Ó

So folks, here it is. As expected, Microsoft has unveiled the slimmed down version of the Xbox 360 during its pre-E3 Xbox Media Event in Los Angeles.

Officially called the Xbox 360 250GB Elite Console, the whisper-quiet hardware is back in a sleek black finish with a more leaner design, comes with an internal removable 250GB hard drive, built-in wifi (802.11N) and supports the company's upcoming motion-sensing device, Kinect. It will be available starting this week for US$ 299.

Thanks to JETFIRE007 for the tip!

none of your old peripherals like HDD are compatible and I'd like to see the internals and how reliable it is. Did they eliminate the power brick?

They didn't say it's a Slim. They said it has a slicker design. If you pause at 1:21 it doesn't look much different in size as the original. It's pretty much like a PS3 now.

If you ask me I think it looks horrible. The original 360 is still better.

I never understand why they have to have those shiny black plates. Those scratch so easy and imprints fingerprints easily. My PS3 gets scratched every time I put it in a bag.

I was wrong it is Slimmer and shorter. After seeing the E3 videos it's not as my thinner as it is shorter.

looks cool but how much longer will the 360 be around for? Maybe a year more? It might not be worth it if they come out with a new console this time next year.

Im sorry 360 fanboy, but this looks like someone smashed a 360 with a bat and said, HERE IT'S A SLIM :D

And really it's not even SLIM!!! LOL i mean it's just about the same size and only thing new with it is built in wifi, that should have been built in from the start.

Lol I also thought it had a design resembling an alienware PC, anyway it now looks like a more complete package since a lot of people complained about the wifi, somehow I think I should like this but i dunno the whole concept is just not grabbing me, looks cool though . . .

Could it be any shinier if they tried?

I can see fingerprints will become a pain in the ass on this thing!

Although it's about time they had wi-fi built in. Only took them, what, 3 and a half years longer than Sony to add built-in wi-fi.

how about them fixing the DVD rom i mean changing it to a better design so that it wont scratch the dvds every time you move the 360 just a little..you guys remember ??? that if you just move it a little it will scratch the cd instantly ..so why not fix that problem when your at it?!?!

Microsoft, seeing how sony profited from their slim rushed to the drawing boards and made this poop in a weekend.

People sure are ignorant.

The hardware issues of overheating have been pretty much non-existant since the falcon board.

The DVD drive hasnt been scratching discs for years now, but if you're moving a disc reader while the disc is spinning, you deserve whatever you get anyway and I'd be glad if it just destroyed the disc and printed a big, 'You're a fucking asshat' on the screen.

Also, PS3 doesn't even have access to wireless N yet in any form. Not even as some kind of addon peripheral.

PS3 wifi is nice for simple shit, but anyone who tries to seriously game on wireless G needs to get out off my lawn. Those losers always lag up SSFIV matches and shit.

Also, who said this was a slim? The official name says nothing about it being a slim. Does the ad call it a slim? People are stupid.

My only complaint will be that it'll probably still only support the proprietary HDD, on the other hand, a 250g is big enough for anyone but your stupidest whores so it isn't exactly necessary to expand.

im not complaining at all ..great with a slimmer 360 but as for the DVD drive im just saying fix it so its more stable..and YEAH its really dumb to start moving it around while the disc spins..but i mean it should not scratch the disc regardless...maybe i accidentally touched the 360 or my cat or dog or child..soo i think they really should make it more stable so it wont scratch discs as soon as you lay a finger on it.the ps3 doesn't do that just to compare ..and you say the 360 hasn't been scratching discs for years now?? that i really didn't know anything about HOW come??? have they already fixed the issue?

This should be great news now that Microsoft has released an Xbox 360 with built-in WiFi capabilities. For those who already have the old Xbox 360 though, who still want to get it connected to the internet wirelessly, here's a nice alternative. Check out the Netgear Xbox 360 Internet Connection Kit. This device acts as an adapter that connects to your wireless router, so you can get your Xbox 360 connected to the internet even if it's far from your wireless router. If you want to check out other info about the Netgear Xbox 360 Internet Connection Kit, just visit this link: http://bit.ly/bByST7.
