Xbox 360 Weekend Warrior: Fans against sequels, radio stars on XBL, and a console-like launch for a console's controller |
Ó
A lot of us still seem to be suffering from that E3 hangover. But that's alright. We've got plenty of back-to-regular-programming E3-after pills to pull you through. Hey, just because the event is over doesn't mean that our party is over.
Read up and see just how much we earned from the aftermath of E3.
Gaming:
- Left 4 Dead
- Fans aren't too happy about getting a sequel. They're actually signing up for a boycott of L4D2. Weird, huh. Link
- In response to the antagonistic reception of fans towards the sequel, Valve has clarified that they will indeed continue support for L4D1. But they can't scrap L4D2 and just make it DLC cos it's way too big for that. Link
- Then Gabe Newell did some explanation of his own, saying that the interoperability between 1 & 2 is important. Link
- Having concerns that the new 'Mark and Execute' feature of Splinter Cell: Conviction will drastically change the mode of the game to "too easy"? Producer Alexander Parizeau addresses this issue and more. Link
- There is a name for every rose, or in Final Fantasy XIII's case, for their Shiva Sisters. Link
- Worried that Ghostbusters: The Video Game for the Xbox 360 will be region-locked? Don't worry -- it's not. Link
- Forza Motorsport 3 Exclusive Limited Edition and preorder bonus are being offered at GameStop. Link
- Assassin's Creed 2 just might get multiplayer mode, but the DLC is a sure-go. Link
- Battlefield 3's just been confirmed by Electronic Arts, but still no word on which specific platforms it would be on. Link
- Original Mass Effect squadmates won't be recruitable in Mass Effect 2. Link
Online:
- Game details finally emerged for Rare Ltd.'s XBL offering, Perfect Dark. Link
- Epic Games slashed of their pricing for the Combustible Map Pack of Gears of war 2. Link
- They gave the shoutout, so don't forget: XBL is scheduled for some primpin' and cleaning this June 16th. You've been sufficiently warned. Link
Industry:
- Last.fm was officially announced for the Xbox 360 at E3, and here we have some more details as well as screenshots. Link
- Look who wants to be in on it too! Pandora expressed late last week that it would "love" to be on the Xbox 360 as well. How delightful. Absolutely thrilling. Link
- Tomonobu Itagaki showed off his new posse at E3, as well as his new Xbox 360 project. What does he have to say to his old team at Ninja, and his competitors? Only the best wishes. Link
- The Kodu game creator from Microsoft is unveiled and scheduled to arrive at the end of June. Link
- Shane Kim says that the Natal launch will be as big as the Xbox 360's. Somehow we don't doubt that at all. Link
And that's it for this week. See you again next time! Just keep jumpin!
