An invitation-only reveal at GDC promises to unveil the next generation of game building technology.
Unreal Engine is one of the core building blocks of the games industry. Countless classic titles have been built using one version or another of Epic’s engine, from Batman: Arkham City to Mass Effect 3. And it looks like Epic is ready to unveil the next iteration of its powerful game authoring software—to very specific people.
The company has confirmed that Unreal Engine 4 will be shown at this year’s Game Developers Conference, scheduled to begin March 6 in San Francisco. However, the engine will not be on public display; only a select few individuals will have the privilege of viewing the software in action. Those individuals, mostly partners, customers and prospective customers, will be bound by NDA.
The NDA, apparently, is in effect due to Unreal Engine 4 running on next-gen technologies that can’t be discussed in a public forum. You know, like those top-secret Microsoft and Sony projects that are perhaps less secret that the companies would like to admit.
If you’re a fan of Epic, you’ll still have a chance to interact with the company at GDC. Tim Sweeney, Rod Fergusson and Cliff Bleszinski will be participating in 15 events over the course of the week, all of which are open to any attendee that wishes to participate.
Are you excited to see what Unreal Engine 4 will bring to the table?

The UK software sales charts hint that Vita’s launch may have gone quite well.
Vita has only been out for a few days, so we sadly don’t have any official numbers in regard to how many devices have sold worldwide. Since we likely wont’ have that info for a week or so, we’ll have to look to other sources to figure out how Vita is doing. Sources like the UK’s weekly sales tally.
According to Edge, Uncharted: Golden Abyss was the best-selling game of the week in the UK. The title beat out FIFA Football, UFC Undisputed 3 and FIFA 12, indicating strong demand for the Vita handheld. If you need a bit more evidence, Rayman Origins also broke the top ten, landing in fifth place for the week (though its sales figures represent sales on all platforms). WipEout 2048 landed at 11, missing the top ten but still performing well.
If you’re keeping score, that’s one launch title in first place, one launch title getting a big boost thanks to the Vita version moving units, and one launch title sitting just outside of the top ten. These numbers certainly hint that Vita’s western launch is off to a strong start.
We’ll have to wait until Sony releases official sales figures to get an idea of exactly how well the Vita is doing, but for now, it’s safe to say that the launch has gone relatively well.
Did you pick up a Vita last week?

Nintendo has an official launch window for fans of the series.
Pokémon White and Black were the closest thing to a refresh the Pokémon series has received in a long time. While Game Freak didn’t make too many changes to the “throw Pokéball, commence fighting” mechanics of the game, new graphics and streamlined maps made the games seem almost new and innovative.
If you enjoyed Pokémon Black and White, you probably caught wind of the news that a sequel to each is headed your way. And thanks to an official confirmation from Nintendo, we now have some idea of exactly when that will occur. As we noted in the announcement article, the Japan release is set for June. If you live in the U.S. or in Europe, you can expect to be battling away again this fall.
The two games are direct sequels to Black and White, and this announcement marks the first time in the history of the primary series that a title has been given a number in lieu of new colors. Black/White 2 are being released on the Nintendo DS, which indicates that a 3DS-specific Pokémon title is still a ways away. Still, 3DS and DSi owners will have access to special functions (unrevealed, at the moment).
Beyond that basic info, we don’t have many details on Pokémon White/Black 2. We’ll keep you updated as information slips out.
Are you ready to catch ‘em all, again?

Game cloning strikes again in Apple’s iTunes Store.
It goes without saying that the great majority of games on the iTunes Store are rip-offs of games that came before them. Even those titles that aren’t blatant copies (Zynga!) borrow mechanics from older games that the mobile populace may never have heard of. However, there’s a very thin line between copying mechanics and outright plagiarism, especially when the copying is done explicitly to scam customers.
Apple is normally on the lookout for stuff like this, but they seem to have dropped the ball when it comes to Pokemon Yellow, a game released on the iTunes Store on February 17. The game, featuring artwork from the Pokémon series and claiming to be “just like the original,” is nothing more than a sneaky cash grab by an unscrupulous game developer.
The app apparently does nothing more than open and crash, and certainly doesn’t contain anything remotely close to the original Pokémon Yellow for the Game Boy. The app developer has even gone so far as to generate fake reviews for the game, one of which claims, “Just like the original. Only better because you can play it on the most intuitive device ever - the iPhone!”
It’s all bullshit folks, so save your $0.99. Now that gaming news sites have caught a whiff of the fraud, it’s only a matter of time before Apple pulls the app.
Still, one has to wonder how the thing got through in the first place.

In Japan, the Nintendo 3DS just smashed its own sales records, fueled largely by a hot new title.
Monster Hunter is a pretty big deal in Japan. It’s also a pretty big deal here in the west, but in Japan, it’s a full-fledged phenomenon similar to Pokémon or Call of Duty. Essentially, it’s a must-have. The latest entry in the franchise, Monster Hunter 3G, has raked in an impressive 471,055 units sold in just the first week of release.
Thanks to this (relatively) massive launch, Nintendo saw sales of its 3DS handheld go straight through the roof. The company reports selling 371,326 units in the week of Monster Hunter 3G’s release – the best sales week on record since the device hit shelves. To date, the 3DS has moved over three million units, despite the fact that people seem dedicated to shaming it as a niche peripheral.
On interesting fact – the “week” of sales data for Monster Hunter 3G only represents the first two days of actual data. When the full numbers for the week are released, they’re sure to be much higher. In the meantime, it looks like Satoru Iwata can relax a little bit about the future of his company. Assuming, of course, that Shigeru Miyamoto doesn’t make any more unplanned announcements.

The indie game managed to best big-name opponents like Portal 2 and Pokémon to take the top prize at one of the Europe’s biggest games festivals.
GameCity is a massive video game convention/party that took place in Nottingham, U.K. last week. The festival, which is more than a trade show, is focused on connecting gamers with developers and exploring the nooks and crannies of gaming culture. Each year they award one game a grand prize, and this year a bright-eyed newcomer managed to snatch the title away from some of the biggest brands in the business.
Face with competition from games like Portal 2, LIMBO and Pokémon Black/White, Minecraft took the show’s top award. One interesting element of how the game is chosen – GameCity puts a jury together of people that don’t usually play games, comprised of celebrities and academics that play each game over a certain period of time preceding the festival. This gives the grand prize award a special twist, since it’s mostly free of the influence of brand loyalties or media hype.
While it’s fun to see an independently developed game earning some recognition, it’s also not much of a surprise – Minecraft is already a critical darling and has been downloaded millions of times by gamers that developed an immediate passion for its free-roaming content. The game is technically still in development, but look for plenty of other awards to come its way as soon as the retail version goes live.
Would you say that Minecraft is better than Portal 2? Better than Pokémon? Sound off in the comments.

The enormous online retailer offers a pretty sweet deal for gamers looking to pick up more than one of the biggest titles of the year.
Let’s face it, 2011 is a ridiculous year for games. There are so many great titles coming out this year that it’s a wonder we’ll find time to play them all. And, unfortunately, it seems that a large majority of the best titles are hitting shelves all within the same general timeframe. While it makes sense for developers to target the holiday season, it’s pretty tough on passionate gamers who have to think with their wallets.
On the plus side, Amazon.com is making it a little easier to get the games you want with a limited time buy two, get one free promotion. They’re not junk games, either – I see Arkham City, Gears 3, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land, Pokémon Rumble Blast, Dark Souls and Rage on the list, in addition to plenty of others.
Here’s the way it works – you buy any three games on the list from Amazon, and they’ll comp you the cheapest one. If you were planning to buy any three of the games you choose anyway, you’re coming out a little bit ahead of where you would have been. There are plenty of cheap games on the list, so this may be the perfect opportunity to pick up a few titles you may have missed this year.
I think I’m going to grab Super Paper Mario, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land and Arkham City. What three games are you putting in your Amazon cart?

The recent registration of the Pokémon Gray domain and persistent rumors indicate that your favorite collectable creatures may be preparing for their 3D debut.
This year saw the launch of Pokémon White and Pokémon Black for the Nintendo DS. Both games were about as successful as Pokémon games usually are, and received about the same response from critics and fans as usual. Nintendo is the one company in gaming that seems to understand the maxim of “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it,” and Pokémon is the crown jewel of their empire. Before the latest round of Pokémon games were announced and long before they hit our handhelds, Nintendo purchased the Pokemonblackwhite.com domain through Melbourne IT Digital Brand Services.
Now it looks like fans of the Pokémon brand have something new to look forward to, as the very same company has recently put a lock on Pokemongray.com. It could be some savvy web user looking to extort a few thousand dollars out of Nintendo, but it’s more likely that Nintendo is once again using Melbourne IT DBS to set up a domain for its next big property.
The site is pretty bland and states only:
“This Internet address is being managed by Melbourne IT DBS for one of the world's top brands. At the present time there is no active Web Site for the address. It may be under construction, or the owner may have reserved the address for future needs. “
So before we get all excited and start arguing about our favorite Pokémon, it’s probably best to wait for an official announcement. One can’t help but think this might be the first Pokémon title to grace the Nintendo DS; it’s pretty much the only major Nintendo franchise that hasn’t made an appearance on the device. Of course, if history is any indicator, the game is more likely headed to the regular Nintendo DS, with remastered or brand new games hitting the 3DS a little while later. That’s what we saw with Pokémon Silver and Soul Silver, for example.
What do you think is going to happen? 3D Pokémon or DS Black/White mash-up? Do you think Pokémon’s simplistic gameplay will transfer well into 3D?

Ó

The addition of the Pandaren in WoW’s latest expansion, plus the insertion of a Pokémon-like mini-game, seems to be the final step in sending the franchise into the ground.
Before I start this, I should note that I’m a huge World of Warcraft fan. It was actually the first computer game I played, since I grew up with consoles and never got around to PC gaming. I jumped on board about a month after the launch of vanilla WoW, and I played all the way through Wrath. I even worked at Blizzard for a couple of years, in a position my NDA explicitly forbids me from disclosing. What I’m saying is, you can trust me when I say I know WoW and its players pretty well.
I’ve been loosely following the progress of WoW since I walked away from it late last year. Cataclysm certainly looked like a step in the right direction, but the gradual dumbing down of WoW with simplified talent trees, charity epics and gold flowing from the hills like a waterfall turned me off to the whole thing. I enjoyed Wrath of the Lich King, but the challenge I had seen in dungeons like Upper Blackrock Spire and Blackwing Lair, and to a lesser degree the Black Temple, never really resurfaced. When a group of ten random people could clear a raid in one night, I knew that the game couldn’t offer me much of a challenge.
Mist of Pandaria, announced at Blizzcon yesterday,  looks like it’s designed to do one thing – make the fans happy. While this is certainly a good plan for generating sales, it doesn’t do much for the hardcore player looking for a challenge. All of the announced features seem to be making WoW even easier, and while casuals should absolutely have a place in any game, it just doesn’t seem like the same game that drew our passion and love in 2005. If you remember, Pandaren were added to Warcraft 3 as a joke – fans just happened to like them so they got retconned into the story.
Hell, even Blizzard was amazed that people liked them. Here’s a quote from the guy that designed the Pandaren Monk art for the original joke, Samwise Didier:
"But so we put that up in there and everyone was like “Oh my God! A PANDA RACE? That’s kind of cool!” And I’m like “Are you kidding me, really? You want to see pandas in Warcraft III or whatever?”
And now they’re taking that joke and shoving it into WoW. It’s been sad to watch the Warcraft lore die over the last few years and it’s pretty evident that Blizzard may be running out of ideas. They’ve basically pillaged everything they can from their history instead of coming up with new stories to tell, and an entire expansion based on the Pandaren makes it clear that they don’t have much left for World of Warcraft.
What’s really telling is the addition of a Pokémon-like mini-game, in which players will force their non-combat pets to fight. You’ll also be able to find and capture pets in the wild and then train them to be better fighters. It’s an interesting concept for killing time between raids or groups, but it also says a lot about how the WoW player base has changed in the last six years. Essentially, WoW has gone from MMO to casual Facebook game; it just has a nicer interface.
We’ll  have to see how the expansion goes – maybe I’m just an idiot. Maybe people want to play as Pandaren, and maybe they’ll have a great time. But it certainly looks like the WoW I loved is dead, and there won’t be any reason to come back. I just don’t think Blizzard knows how to update the franchise for hardcore players anymore. That, or they don’t care.
Guess we’ll just have to wait for that other top-secret Blizzard project, huh? Are you still going to play World of Warcraft after the new expansion?

mfpanda2The addition of the Pandaren in WoW’s latest expansion, plus the insertion of a Pokémon-like mini-game, seems to be the final step in sending the franchise into the ground.

The holiday new-game avalanche begins next week. Which new top-tier title are you planning on picking up?
We’re a full week into October now, and the holiday games rush is just starting to pick up. While next week’s launch is relatively small compared to the weeks to come, it still marks an important transition from the regular game launch schedule into the full-tilt holiday barrage. With that in mind, let’s take a look at some of the big titles headed our way in the month of October.
October 11 - Forza Motorsport 4
An Xbox 360 exclusive, “Forza Motorsport 4” boasts new cars, graphical improvements and improvements in both car handling and tuning. Reviews have been trickling in all week and the general consensus seems to be that the game holds up to its predecessors, especially when it comes to online racing. There’s a demo available now on Xbox Live.
October 18 - Batman: Arkham City
Following the events of “Arkham Asylum,” “Arkham City” revolves around the Riddler and yet another set of nefarious deeds conducted by familiar Batman villains. Preliminary reviews have been extremely positive, so it looks like this is going to be a critical darling come release. As a side note, if you pre-order this game at Wal-Mart, you’ll get a $10 gift card and the original “Arkham Asylum: GOTY Edition” as bonuses.
October 25 - Battlefield 3
While there are certainly huge titles coming out this year, much of the gaming press has been focused on the upcoming showdown between EA’s “Battlefield 3” and Activision’s “Modern Warfare 3.” This newest iteration of the “Battlefield” franchise is sure to be a juggernaut and features a new graphics engine that’s very, very pretty. The multiplayer beta is still live if you want to get an early taste.
October 24 - Kirby’s Return to Dreamland
Okay, so admittedly this game isn’t on the same scale as the other three, nor does it have any chance of becoming a massive hit in the way that “Battlefield 3” probably will. That being said, Kirby’s newest adventure is probably the biggest Nintendo title of the month, followed by a new “Professor Layton” title and “Pokémon Rumble Blast.” Since none of the three big titles are headed to Nintendo consoles, it looks like Nintendo fans will just have to make due.
What game are you planning on buying this month? “Battlefield 3” is a sure thing for me, but I’m really digging the “Forza” demo.

The wait will just be for a teeny bit more. Dark Souls has been confirmed to be delayed for Japan by developer From Software.
Due to "various reasons", the game will not be making its September 15th launch date in the land of the rising sun. It's not going to be too much of a delay, though, as it's been pushed back only by a week. The new release date will then now be on September 22nd.
They did not make mention on anything about the North American launch, however, but hopefully, it will not be affected by this Japanese delay.
Dark Souls comes out for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, published by Namco Bandai. Back in June, the Dark Souls team opened up a contest for the game wherein fans were encouraged to design their own shield and get the opportunity to win Dark Souls goods. There are also a bevy of bonus contents lined up for all awaiting fans.

Ó

The Burnout series is synonymous with fun for me. Being a PS2 owner from way back when I was a cursey teen instead of a cursey adult (or someone in their early 20's) as I am now, it's like a Pokémon evolution except not cool and really just learning about controlling my emotions and maturity and all that lame stuff. Included in that evolution was getting a PS3, and eventually being excited about the release of Burnout Paradise. I actually owned a PSP at one point and playing Burnout Dominator was bliss for me. Long bus rides filled with angsty or beat-punching music as I swerved corners and took badasses down whilst everyone just kinda looked at the weird fat kid and wondered where his guardian was.
Burnout Paradise was a personal low in the series. Despite, friends having the initially pre-release, I convinced myself that a free-roaming city was actually "really cool" and that it totally wouldn't be "lame" and you'd have a lot more freedom. I was wrong. Really wrong. I don't know about you but being in a free-roaming cityscape and having no sense of direction, as well as a poorly intuitative, linear map design really doesn't bode well with someone thinking in free-roaming mode. So burned by that Burnout experience, the announcement of another Burnout game spurred the pessimist in me and I was excited once again, but when I saw the first video's for it, I wasn't too pleased. I was less than pleased and the optimist inside me died...just a little...not too much, I hope.
I did go into Burnout Crash with less than a positive aspiration for what the game actually might be. I know people don't like people who waffle on, so let's just say Burnout Crash is good and there is a demo you can play, it's free, it'll give you a good indication of what it's like except for some modes but let's also say that Burnout Crash is initially underwhelming.
The 2D opening is cutesy to say the least but so mediocre it doesn't really register on my mental spectrum as being a video game. It reminds me of the animated sequence in Catch Me If You Can and I'm half expecting the little ute (or pick up truck for our US readers) to hit a tiny Leonardo DiCaprio and send him flying against a 2D wall...but yes, it's underwhelming and my memories of Burnout begin to fade, like the opening screen does. I left the opening on too long to start writing the opening paragraph, the visuals humming away in the background with my PS3 and then a song begins.
This is where my opinions change by a simple video and musical manipulation. The song by The Primitives, aptly titled - at least for this game - Crash and I'm brought back to a simpler time in my childhood called the 90's, when this song was not written. It's an 80's New Wave pop song and whilst I became a fan of New Wave some time in my late teens, the song still resonates and I'm back to apart of what makes the Burnout series amazing, the mind numbing, heart racing music. When I say mind numbing, I don't necessarily mean it in a bad way, it's just beautiful background fodder. Much like the Clair De Lune in Burnout Paradise or Shotgun by The Outline in Burnout Revenge, it brings you into a different element when it comes to the game.
One of my fondest memories of Burnout Paradise is watching the sun slowly set just as Clair De Lune began and I started a Takedown Race and watched the shadows stretch and pull the landscape of the city as I raced from night into day and won with 12 Takedowns when I only needed 5. I get weird when it comes to games and music. Most pieces just wash over me and I just shrug my shoulders, but when there's a piece that's memorable, it really sticks. Whether it's the beautifully whimsical music from Legend of Zelda, a series I've barely played or the block rocking minimal piano and beats of Minecraft - it all sticks in my mind like Tetris tessalated musical blocks.
PICTURE OF MARIO MUSICAL BLOCK
Of course, the Burnout series is just more than music and so I actually start playing Burnout Crash and stop listening to the Primitives for the 12th time....and I press start and the song actually starts to play in full, kicking off with a lovely little animated explosion of the pick-up. The menu kicks in after a failur to login to the PSN/Autolog network and a voice gives me a warm douchey welcome, sadly often associated with Burnout games. No one I really know is a frat kind of person and I feel EA keeps those voice over guys for that reason, I kinda liked it when it was the chick running Crash FM, but meh, that was then, this is now.
So far, the visual design is nothing like the little opening animated feature, with a nice little neon sign design floating as the menu and I kick off the game itself (after adjusting the sound settings, music up, voice over off). So after I'm told I'll be on the wildest ride of my life I choose the first mission and go on a bit of a rampage and you know what, it's fun. It's consistently fun, it's a whole lot of fun. Seeing those little cars coming, which is indicated in-game by a yellow arrow, and noticing all the little details on the houses and cars and just everything, I want to look at it closer but also destroy it at the same time. It's like being Clockwork God with a magnifying glass, but alas, my creations are not my own, only the destruction. But alas, before all the destruction there's a tutorial and it's a bit annoying.
Last time I was in a gaming DMV I decided not to play the game, that game was Driver, I was 8, things were different. Here it's  nice little tutorial that tells you about all the great things including the "Crazy Special Feature", which didn't exactly hype me up despite the vocal inflection and after playing Bastion last week I feel all voice overs need better voice actors or better writers, seriously. There could have been a lot more to do with the wacky voice-over, there are a few amusing lines here and there such as the description of the area being remembered as "all field" and the voice over actor pausing and being like "oh...it still is", I laughed at that, but the humour was far and few between and like Dreamworks movies, relied too much on pop culture than raw wit.
Old system of "More stars to unlock more cars" gives you a good old sense and even with the top-down look, Burnout Crash becomes a lot less like the Burnout series minute by minute. What I feel is Criterion should have just called it Crash. I understand that they may have possibly been sued by Universal for use of the fluffy Bandicoot character, but using the brand recognition of Burnout really doesn't work here.  It's a real identity crisis where it's clear they want to re-establish their brand for whatever reason. I remember Burnout selling like hotcakes, with every iteration since the 3rd one, and personal favourite, Takedown. The actual game itself does get a big hand from musical and sound cues, but a better focus on gameplay and making the game a lot more interesting, in regards to the voice work and writing, would have been better. For example, whilst the game out and out visually wants to have a rough design, it wants new players to the franchise to remember "to use that Crashbreaker" in an overly excited tone as if the big flashing x button on screen and the fact that other than kinda moving/sliding around the map, there isn't much else to do in-game, other than be amused and giggle when a bank truck comes along and the bombastic voice of Shirley Bassey claims "HEY, BIG SPENDER"...I giggled...like a girl.
Despite my girl giggling, there will be a lot of references young player - new players - won't get and will be baffled why they're in the game at all. Hearing Spandau Ballet's Gold when I blew up a golden truck was amusing for me but may only reach 5% of the people who play the game, seriously after reading the above paragraph, who knew 1. Who Spandau Ballet was/is? and 2. Who Shirley Bassey was? The identity crisis Criterion creates is more of a cultural problem than a gaming problem. Licensing those tracks would have cost them/EA millions, literally, and if it was worth it, I feel like we're on the inside of an in-joke, but everyone keeps beating the outside of it and it just keeps making a hollow thud.
I do want to give a handshake this week to two people, the guys who chose the music and the visual designers. As much as I've bitched about the visuals in the game, I do have to say the mix of eclectic styles of Neon-signed - almost Las Vegas in tone - and the cute top down car creations, it all works. It melds into this odd piece of automotive Americana, filled with the right colours here and there to look it mildly entertaining as well as watchable. When almost every week there's a lot of grey and brown being sloshed around, it's good to see emerald, aqua and  crimson red to be thrown into the mix. Sure, the game does have a fairly consistent use of black on the menus, but it adds to the steel and burning rubber style Burnout is known  for, and that's where it really takes a different side to the Burnout series.
However, it being a top-down game, it does have it's visual misdemeanours, such as the
The game's reward system is quite classic too. The star system is something I've always favoured in the series, with the whizzing or rushing of the flaming stars to come crashing into my self-gratification coz I pressed da buttons and dey do da ting dat it was programmed to do. The actual gameplay itself is quite simple, you're in a runaway car and you're going to crash. It's a lot more interesting to imagine you're a man who recently just went through the worst day in the world and intend to have the most creative day in the world, which includes ending with a multiple car pile-up, however, he keeps having a Groundhog Day-Quantum Leap scenario where he wakes up in a new car and new body everyday and ends it all the same...or I might be insane.
A few minor gripes about the game itself as there were a few framerate issues, even playing on the first level, but nothing to noticable as the game went on. The gameplay element of The Good Cops was a bit weird and has never really come up in previous parts of the Burnout canon...I guess, there really isn't a canon to a series about cars that gone and done smashed demselves up. However, the game does require a bit of strategy and it would have been interesting, if a bit farfetched, if you could place the cops at an entering intersection of yout choice.
See putting in extra obstacles such as The Ambulance, sometimes makes me feel as though they're dragging out the level, but then again hearing the words "Paging Dr. Beat" followed by the song by Miami Sound Machine, just makes me want to throw on some more 80's tracks and start dancing...nobody wants that. But it is a nice touch, if a bit cheap, I say cheap but honestly it resonates with my pop culture brain like a meth addict and I can't wait for that siren blaring bohemoth to come screaming through the streets again.
Having elements such as Tornados and Magnets are incredibly fun and don't outstay their welcome, the actual gameplay does begin to get stale in the other modes, but it's really just a personal preference and I think you should try out the other modes such as Rush Hour and Pile Up, I highly recommend them but they're not particularly my thing.
Rush Hour is a personal pain as I hate almost all timed missions in games and it just frustrates me. It almost seems like it'd be a lot interesting if it was an extra option that you could turn on or off, even have it as a version of the game like a Quick Match section of the game. Meanwhile, Pile Up is just cause as much destruction as possible, it's fun if a bit boring after a while, all the same gameplay elements are there. A co-op implementation would have been freaking amazing with you having to smash into a friend's car on the same interesection and see who could do the most amount of damage on a stretch of road, like a drag-race + Burnout...just an idea, Criterion.
Other than the music, which turns a bit generic but fun after Crash plays, the sound design is phenomanal with firey auto crashes sifting through my ears and the sound of poker machine winnings as points rack higher and higher like the possible animated body count, if the game was any ballsier...coz that's totally a word. The random sound effects add to the crazy style  The money has always been an interesting thing to me, not just money in general, God knows how the economy works, but the actual pricing of each car and the potential for costs and multipliers is just something I've wanted to calculate, make a big chart of, actually do math...yep, definitely insane.
In the corner I'm informed I'm a Wannabe, which gives me the assumption that the writers or designers of the game, and a lot of game worlds for that matter, really have this disdain towards players from the get go, but then again I'm a bit of a wuss who can't take any form of criticism whatsoeverpleaseloveme. But the actual gameplay elements are never really against the player, there is a balanced sense of both challenges and even with a plot-less game, there is a drive - whoa, pardon the pun there, been left over for weeks - to actually see the next intersection, the next car and the insanity that will ensue.  For example, really how determined are these drivers, logic is best not put in the way of the Burnout series...especially when car magnets are concerned.

Burnout Crash is not a bad game, it's just not a Burnout game. It does take the basic game mechanics of Crash, my honest to God, favourite part of the series, something I always look forward to and just made it a Downloadable Title. I'm looking forward to the good old days of burning through a city doing challenges and having some real fun, but for now, I guess this will tire me over. It's not expensive, it's a lot of fun, it's great to listen to and look at, it's like the
