Xbox 360 HD DVD - Image 1Major Nelson announced on his blog that Xbox 360 owners who purchased the optional HD DVD player will be getting an update the next time they watch a movie and are signed in to Xbox Live.

This update includes compatibility improvements for certain titles as well as additional support for network features. Users who don't have access to Xbox Live will be happy to know that this download will also be available from Xbox.com later this week.

It's nice to see that Microsoft is still providing support for their HD DVD player even though it is at the end of its life cycle. Be sure to keep checking back here for more Xbox 360 updates .

The Update

The update is just a message that pops up during HD-DVD playback that says: "Ha! Gotcho dumb ass!" Every 17 minutes.
