Xbox GamerCards inaccessible due to Halo 3 |
Ó
Aside from the opponents that get fragged in game, there's another casualty in the midst of the raging Halo 3 frenzy. Some Microsoft Xbox Live GamerCards are now inaccessible, and the Xbox site's error message even points to Bungie's much-awaited game as the culprit. The exact error message reads as follows:
Sorry, this page is unavailable.
The page you tried is unavailable.
ALERT: Due to high traffic related to the launch of Halo 3, some site features may be currently unavailable. Please try again later.
GamerCard errors are not the only Xbox Live-related problems brought about by Halo 3's launch. As we have reported a few days ago, many Xbox Live subscribers were not able to start finishing the fight due to the massive number of gamers trying to update their consoles, as well as gamers logging in for online multiplayer games.
It may be too much to wish for the massive Halo 3-driven activity to subside, but we do hope that Microsoft will be able to do something to alleviate the problem without affecting the goodness that is Halo 3.

Ironically stuff like this happened to PS3, there were retards who said stuff like "That's what you get with a free service". Hopefully this will put an end to that
That was for simple things, i'd like you to find a PS3 game that has 600-800 thousand players online playing multi-player at any given time....
Also, I've had no problems since launch day, but yes, for 2-3 hours there were problems accesing marketplace as well as some live features....but halo 3 has always worked perfectly....so who cares about the rest of live
I havent been able to access the other two of the profiles on my xbox. they lock up when i try to log in and i have to reboot the console. funny enough these two are the only ones that arent gold accounts...... anyone else have this problem?
My neighbor has the same problem. 2 accounts one gold. Gold is fine silver is giving some problems for the first time. In this respect i believe that paying members with the gold account appear to be for the majority under control. As Silver is free and gold is paid for the current situation until more infrastructure is in place to accommodate this load will continue with the preference quite rightly being placed on Gold accounts.
I've seen XBL this laggy before, but not for an entire week. Sending messages or chat invites to friends, the marketplace, even Xbox.com, everything is taking five times longer to load.
Halo 3 itself is awesome, and I realize it usually has at least 400-500 thousand players online at any given time, but I would really like to be able to view just one thing on the marketplace without having to wait two minutes for it to load.
