Xbox 360 Weekend Warrior: Microsoft the Incredulous, patent infringement cases, and games updates |
Ó
In this week's Warrior, sure to get the medal for Biggest News is Microsoft's daring (yet-again) statement on their incredulity at Sony hitting the 20 million mark for PSN users. In second place would be the big MS sued to pony up lotsa cash for patent infringement. Uh-oh. But first:
Gaming News:
Resident Evil 5 - has finally hit store shelves! Time to kill off those zombies! Oh, and don't worry yourself too much over the DLC price. Capcom's got just the right defense for that. Link
- As for Chris in a rather compromising position with Sheva (and her unlockable costume), we're not really sure what kind of defense he'll give. Link
- But be that as it may, don't call the game "racist" Link
- Fable 2
- It's far from being over. Lionhead Studios confirmed this week that there will be more DLC coming your way to continue the adventure. Link
- And a tweet has let it slip that a Part 3 is in the works. Link
- Call of Duty
- World at War Map Pack has been dated for a March 19 release.
- Modern Warfare 2 is looking incredible, according to Activision's CFO Link
- Army of Two sequel revealed. Link
- BioShock 2
- is rumored to have female versions. Link
- is confirmed to have Big Sisters. Link
- Final Fantasy Crystal Defenders landed on XBL Link
Industry News:
- Microsoft the non-believer: MS head of gaming and entertainment in UK, Stephen McGill, dons his Doubting Thomas hat as he questions Sony's "real numbers" on the PSN. Do they, or do they not, have 20 million active PSN users? Link
- US$ 90 million due from MS for patent infringement: MS is faced with yet another lawsuit, this time from PalTalk Holdings. Allegedly, MS used patented technology in the Halo games, and both Xbox consoles as well. Trouble brewing. Link
That sure was a hectic week yet again for Microsoft. Let's see how this lawsuit pans out: will they settle, or will they duke it out to the end? Do you think PalTalk stands a chance, or would they be just another of them money-grubbing companies out to milk them giant cows?
As for the games front, Capcom really put it all out there with the launch of Resident Evil 5. The updates just kept rolling, and we're sure there'll be more in store for us then next week. With that, we hope you had a great week with us here at the Xbox 360 blogs.
