The True Blue team released their 2.6 firmware for their dongles. It included a firmware spoofer and provided compatibility updates for games. The thing though, it wasn't quite ready for consumption. They have fixed it up and released a new update for everyone, unless you're using a JB-King dongle.

EA Details SWTOR Early Access Program

Did you pre-order Star Wars: The Old Republic? You’ll want to check out EA’s early access information.

Gamers that choose to pre-order the upcoming Star Wars-themed MMORPG, Star Wars: The Old Republic, will have access to the game a few days before the rest of the gaming populace. This is old news. What’s not old news, however, is the specific information regarding how that early access will operate, and when it will begin. Thanks to EA, we now have a detailed overview of what early adopters can expect.

Here’s the deal: If you pre-order SWTOR and register the pre-order code on the official website for the game, you can land yourself in the game up to seven days before its official launch. The date of your early access is determined by when you register your code, as EA is performing a staggered rollout, meaning the sooner you register, the more time you’ll have. The staggered rollout is likely an EA plan to keep servers manageable at the first crush of launch, or it could just be incentive to pre-order sooner rather than later.

Access starts on December 13 - EA will send you an email letting you know when your early access has been activated. And remember, even if you’re one of the several thousands of people that had your pre-order canceled by Wal-Mart, as long as you register the pre-order code, you’ll still get your early access to the game.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is due December 20, and is expected to be a major force in the world of MMOs. Have you pre-ordered a copy, or are you waiting to see how the game goes for everyone else?

Massive Modern Warfare 3 news incoming

It appears that there will be something big to be announced for Modern Warfare 3 later this week. EB Games Australia posted on their Facebook wall about it, teasing fans about an "ear-splitting" announcement.

Said the retailer, "Deafening, blaring, booming, ear-splitting Modern Warfare 3 announcement coming this Wednesdsay! Keep your ears open for this one..."

Obviously, they want to keep things hush-hush for now, but they will be making noise come September 28th, Wednesday. Off the top of my head, the simplest that I could come up with is that they're going to announce their exclusive pre-order items for the game, which could aim to be the exclusives that would top all others.

So far, the Hardened Edition for Modern Warfare 3 has already been made public, so if this "deafening" news is about EB's own special edition, then it should at least be at par as with the Hardened Edition has got to offer. Possibly more.

Activision was recently quoted as saying that they "don't care about sales numbers" or competition, but hey, come on. We know it can't just be altruism propelling them to come out with Modern Warfare 3. Phshawh.

US Congress wants PSN answers too

A letter from the US Congress to Sony Computer Entertainment America president Kazuo Hirai has been leaked to the press, and it's not good news.

A House of Representative subcommittee wants Mr. Hirai to answer a list of detailed questions, in their quest to find out more about the PSN hacking that took hold of the whole PSN community for the past week.

Said the letter, "We write today regarding the recent data breach experienced by Sony Corporation's PlayStation Network operated by Sony Computer Entertainment of America. According to Sony's statement, the breach occurred between April 17 and April 19, and impacted as many as 77 million account holders' personal information. A public acknowledgement of the breach was not made until APril 26."

Part of the things the subcommittee would want to know are questions on the type of data stolen by the hackers, and whether or not it did include any credit card information. They, as well as everyone else for sure, would also want to know if Sony has any knowledge as to the identity of the hackers, and when they reported the hack to the law enforcement.

Mr. Hirai is expected to reply to the inquiries by May 6th. The PlayStation Network has been down for almsot two weeks already, and nobody knows when it will get back online.
