Xbox Live service upgrade on September 10 |

Heads up, Xbox Live users: Microsoft just announced that its popular service will be down for a service upgrade at 2:01 PDT on September 10, 2007. This will last for approximately four hours.
No official explanation has been announced but the common assumption of those who've noticed the Xbox Live announcement is that this is in preparation for Halo 3's release.
As we all know, Bungie Studios' Halo 3 will launch in a huge way come September 25, and people are expected to generate a huge surge in Xbox Live usage. It's a good thing Microsoft is doing this to avoid overloading on the big day.

Isnt this also going to be the setup for Europe to be able to download HDDVD Movies etc.
I will be connecting on Halo 3 day with my nice shiny new 120 gig Elite.
when are microsoft gonna fix the live arcade games,after last update most of my arcade games wont work unless im connected to live,hope they can fix this as it was fine before.
Hopefully your Xbox will not be out for repairs by then.
they aren't actually shiny. That matte black is nasty...reminiscent of the poop brown Zune. I own both but the PS3 def looks slicker next to my shiny black plasma.
the ps3 doesnt look that good, i am not a fan of the shinny piano black that sony uses for EVERYTHING they make, its hard to keep clean and god forbid if you touch it...!!!

Why dont you also mention the PS2 if you want to go back on what consoles have had their problems from early release I>E the PS2 which is still in production and MILLIONS had to be sent back due to the DVD faults it had, but like MS they sorted it out and still sell it, the BIG difference is MS give you a 3 YEAR guarantee whereas the others only give you ONE year.
So why did you mention the 360 older consoles when I talk about the new Elite and why did you NOT mention the PS2 DVD DRIVE OF DEATH at the same time as it is still in production?.
Xbox live arcade works fine no problems with the update, you are talking about the games trying to access the xbox live leaderboard, LOL, try adjusting your game settings if offline...

I know what you're talking about but it doesn't happen to me because I'm almost always connected to Xbox live. But I noticed when you're not online the games will not load the full arcade versions, only the trial.
another ps3 vs 360 debate in something that there really shouldn't have been any debate.
but while we're on the subject... id rather have the matte black/hell, even white xbox sitting next to my tv than the bulking ***** martha (aka ps3) breaking the tv unit with its immense weight
if ur not online it doesnt even let you use downloadable conted u've previously downloaded..... its sucks but they do that so you cant share downloaded stuff its stupid
