Xbox Live for Vista this summer |
Ó
Now for a perfectly good reason to update to Windows Vista, at least if you're a 360 owner. Microsoft has just announced that by this summer, Xbox Live will be launching on Windows Vista. "Windows Vista marks the biggest investment from Microsoft around Windows games since Windows 95, making games easier, safer and more fun to play on the PC," said Microsoft's Bill Gates as part of his key notes during the start of this week's CES. "For consumers, we believe gaming is one of the top reasons to upgrade to Windows Vista."
In line with this announcement, The Live for Windows will be hosting many similar features from Live service, like the Friends list feature. Given the stuff we've seen moving to Vista like Geometry Wars and XNA, we'll be waiting for more news to come our way as the CES warms up. And hopefully, we'll see Vista's yet to be conceived OS-tan make its debut. Kawaii...

If you dont want microsoft to know what you do on the internet or what programs you download and such dont get vista because your letting microsoft know exactly what you download and where you go. They will also be puting ads onto their Vista machines depending on where you go.
go on then give me a link to a reputable site that admits all this.
Ads on vista? are you crazy after all the money people will spend on it they would go mental if that were true.
Do you really think microsoft would take all that information? and if so do you really think they have the man power or would want to hire enough people to have the man power to sift through pointless reams of data about what programs joe x downoaded?
I mean, you need 2g of RAM and a 256mg video card to run vindows vista... now start a game on that, and you'll need the requirements for the game + the min specs. for vista, this is ridiculous.
And for what? nothing!!
Vista was supposed to have tons of new features, but no, it's still in NTFS and nothing is new BUT the looks, wow, now windows is looking good, SO WHAT?
And anyway, we already know what will happen to the guys and girls who's gonna download this the first year... just think about winXP SP2... the 1st version bugged everything....
So I'll stay away from windows vista the longer I can, and I suppose It'll be at least one year, till the game will NEED vista ( like halo2, even if I don't wanna play this game, I just hope crysis won't need it... ).
ps: you can disable the "aero desktop" theme that EAT you RAM and video card RAM, but then why install vista? Vista is only a fresh look, and nothing else...
Vista and games! why bother? just get a 360 it works out a lot cheaper and playing games from your armchair is a lot more healthy than sitting in front of a PC.
thats weird, because i seem to be running the beta just fine on my laptop with 1 gb ram, amd 3400, and ati 9700(128mb vc ram)
Yes, playing video games from your 'armchair' is SO much more healthy than sitting on your 'chair' in front of your PC... very sound judgement!
