Xbox 360 HD-DVD drive sees fast sales in Best Buy

When Best Buy announced that their Xbox 360 HD-DVD drives were going on sale, we thought we'd have time to think of whether we'd get a new one or not. Bad move.

As it turned out, there wasn't even time to think. Best Buy dropped the price from US$ 179 to US$ 149 and that was all it took for everyone who've been waiting for a deal to go out and grab one. The item was sold out in a day.

We were hoping that the prices would remain the same in the event of fresh stock coming in, but the retailer decided that the fun was over and had the price back up to the original one.

But that's okay, we'll just have to be quick on the draw the next time around. It was nice enough just to see that there's so much interest in HD-DVD as evidenced by the fast sales.
