Xbox 360: Game prices are dropping...some of them, at least

360 game pricesMaybe we're still so used to the old $39.99 price tags for games now that we don't notice more and more Xbox 360 games, which mostly come with a MSRP of $59.99, are released for quite a few bucks less. Companies like EA are following the trend, cutting some of the prices on their older titles.

GameSpot observes that besides the obvious Table Tennis, turning to shelves for $39.99, there's also Koei's Dynasty Warriors 5 coming for the same price. EA's titles Madden NFL 06, NBA Live 06, FIFA Soccer 06: Road to FIFA World Cup, Tiger Woods PGA Tour 06 and Burnout Revenge have been dropped to $39.99 as well. THQ is selling the rather new The Outfit for the same price, so is Ubisoft with King Kong: The Official Game.

All these price cuts mostly apply to the publisher's own online stores for now, although some retail sites seem to mirror the prices. Just don't expect every GameStop to go along with the new prices. But that could change fast, should more publishers adapt this policy of making next-gen games more friendly for your purse.

I went to a gamestop today and the outfit, tiger woods, and kong were all 40 as the article stated. Burnout was still 60 though :(

The outfit is a crappy game ,kingkong is a very short game,MADDEN never was what it was supposed to be.Said to be by many the biggest upset of the 360 launch titles,dynasty warriors 5 is a total joke..as if a joke could ever be that bad.Now table tennis is an excellent title very deep in online play but if it were sold for$59.99 it would not sell as good people would wait till they saw it used or something.NBA live is cool but 2007 lineups are coming out soon so it only makes sense to price drop.SO TO MY POINT ....PLEASE DONT INSULT THE HARDCORE GAMERS INTELLIGANCE BUY MAKING IT LOOK AS IF THE PRICES ARE DROPPING because there thinking of us. BECAUSE THERE'S ONLY 3 REASONS AND THAT'S QUALITY, INTEREST IN THE GAME ,AND SALES NO MORE NO LESS

the majority of those have performed badly, or sales have started to slip thats the only reason they are getting the price cuts, where is oblivion, ghost recon advanced warfighter, perfect dark, fight night round 3 or even project gothem racing 3 ?
