Xploder Media CentreFire International Ltd. has announced the release of the Xploder Media Centre for the Xbox 360 - a desktop utility allowing you to stream all digital movies and convert and stream music files from your PC for playback. The Media Centre is supposed to help people who have built up a collection of digital movies and are "frustrated by the Xbox 360Â’s inability to cope with non-Microsoft-standard file types".

Supporting DivX, MPEG, Xvid and WMV formats, Xploder Media Centre enables you to stream movies directly to your TV from a Xbox 360 connected to a Windows Media Centre PC. High-definition content is also supported, although it depends on individual system configurations.

You can also connect your Xbox 360 to a AV system for digital music playback, with Xploder making it possible to easily convert CDs to MP3 format for digital playback, with all track, artist and album information provided automatically using an online database.

Xploder Media Centre will be released on June 30 in the UK and Europe, for a RRP of £29.99/€39.99 and in distinctive metal packaging, including a three metre XLink Ethernet cable and crossover adaptor. Availability in the US and other countries is likely to follow, with further international distribution deals soon to be announced.

Now we just need to overcome Xbox 360’s inability to cope without Windows Media Centre.

» This bull***** , there are already free alternatives.

They are stealing your money , they probably changed the UI from one of these , Transcode360 , VLC360 and MCE Video Encoder . all of them do the same thing and for free.

They are only charging you for a pretty box and some cheap Ethernet cables , come on people , who is dumb enough to buy that when 3 free better solutions are available.

I thought this was something that let you stream movies without MCE.
