Xbox 360 finally running on Linux? |
Ó
Anyway, enough goofing. This is an alleged video clip of an Xbox 360 running on Linux, posted by kunkie123 over at YouTube. Most of the footage were spent on preparation and so we only got a very minor glimpse of the said hack. We personally believe that a footage like this isn't enough. We need more proof.
And maybe now you're wondering why posted this, anyway. Because the video clip claims to have come from CCC or the Germany">Chaos Computer Club. The group is based in Germany and is one of the most influential hacking organisations today. They uphold the hacker's ethic and fight for free access to computers and technological infrastructure. So what do you think?

Don't get to excited, people are saying it's probably just a firmware hacked 360 which is using the kiosk disc version of king kong to display unsigned shaders (a previously known exploit). Hopefully it will be confirmed either way soon.
should read xbox 360 running linux or linux on xbox 360.
or maybe they found sum way to exploit the kiosk disc.. would be nice for the new year :)
guess we just have to wait and see...
Dull video, thanks for the memories ;(
I know he didn't want to show himself, but this was really weak ;) , but hey i'm still curious if it will work, good luck!
And hé!, HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
Looks like a fake. This is from the CCC event
http://events.ccc.de/congress/2006/Fahrplan/events/1606.en.html
And if you translate this one of the xbox guys said the 360 has the best security system he ever saw!
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/83031/
I think he used a copy of King Kong and injected a signed XNA App. Thats a fake!
all i want is some sort of XBMC for my 360 then i'm happy!
lol the bloke talking was *****.....
Oh xbox 360, wingnut productions, King kong.....
We can see that you prick!
what exactly is this supposed to prove? umm... nothing? i didnt even show the 360 (which was upside down... why?) booting the os
retards, it's "Linux (finally?) running on XBOX 360"
or even "XBOX 360 (finally?) running Linux"
the way you have it posted now, it implies that the Linux OS is currently emulating the XBOX 360 console.
Fools.
The Thing as no harddrive... It most likely seems like a remastered DVD-R including the logo animation some King Kong chapters and lil extras... VERY WEAK!
Seriously it's so stupid, this thing was really not convincing, really, I am not even convinced of anything.
After the really unorganized presentation in which it took 4 people to plug a 360 correctly and it ended up upside down anyway.
What is next? A picture showing a PS3 logo hanging arround? really do something.
Im not saying that i believe this but lets recheck some of the accusations yoi guys have made:
1. It isnt upside down.
2. It has some sort of a chip hanging out of the hard drive port.
So lets get this straight, they managed to get a 360 to run on Linux? Thats real smart (Y)
that was gayer than aids...
It showed like 1 second of "linux" lol. That could of been a *****ing edited video on that dude's laptop he had and put behind the 360....
Retarded and fake as hell
your all nubs.. flame flame flame... its interesting to see nubs set up an xbox 360 in that amount of time so it was worth my time..
