The Vision

The Xbox's little camera has been making news as of late. First, it mysteriously appears at Toys-R-Us. Then it shows up on eBay even though it won't be out until later this month. I guess people are just eagerly awaiting the camera, so much so that video reviews of the appliance are already out.

With the camera promising to allow gamers to experience video chats, photo messaging, custom Gamertag photos among many other features, it's pretty hard to think why people wouldn't want to get their hands on the Vision.

Well, here's some more info for you and your buddies. The folks at teamxbox were able to get the pricing information for the two packages that the Vision will be released in.

Xbox Live Vision Standard Pack ($39.99)
  • Xbox Live Vision camera
  • One-month trial Xbox Live Gold Membership
  • Xbox 360 Headset
  • Free download of Xbox Live Arcade titles UNO and TotemBall
Xbox Live Vision Gold Pack ($79.99)
  • Xbox Live Vision camera
  • Twelve-month Xbox Live Gold Subscription
  • Xbox 360 Headset
  • Free download of Xbox Live Arcade titles UNO, Robotron: 2084 and TotemBall
  • 200 Microsoft Points
We'll keep you guys updated with other developments.

What you talkin' bout?

Its not only used for a webcam, it is also used for games... Its motion sensative, thats a plus, you can video chat on Xbox Live, you can take pics, it can scan your face and put it in a game and it will be you just animated... It is a 40 or 80 dollars well spent....

What if you only want the camera? I already subscribe to xbox live gold, so what use is one month free to me? and I have a headset, like everyone else who bought a premium xbox. $40 dollars is reasonable though, although I live in the UK so it'll probably cost me £40, given the *****ed up exchange rate Sony and Microsoft use.

Yeah I share your pain. I live in germany and our exchange rate is 1:1 here too -_- This sucks... I might import mine it'll still be cheaper that way and I can't see the cam being region locked. I'm looking forward to totemball tho^^

@ #8

Im pretty sure you can just enter the code on the 1 month of gold free card into your dashboard and it adds another month to your account. That is what I did when I got some free 3 month cards from family last christmas. Im sure you'd be able to do that with the 1 month as well.

$40 for a year of Live?

and then $39 for the camera? Get the $79 pack if you plan on getting the camera AND keeping XBox live. You can't beat that price for 12 months really. Plus you get three free games and 200 more points. The only downside to it would be if you already had Robotron and/or Uno. And even then you're still getting one hell of a deal.

robotron?

Why robotron? Robotron has no use for the camera. I already have it and uno, so no good for me. I hope they have some better games, I'm not sold on totemball. If you can use the camera on your pc, then it may be of some better use.
