing all-new project.
The legendary developer is the mind behind some of the biggest characters in the industry, most notably Super Mario. Anything he makes usually ends up being well received and well remembered, but it’s been quite some time since he had his hands in a completely original property. It will be interesting to see what he’s up to.

Having trouble with a certain fight in Star Wars: The Old Republic? Dance it out!
In news that comes directly from the “how in the world did this get overlooked” file, it appears that savvy Old Republic players have picked up on a hilarious and game-breaking glitch in the popular MMORPG. Namely, that dancing while in combat makes your player character completely immune to damage.
The bug isn’t necessarily a god cheat – you’ll have to activate the dancing emote at just the right moment to make it work. However, if you happen to pull it off, you’ll interrupt the targeting of any enemy scoping you out for the duration of your dance. Oops!
It’s amazing that this bug somehow made it into the finished version of SWTOR, and you can bet that Bioware will be getting it patched post-haste. In the meantime, any mention of the bug is being removed from the official SWTOR forums; Bioware claims this is just standard operating procedure (they don’t want players spreading glitches).
SWTOR is still young, so there’s bound to be a few weird bugs. Every MMO has them – what is your favorite legendary MMORPG glitch?

The company aims its first entry in the world of games publishing at the end of the week, but can they make it?
Up until this week, Mojang’s only claim to fame is Minecraft. Of course, Minecraft is an enormous claim to fame, with a successful PC release, a ridiculous beta period and a perfectly okay mobile adaptation. Which is why when the studio announced it would be branching out into games publishing, most people were excited to see what they’d come up with.
Their first publishing title, known as Cobalt, is a side-scrolling action game set for release sometime in the next few months. But, as with Minecraft, Mojang intends to release the game in both alpha and beta phases, allowing gamers to play it and offer feedback that will hopefully turn it into another home run. It’s a unique design philosophy – one that worked out big time with Minecraft.
Mojang went on the record as hoping to drop the alpha version of Cobalt by Friday, but there are a few things holding them back. They need to touch up a few final in-game details, and they have to sort out the Mojang login system, which will allow you to access Minecraft, Cobalt and the company’s future game, Scrolls (Skyrim 2, right?).
If the studio can get everything together in time, you’ll be able to access the Oxeye-helmed Cobalt sometime on Friday. You can purchase the game in alpha state and, as with Minecraft, receive every future update free.
Keep an eye out for Cobalt, and we’ll keep you updated if anything major happens with the release. In the meantime, what do you think of the alpha/beta release strategy?

The legendary game creator announces his desire to change roles at Nintendo, but Nintendo vehemently denies that he’ll be swapping posts.
Last night, the internet exploded with news that Shigeru Miyamoto was retiring from his current position at Nintendo. While not leaving the company or the games industry, Miyamoto stated that he wanted to leave the huge franchises like Zelda and Mario to teams of younger developers so that he could go on to work on smaller projects with shorter development times. He even mentioned his love for the guy that created the Rubik’s cube.
The news was interesting, to be sure – Miyamoto clearly wants to work closer to the cutting edge of development, rather than as the guy who steers multi-billion dollar franchises. But I’m guessing Nintendo’s shareholders weren’t too happy with the information, because the company has issued a stern denial:
"This is absolutely not true.  There seems to have been a misunderstanding. He has said all along that he wants to train the younger generation.
"He has no intention of stepping down. Please do not be concerned."
Nintendo is clearly trying to calm investor fears that the man responsible for most of the company’s success would be stepping into a position with less responsibility, despite the fact that the original interview seemed pretty clear about Miyamoto’s intent.
There’s obviously a small chance this whole thing is a translation error, but the odds of that are miniscule. More likely, Miyamoto has been planning this type of move for years and perhaps announced it before Nintendo had time to do the proper legwork with investors.
We’ll just have to see how the story plays out. In the meantime, what would you think of a Zelda or Mario project without Miyamoto’s oversight?

The new dashboard for the Xbox 360 launches this week, but it may be missing a few of its most anticipated features.
If you were excited about bringing your favorite television shows to your Xbox dashboard, you may be in for a bit of bad news this morning, as it looks like some of the bigger partners for Microsoft’ big re-launch aren’t quite ready to send their services to the console. Xfinity, Verizon, HBO and the UFC are all reporting that their services will unfortunately be unavailable at launch, with a planned “early 2012” release.
It’s definitely a bummer for anyone that was expecting to merge their two services together, but for the most part this delay probably doesn’t affect most Xbox users. It does cause one to wonder whether Microsoft is actually ready to push the update live, or if they’re just rushing it out so they can meet the goal they set for themselves.

The days of three-point something something have come and gone – it’s time for the fours.
It seems like we just got a PS3 firmware update, but time flies in the world of games. As of today, you and your fellow PS3 owners can pick up the latest and greatest version of the PS3’s firmware, titled v.4.00. It’s been a long time coming, but it’s finally here – assuming firmware is a thing you eagerly anticipate and not a thing that renders your PS3 useless.
The PlayStation blog offers a few details on what you can expect from this new and improved firmware. Vita compatibility has been included, allowing you to share content from the device to your PS3. Here’s one cool thing: if you have a PlayStation Plus membership, you’ll be able to disable or enable automatic updates for patches, system software and trophy information syncs. Pretty handy, eh?
There are a number of other things being added, including privacy features, cinema conversion for Blu-ray and a couple of localized language options. All in all, this seems like a pretty straightforward software update without too many bells and whistles.
There’s no word on whether the new firmware breaks any of the existing (or leaked) hacks for the 3.73 firmware, so it’s probably a roll of the dice for those of you with modded consoles.
Let us know if you spot anything.

Today must be “Official Update Your Game Day,” with yet another high profile title getting patched.
Whew, today has been crazy. Skyrim, World of Warcraft and EVE are all getting patched or updated today, and apparently so is Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception. I guess Tuesday is a universally accepted day to patch games, probably due to low overall traffic in the middle of the week. Who knows?
Whatever the reason, Naughty Dog has chosen today to deliver your eagerly anticipated Uncharted 3 patch. The game update addresses a few issues, such as fixing a motion blur problem and preventing multiplayer medal streaks from resetting, but the most important change is likely the addition of new “Alternate Aim Settings.”
The new aim settings were introduced into the game as the result of player feedback. Some players felt that aiming in Uncharted 3 had changed slightly from Uncharted 2, and not for the better. Naughty Dog actually brought a few fans into the studio to work with different  builds and provide more detailed feedback, and working with that and general player comments added the Alternate Aim Settings option to the game. You’ll just have to try it to see if it works for you.
They’ve also added a movie cut scene viewer, though I thought that’s what Uncharted was to begin with.
You can check out the full patch notes here or just download the patch to your PS3 if you’d rather live dangerously.
Be sure to let us know what you think of the new aiming system.

The latest game in the Elder Scrolls franchise is a certifiable hit, but not everyone that picked up the game is completely satisfied.
We all knew that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was going to be a big deal, but initial sales numbers have far outstripped expert predictions. In the first two days of the games launch, it landed an impressive 3.5 million copies sold – not counting Steam sales. That lands the game in Battlefield 3 territory, though not quite at MW3 levels.
For reference, the last game in the franchise opened with 490,000 sales. That’s quite a bounce from one game to the next.
The launch hasn’t been without issue though, and Xbox, PS3 and PC owners have all reported a myriad of strange and annoying bugs. The Xbox 360 is having issues reading saved textures, PS3 systems aren’t streaming textures correctly and PC systems are reporting random freezes and crashes.
It wouldn’t be a Bethesda game without a few bugs, and the company is aware of the issues. In fact, they’re more than aware, as evidenced by this hilarious tweet form Pet Hines, Bethesda’s VP of PR:
“Patches/updates take a little time. We can't turn it around quite that fast. It's been three days. Calm down. We're working on it.”

Honestly, people do need to calm down. Bethesda delivered a 300-hour epic; it’s not surprising that it has a few issues. They’re working on it and that’s pretty much all they can do, so if you’re experiencing issues in Skyrim, rest assured that Bethesda is on the ball.
In the meantime, how awesome is that horse?!

The biggest launch of the year is officially in full swing. Did you already pick up your copy?
Modern Warfare 3 is officially on shelves, with thousands of gamers lining up the night to pick up their copies before anyone else. I know for a fact that my neighbor picked up a midnight copy – the explosions started right around 12:45. Launch events across the country were packed with gamers eagerly awaiting their first chance to play the game through in-store tournaments and other special events.
The launch seems to have gone fairly smoothly, with Call of Duty Elite experiencing only minor issues due to the large rush of people joining up. Elite is only available on Xbox 360 at the moment, with the PS3 version being pushed live on a PlayStation Store update later on and the PC version still delayed indefinitely due to concerns over stat rigging. We’ll have to see how the service holds up once everyone is able to access it before passing judgment.
Review scores are starting to trickle in, with the game (at least the 360 version) holding down a high 90 score on Metacritic. Most reviewers seem to note that the game isn’t reinventing the wheel, but delivers so strongly on the promises of the franchise that it’s still quite a success for the fractured Infinity Ward team. Of course, there are very few reviews posted so that’s another thing we’ll have to wait on.
Are you playing MW3 today? Is it truly the “most anticipated game of all time?” Sound off in the comments if you can pull yourself away from the TV.

The company that’s usually pretty careful about its public image is in hot water over an interview played during the Blizzcon closing concert, one that contains homophobic slurs and profanity galore.
If you made it out to Blizzcon and were lucky enough to catch the closing concert, you may remember a brief video clip played during the performance of Level 90 Elite Tauren Chieftan. The video featured Corpsegrinder, the lead singer of Cannibal Corpse, and generally revolved around his passion for World of Warcraft and insane hatred of the Alliance faction.
You can check the video out here, but be warned that it contains graphic language:
The video, which is packed to the gills with curse words and homophobic slurs like “faggot” and “queer,” was somehow vetted by Blizzard officials and shown to the Blizzcon audience. Naturally, the gay gamer community is fairly upset over the remarks, but more so over Blizzard’s insensitivity to the subject matter. It’s worth noting that the content was censored in the video that played for the audience, meaning most of the words had to be inferred.
All gamers deal with profanity now and again, and homophobic remarks often seem to come with the territory, but there’s a big difference between someone calling you a “fag” in general chat and the game company broadcasting those terms out to the world. Knowing Blizzards in-game chat policy for WoW, it’s surprising they would make public any video that violates their own rules, but perhaps it was just an error in judgment.
The forums are blowing up regarding the video, with numerous threads of complaints and a few weak “it was a joke” apologies from Blizzard staff. The most recent update involved locking all previous posts and providing this snippet to forum members:
“Thank you everyone for your feedback regarding the closing night performance at BlizzCon. While we had some other messaging worked up we were going to post, the members of band wanted to instead address it themselves:
Hey guys, we read and heard all the feedback from BlizzCon this year. The Corpsegrinder bit was never intended to be taken seriously. We are sorry that we offended anyone; everything at our shows is just meant in fun. Thank you all for speaking up. We’ll definitely keep this in mind for future shows.
Our humblest apologies,
Level 90 Elite Tauren Chieftain”
The drama is still ongoing, so we’ll see what ends up happening. There’s not much Blizz can do besides apologize, but some players are definitely upset.
What do you think is the appropriate response?

With the actual game release coming up fast, Notch and Mojang have officially stopped any work on new features for Minecraft.
Minecraft is such a strange title. Created by one guy with some spare time, the game has become an incredible success. What many gamers often forget, however, is that Minecraft has never been officially released – it’s been in some form of beta ever since its initial launch.
Mojang has been pushing for a November release of the title, and in the meantime has been adding features, fixing bugs and incorporating player feedback into the game and its mechanics. As of today, they’ve officially announced that there will be no new features developed until after release, with development time instead shifting to focus on making sure everything they already have functions as well as possible.
From Notch’s blog:
“The adventure update is going great! We’re adding features and cramming in content, and then started feature creeping and content creeping. What we’ve got on our hands now is somewhere in between a finished Adventure Mode update and a version of the game we’d be proud to call just ‘Minecraft’. Not ‘Minecraft Beta’ or ‘Minecraft Alpha’, but just plain and simple ‘Minecraft’.”
As of today, Mojang has one month on the dot to get Minecraft up to speed. The official full launch of the game is scheduled for November 18th, live on stage at the Las Vegas MineCon.
How a game that hasn’t even been officially released already has its own convention is beyond me, but look to MineCon for any special announcements regarding the resumption of feature work.
You may even get a  preview of Mojang’s next game, Scrolls, which so far has been allowed to keep its name despite a very stupid lawsuit from Bethesda (sort of).
Are you excited about the final MineCraft release, or would you like to see a few more software updates before they  stop development altogether?

Nintendo continues its trend of multicolored handheld devices by announcing two new colors for the 3DS. Can this update bring new customers to the platform?
The Nintendo 3DS has experienced its fair share of issues since launch. Customers don’t seem to be in any hurry to purchase it, and the lack of demand has already caused Nintendo to drop the price substantially in the hopes of finding more players. Even hardcore Nintendo fans like myself have lamented the overall lack of titles and the sore eyes that accompany long-term 3D play.
Nintendo doesn’t seem to be dissuaded by these minor setbacks and instead has announced two new color additions to the 3DS line-up. Japanese consumers will be able to choose between “Misty Pink,” available on October 20th, and “Ice White,” available on November 3rd. This brings the total number of 3DS color variants to five: Ice White, Misty Pink, Aqua Blue, Cosmos Black and Red Flame.
As of right now, there is no confirmed release date for the color variants here in the States, but it’s safe to assume we’ll be seeing them soon enough.
While new color configurations are certainly one way to pull in new buyers, they don’t really solve any of the primary problems gamers currently experience with the 3DS. The drop in price is certainly agreeable to consumer wallets, but without a killer game, it’s unlikely that new color variants will bring too many more gamers into the 3DS fold.
The 3DS release schedule for the holiday season looks strong through, with “Harvest Moon: The Tale of Two Towns,” “Super Mario 3D Land” and “Mario Kart 7” all set to hit shelves in the next couple of months.
Are you tempted to buy a 3DS when new colors arrive, or are you waiting until better games come along?

Player feedback leads Sega to extend development on one of the most anticipated and long-developing games in recent memory – the sequel to the ahead-of-its-time “Phantasy Star Online.”
If you owned a Dreamcast but you didn’t play “Phantasy Star Online,” you missed out on the future of online console gaming. Of course, gaming eventually caught up with “Final Fantasy XI,” Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network, but for one brief period in the year 2000, “Phantasy Star Online” showed us what it could be like to play console games online. For the most part, I would categorize the experience as “majestically frustrating.”
The game has seen a variety of updates and half-sequels in the years since its release, but only recently were plans for a full-on follow-up announced to the gaming public. Unfortunately, it looks like fans of the franchis will have to wait a little bit longer, as Sega has just confirmed that “Phantasy Star Online 2” has been pushed into a 2012 release.
According to a quote over at Silocon Era, Producer Satoshi Sakai indicates the game delay is a result of feedback gathered during the game’s early alpha period. Sega is looking to fix or improve upon many of the features that concerned or didn’t jive with testers, and has opted to sacrifice a quick release in the hopes of dropping a more polished game.
A second alpha test will likely begin in the early months of 2012, with the development cycle moving forward based on the results of that test.
Unfortunately for North American gamers, “Phantasy Star Online 2” is still set to be released as a Japanese exclusive – you’d better fire up your import discs and brush up on your Japanese if you’re looking forward to playing the game.
As for me, I sometimes miss the old days, when online gaming felt more like a secret club than a DLC delivery tube. How about you?

Almost a year after the then-highly anticipated game from Polyphony Digital, Gran Turismo 5 is coming out with a Spec Update II next month.
Game creator Kazunori Yamauchi expressed gratitude to the fans for their patience in waiting for the said update, and reassured them that the long wait will be over soon.
"GT fans, thanks for waiting... The GT5 Spec 2.0 update is coming the 3rd week of October, with DLC following a week later." Wow, that definitely makes it a double treat to look out for!
It's been a while since fans of the racing title had any significant action going on in their corner, so this should up their spirits now that a DLC is even coming in. New tracks are in order, maybe?
The last time Polyphony served up some fresh goodness for Gran Turismo 5 was when it released update 1.10 back in June. The Spec II Update coming out in the same month as its rival, Forza Motorsport 4, should bring the heat back in the racing tracks!

Not wanting to disappoint all those fans who's kept Dead Island on top of the charts all these past weeks, Techland has now released a brand new patch to send out tweaks and fixes for the game.
They're throwing in new Trophies as well to further up that gaming challenge. But first, on the new patch.
This release is called Update 1.02, which is made available for PS3 gamers in EU and the US regions. No idea yet as to if and when it will come out to other territories, but it is said to improve connectivity between players.
As for the additional Trophies thrown in the mix for the upcoming Bloodbat Arena DLC, you'd want to check out the screenshot below:
Dead Island has been consistently reigning on top of the charts, particularly in the UK, giving credence to the hype that surrounded it prior to its launch, albeit a very problematic one. Good thing the game turned out good, or else even the devs who left an "insider joke" in the game would have absolutely no reason to laugh.

A new patch has been released for Mortal Kombat by NetherRealm Studios, bringing in some more tweaks and fixes to further improve your gaming experience.
The patch didn't release simultaneously on both consoles, however, with the Xbox 360 getting it first. PS3 owners will have to wait a bit later, specifically a few more days.
The update also included a lot of changes for the characters, which definitely gives a boost to those who are not as competitive to begin with. In the meantime, here are the gameplay fixes and tweaks now available on Mortal Kombat's latest update:
General Gameplay Fixes/Tweaks
Fixed a couple of crash scenarios.
DLC billboards should now behave correctly on Xbox
You should no longer see online desyncs on Xbox that are related to alternate costumes or classic costume DLC packs.
MOTD handling and displaying code was tweaked.
Fixed a bug that could have resulted in tweakvars getting corrupted.
Fixed a crash in player select if you tried to exit out while the dlc box was open.
With the exception of Human Cyrax and Human Sektor, everyone’s alternate costumes should behave the same as their primary costumes and have the exact same move properties.
You can now block after a dash forward is completed if it was cancelled into from a special move. You canceling out of a dash into another dash was normalized for most of the characters. Dash Block canceling remains the same.
Wakeup attacks should have better invulnerability on them if done in the first 4 frames of the wakeup window. (this was added as a hotfix tweakable value)
You no longer get a completely free throw attempt after someone blocks your jump punch. The opponent has less block hit frames but chained combos from a jump punch will remain the same.
There were several reactions that could freeze players just before they landed from attacks and reactions such as Kano’s Airball and Cyrax’s Net air reaction.
Made many minor hitbox adjustments.
Tweaked the negative edge window.
Several low attacks were being parried incorrectly.
Nightwolf and Kenshi can no longer still absorb a projectile if they get hit out of their enhanced reflects before the recovery frames start.
The Mortal Kombat continues to expand its reach, but despite fans' clamor, a Street Fighter vs. Mortal Kombat title is "easier said than done", this according to Capcom's big boss himself, Yoshinori Ono.

It's not supposed to be out this early, but oh well, I guess it's the best time to come out with it. Yes, the official soundtrack for Gears of War 3 is already out on iTunes.
Gears of War 3 launched with much fanfare from Epic Games and Microsoft, and why not? The hype has been steadily building the past months, and today culminates all those days and nights of anticipating.
Prior to the launch this midnight, Epic Games sent out a title update for compliance, which, however, threatened to affect saved date for those who got the game early.
Anyway, the Gears of War 3 soundtrack is available now on the iTunes for US$ 9.99. Get it now so you can enjoy the game while you plow your way through the action of Marcus and friends.
