XBox 360 Live CamperaEarlier QJ coverage of the Xbox 360 Live Vision camera announced the free game that came with the peripheral, gave previews of the Live Chat function, and the known release dates in the US, Europe, Japan and elsewhere. Well, the Official Xbox Magazine US edition just put out the word: the US September 19 release is on, and word on the street is that it'll come in two package deals.

The "standard" bundle, rumored to retail for $39.99, includes the camera, the Live Headset, the free TotemBall game, and the UNO Live Arcade game. The "Gold" version (going for $79.99) packs in all the above, plus an as-yet-to-be-decided Live Arcade game and 200 Microsoft points. The bundles were reported to come with "free" month-long (standard) and year-long (Gold) Live Gold subscriptions, though the CVG source article from which we hooked into this story figured the subscription fees were worked into the pricing of their respective bundles.

Another interesting thing that CVG reported on was that Ubisoft is tooling Rainbow Six: Vegas to add Live Camera hand gesture support (in addition to the already-present voice command support as reported in a previous OXM story). Does this mean we can signal "two tangos around the corner" to our squadmates, order them to move and clear with a flick of the wrist, and (when we feel like it) flash the "universal hand gesture of profane contempt" at the tangos we take down?

That would be interesting to follow up on later.

An arcade game and 200 points is not worth $40 extra dollars. There must be something else to it, if it's true

I will wait until they take out the headset, uno game, & month free trial (although they can leave that in). That way the price will go down. I would rather just buy the camera by itself for $20 rather than $40. The "free" extras that comes with the camera are just to jack up the price so I will wait until they release the camera by itself or I won't buy it at all. It's not that big of a deal anyways.

You can buy just the camera...it is 39.99 or you can get ripped off and buy the stuff i posted above from ebgames in their Xbox Live Vision kit for 79.99. That is why I said the 40 buck deal is wayyy better.
