If you’re terrified that your Kinect is beaming your sensitive habits into space, Paul Harper has just the device for you.
Microsoft’s Kinect device is capable of reading human movements, understanding 3D space and a whole host of other cool things (as evidenced by the modding community). It’s also, apparently, quite handy as a clandestine advertising tool.
Dennis Durkin, vice president of Microsoft’s gaming division, noted a couple of years back that the Kinect could potentially be used to gather information for advertisers. For example, the device could read recognizable product logos in your home and use that data to put together a tailored ad package based on your habits.
It’s pretty intrusive stuff, and even if Microsoft hasn’t taken advantage of the technology yet, there’s always the possibility they could. Which is why Paul Harper has invented the Pritect. It’s not particularly advanced—just a black cover you slip over your Kinect when you’re not using it to bust moves. The cover stops the device from pulling data, and protects it from dust buildup.
If you’re the type of person that’s concerned over Microsoft tracking your out-of-game habits, you can pick up a Pritect for $14.99.
Alternatively, you could stop acting crazy.

Did you ever think the LittleBigPlanet games could actually be used to make more creative stuff, apart from the levels in-game? If you didn't, this should get you inspired.
Chandra Nair is a games journaist-turned music producer from London. Using the tools present in LittleBigPlanet 2, he came up with a music video for his first music venture, She's The One, and of course with Sony's blessings.
The song was written by him in collaboration with his partner, Laurence Allen. "I've always thought that it would be pretty cool to do something with LBP, but it wasn't until LBP 2 came out that I actually sat down with it to see what the potential was," he narrated.
"The first huge problem was that I had to complete the game to 100% to unlock all the materials and objects... nightmare!"
Critics might scoff and say that the music video isn't a hundred percent made within the LBP 2 structure, anyway. But try 90%. That's still very impressive.
"Anywhere you see LBP characters is an LBP 2 scene created in the game, from scratch. Creating the Lamborghini model was probably the biggest challenge of the entire project.
The few exceptions have been created by animating photos, but this has only been done because I couldn't find any other way to recreate it. The text overlays (such as where the 'bon bon' text spins) is all done in After Effects."
Check out what he and his partner have done with the music video:
"I honestly don't think you could do this in any other game. I didn't even know you could do this with LBP 2 and people who have seen it have no idea the game is so flexible. The game does impose limitations on what you can do... but if you're clever with camera positions you can do some great stuff."

If you've been keeping up to date on the releases of the Back to the Future episodes, then we're pretty sure you're expeting the fifth and final installment to arrive sometime this month.
After all, Telltale Games has been consistent in releasing the episodes on a monthly basis since January. However, it seems that they won't be following that usual routine for Episode 5.
Telltale announced via their official blogpost that OUTATIME won't be coming out this month, but instead will be rolling out in June. That's for the PC version. Since the iPad and PSN versions usually hit these platforms a month after PC, then it should go to follow that the PSN and iPad versions won't be out till July.
They didn't give out an explanation as to why they're holding out on us for that long, but since it's the last installment, it should make sense that they'd want Back to the Future to end with a big bang, right?
